Thank you, Sherry! Last September, I ordered both 150 and 180 for light colors/translucent but did not get a chance to modify them for easy blade removal. Luckily, I found your video because both are the new model. Thank you!
Amazon just delivered mine yesterday. I just took it out of yhe box, cleaned it up and started using it. I was aggravated over my clay sticking to the rollers so here I am! Now I know the extra mystery pieces were the rods and blades!😂😂😂 You're awesome Sheri! Much better than the owners manual!😊❤
So glad I found this video. I just got my Atlas 180 and the blades and rods were not installed on the machine. They were just at the bottom of the box. The manual did not really say what they were for. Thank you so much for explaining not only how to clean the blades but how to install them! Phew! Now I can start using it.
Awesome tutorial, everyone that works with polymer clay specially the newer people that always ask about the best pasta machine need to see this video so everyone should share it every time someone ask what’s the best pasta machine, the thought of being able to use black clay and wipe your blades down, and then use white claywithout transferring black to it is awesome
I just bought a 150 and I was "thrilled" to discover it has those removable rods. Putting my Makin off to the side and will use that just for black clay.
@@lesliegulyas148 yay! I’m sure you will love it 😊 I have one for white/translucent and one for color. Only one motor but definitely love having two machines
Would you be able to do a full tutorial on making a polymer clay easy slab using the pasta machine and settings how to use it? Please? I just got my machine!! So so excited!!!
I will see what I can put together for you. I have a few tutorials already scheduled for the next couple weeks but I will put something together soon for you 😁
Yay!! Oh i would appreciate it so much! Honestly i know there are a ton of videos out there, but I appreciate your videos the most and how you explain everything and don’t skip steps. Most tutorials aren’t thorough so i feel like i am still just searching non stop! So its exhausting and stressful.
@@EndlessLoveNyx I really appreciate that because I thought the same thing when I first started and decided I needed to do FULL tutorials really explaining and showing how to do things not skip over parts, so to hear this really makes me happy 😃 thank you 😊 it makes the hard work worth it
Nevermind, I figured it out! Turns out that Amazon sent me the old handle model with the new version of the 180. So I will be returning it and getting the correct handle! Glad I’m not crazy :)
Sorry I just woke up to start my day and that is the strangest thing. I can’t believe they would send the wrong handle. I’m so glad they are sending a new one ☺️
I currently have the 150 that was "Monafied". I am able to remove and replace the blades to clean them without having to unclamp the machine from my table. This is important to me as I clean the blades each time I switch from conditioning a dark color to conditioning white or a light color. Is it possible with the new machine to remove and replace the blades while the machine is still attached to the table or do you need to remove it?
For me I have to turn over so I can see where the holes are for the bar the go. I actually have two machines one for only white and translucent which is clamped and one for color with motor and not clamped. That is the one I clean most so for me I don’t have to unclamp often but just turn over.
The blades should last quite a long time, there is a man on eBay that sells replacement blades that fit the new machines I don’t know if it’s part of the Atlas company or not. But the blades are high tensile strength plastic material so if you’re not poking things and your machine and you’re not forcing too thick clay for the space between the rollers your blade should last a very long time
You will most likely get the same one I did. I was told by other clay people they are sending all the new ones out now and didn’t update the photos. That is the same link I used, I personally am not sending them so I cannot promise anything but I myself received the new one and others told me they did as well, so fingers crossed it is the same for you. If not send back and say you want the new model. ☺️
Or are you telling me you already received it ? If so does it have removable blades because if it does it should work exactly the same as mine does. If it doesn’t have removable blades send back and tell them you want the new model. The new models have removable blades.
This one is the 180 which only means it’s slightly bigger than the 150 and the removable rods are on the new versions. I put a link in description for the one I got I cannot tell you what others to get because it won’t say new or old versions when purchased. I just know when I ordered from the link I provided it was new version.
Thanks! I ordered the 150!! But so you have to clean the pasta machine as soon as you get it before rolling clay? I am afraid of black streaks.. did that happen to you? I am new to this :(
@@EndlessLoveNyx I have not had that happen and did not clean before I used it. I honestly never thought about cleaning it before using it, so I’m glad that didn’t happen 😂
I’m trying to find out the production date of year is on the newest atlas 180. It should be on the bottom. Can you give me this info? I have a chance to buy one for a great price but I don’t want to purchase it if it’s the older atlas 180
The whole point is you don't have to get your machine monafied. You can clean the blades with ease without having to remove the end. I never got mine monafied . To me it was too costly. I'd rather get a motor. Which is definitely a blessing if you work with clay alot x
@@hazelparr8461 That is what i thought based on @sherbearsclay video. Mine is old and the rollers are pitted. It will be cheaper to buy new and get a motor.
Thank you so much for your video. What is the model number of your machine? I know it’s a 2024, but it would help if I could get the model number. Thanks for all your time and effort in making such an informative tutorial.
I searched on the machine and the motor and I unfortunately do not see anything that actually says model number if you wanted to know which exact one I have here is the link that I used to get mine amzn.to/3TXMXSn I’ll also put the link for the motor below this. If you know where I could find the model number please let me know and I will look for it for you, but for what I see on the actual machine and motor no model number is on there.
I just ordered the 180 from your link and unfortunately got the older version. :( Interesting that today when I looked at the same product, the price went up by $20+. I'm wondering if I got an older one in their stock and what they have left is now the newer version so they increased the price. I paid $66.92 and it is now showing at $89.19. I am really bummed as I was hopeful that I would get the newer version. Trying now to decide if I should send it back or get it modified through Mona Kissel. I am also going to write the seller and see if the 12 they have left in stock on amazon at the higher price is the newer version. I may just return and buyMona's modified one even though it will cost me a lot more. Or may just keep the one I have and wait until next year to hopefully get the newer version. So frustrating that they can't tell you which one they are selling instead of having to guess.
Oh no I’m so sorry, how disappointing to hear this. I was talking to another clay person when i ordered mine and he told me if i get the older version send bk and reorder and will probably get newer version but I got the newer version so idk. I would contact them and see if you could send bk and receive the newer version instead. Would probably be cheaper than having it modified.
I have followed your link to Amazon and they don't say that the blades can be removed. As I am in New zealand is there something I am missing in the listing that talks about being able to remove the blades?
That is the exact one I bought it didn’t say removable blade when I bought it either. To my understanding the blades were not as easy to remove in the past but since last January they are now sending the new versions with the removable blades, which is what I received. That’s the best I can tell you since I’m not the one shipping them. I just copied the link I used and posted it for everyone.
My suggestion is if you receive old version ship bk but I was also told that they are shipping new versions that’s why I ordered and happy received that, so I’m not sure what to really say. Sorry wish I could be more helpful
