It is rare that a movie has made me want to immediately want to watch it again right after I came out of the screening.

I feel like Gwen was an actually main character in this movie and I’m really happy about that because her story is really sad yet also kinda enlightening and I can’t wait to see her lead her own spider team in beyond the spider verse
Well it is more like they were co-mains. The first part was all about qwen, and many other parts was about her too
I think miles was still the main character. they just needed to set up how she was able to visit him in his universe and flesh out her character more.
Its from Gwen's perspective, her story to convince the others for a rescue mission. It started with Gwen and ends with Gwen assembling the team. So yeah, Gwen is almost like the main character.

The first 60-70% of the movie was Gwen's movie with spot and miles and the spider society sprinkled inbetween. the 3rd movie is going to be MIles' movie for sure or maybe every spider-man will be a main character!!

This movie is living rent-free in my head until I go to see Beyond the Spider-Verse. Not even Infinity War left me wanting more so badly.
It currently has a higher rating than the first film AND Everything Everywhere, broooo I'm so ready

The best part about both spiderverse films is that the older you get, the more you relate to different aspects. Didnt need to come out when we were 10.

Halie wasn’t kidding when she said Paper Moon inspired her to make movies, and boy was it a quick turnaround for that inspiration. Did she just watch the movie and immediately go into the Coen Brothers office and say “PUT ME IN THIS MOVIE”

When Hailee said you should not watch the movie (for the first time at least) while being tired is so true because you can really miss A LOT by blinking. So moral of the story: Don´t blink y´all.

Given the success already of Across the Spider-Verse...and the inevitable success of Beyond the Spider-Verse...I can't help but think that we haven't seen the last of the Spider-Verse movies.

every moment they release a Miles Morales content like comics or in game, he slowly crept up to the top of my list but this movie solidified him at the top. And randomly put Spiderpunk from not on the list to like top 5, maybe next movie if we have more content of Hobie
I really hope Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Tom Holland all returning to reprise their role in this, and especially Nicholas Cage as the voice of Spider-Man Noir (I also think he should play a live-action Spider-Man Noir. I know he’s 59. How old is that character anyway?) I also hope Zendaya, Emma Stone, Kristen Dunst, Marisa Tomei, Sally Field, Alfred Molina, Willem Defoe, Rhy Ifans, Thomas Haden Church, Tom Hardy, Topher Grace, and Jamie Foxx all return for Beyond The Spider-Verse.
I also wish that Beyond The Spider-Verse gets a PG-13 rated and at least gets a 3hrs run-time (if they want to make it happen. I know they don’t have to if they don’t want to.) I really wish some animated films like Dreamworks, Sony and Disney & Pixar were at least 2hrs long. Most of them were too short sometimes like, 1hr 30mins or 1hr 40 something minutes

They did a good job in this movie, the truth is, it's a masterpiece, wait when Beyond the SpiderVerse is released... the truth is... I'm worried about Miles and Gwen's relationship... it's not It's fair that they pair Miles... he is my favorite character and I love him more... I mean, I love his interaction but... I don't know... but they should know better, superheroes don't fall in love with other superheroes ( They can but not always) and they are not always together. i hope miles and gwen being couple and friends.

Animation > live action. Over the last 50 years. May be a little drop in the middle when civil war, iron man and winter soldier came out.

I loved the first movie but I can't say I'm excited for the second one. Not only does it not have the novelty and freshness of the first one, but it seems like this one just went for the typical Hollywood approach of "bigger is better": MORE Spider-people, MORE colors, MORE multiverse ! And contrary to the first one it doesn't seem to be doing anything new visually, it even seems to recycle some story beats and themes from the first movie. I'll gladly be proven wrong though, but spoiling the twist villain in the trailer isn't a good sign.
I get your points and yeah its getting milked since the third one is just a year from release but there is not much innovation left to do cause it requires technology that's not yet avaliable they can't enhance the frame rate which would greatly elevate the experience so they innovate by giving you different artstyles that compliment some of the motives of the film and characters. I can't say that's bad from their part. Sometimes is not just about freshness but about stablishing a style, a known brand, and you know how it is they have to appeal the vast majority. You lose some things you win others.
Reading the real spoilers of the movie. I can say that there's so much more to show. Even if they said who the real villain is. The plot twist is mindblowing
@@metacitizend1095 Artistic innovation doesn't necessarily require technological breakthroughs, most of what made the first movie novel didn't rely on technology as much as editorial choices. They already did the "each character leans into a different artstyle" bit in the 1st one, and the artstyles in the trailer are not fresh or even as distinctive as they were in the first one.
Comercially it makes sense to consilidate a brand identity, I just don't find it interesting artistically. Part of what was appealing in the first movie was that it did away with some of the constraints that were supposed to be necessary for a successful movie, they trusted that audiences wanted something new. Here it just looks like typical Hollywood learning the wrong artistic lessons from succesful innovation, and stifling new innovation for the purpose of solidifying a brand. A brand which I personally asssociated with daring artistic choices more than I did with multiverses or a toyetic amount of Spider-Man variants. It's like if A24 started doing EEAAO clones instead of continuing to allow the creative freedom that birthed EEAAO. So yeah, they lost me by consolidating their brand "the wrong way".
On the other hand I can't blame them because I'm guessing it will make more money at the box office than the first one, audiences *really* like the comfort of monotonous franchises that keep doing the same thing over and over.
