I have seen a real question here, "why indians support cricket", it is a big question, cricket does not actually demands any fitness, remember old sree lankan hitters like Jayasurya and Ranatunge with big stomach, they are basically unfit. In 80 s and 90 s cigaratte companies and cola companies wanted to penetrate into markets of poor countries like India, Pak, Sree lanka , west Indies, SA, Zimbabwe etc. Cricket is a big dinner for them, they can make viewers sitting one day infront of Television watching adds of cigaratte and cola companies. Time changed, now cricketers are working for fitness, but other super games like badminton and Tennis came 2nd to cricket in poor countries. My friend travelled through Europe, they know Padukone very well, but dont know Sachin or Kohli, Indians sports culture hijacked, Thanks to cigaratte and cola
