I love how much ownership and initiative your daughter is trying to take. Great goals. I love that y’all take a long winter break. My goal is to take more and longer breaks especially once my husband retires from the Air Force and we can set firmer roots. Thanks for sharing.
I tried to be a go with the flow kind of mom. My results were similar to what you are describing! Yikes! January is a fresh start for us. I am back to my planner roots. 🎉
Those are great goals!💗☺️ I love that you encourage her to set goals for herself. One of my goals this year is also to have our independent reading time. Thank you for sharing! 💕💗
I am looking into Little School of Smith's Me and My Body unit as well as Waldock Way's human body unit study. I might actually try to blend and use both.
Guest Hollow has anatomy curriculum Sonlight has science with a video component you can just watch the video of the science experiment or do it along woth the teacher if you buy corresponding kit Rabbit Trails homeschooling has a n OT Bible curriculum Fortheloveofhomeschooling has an anatomy package too
When you assign reading do you just assign a book and when she finishes it assign another or do you say read so many minutes or so many chapters each day? Trying to decide how I want to start incorporating assigned reading. Currently I assign minutes of reading every day but it’s a book of their choice and not one I choose. Wondering if you have ideas on how to balance assigned reading with free choice reading?
Just an idea for the science experiments, my son had the same request so I got a subscription to generation genius to add in some science experiments. That made it easy for me and fun for my son. I’m also thinking of adding a human body unit study to our year so if you find a good one I’d love to hear about it 😊

Apologia Anatomy & Physiology with the Junior Notebooking journal was fun for my daughters when they were young 😊
The Pets unit from Gather Round would be fun too.
Harbor and Sproutb had a great human body /anatomy unit. My kids are 8 and 6 and they loved it.
We loved the good and beautiful human body unit!
You guys would love the Vet unit from Campfire. They are having a sale Jan.8th.
Yes! That’s my plan! I saw where you shared on IG so, thank you!

Also, Campfire Curriculums veterinarian unit is amazing and very hands on!
Thanks didn’t know that
Check out Apologia science for Human Body, Campfire for the Vet unit, and Answers in Genesis for creation of the Earth. What wonderful goals!!
Waldock way has human body and I’m sure she did a vet morning basket as well that would have tons of resource ideas.
We have been off of school since the 2nd week of November and don't go back until January!!!
Yay…I’m not alone! 😁
@@PearlsAndOak people think I'm crazy but it's what works for us and that's all that matters!

Curious why your family chooses an extensive break late fall/early winter?
It’s hunting and holiday season, so it works better for us to be off Nov/Dec/Jan instead of a summer break.
Any chance you could share your book report sheet?
Answers in Genesis has tons of Creation material.

I will do a video on this! I do a mix of things and it seems to work well for her.
@@PearlsAndOak looking forward to it! ☺️
