    This is perfect for me. I've been studying French off and on for many years now, but usually in written form since I don't know anyone local who speaks it, so I'm embarrassingly terrible at understanding it when spoken. Like English, the spoken language and the written language are so different. I hope I can go through this playlist and get good enough to step up to basic videos and songs that are a bit faster. Merci beaucoup pour tous les vidéos.

    Querida Dylane: Now that I am an "expert" in French verb conjugation . . . jajaja, I need, desperately, to listen and speak in French. If only all native French speakers, would speak as clearly and at a slower pace as you do, I would understand a lot more. I would like to hook up with a French speaker to tutor me and I, in turn, would tutor that person in English and/or Spanish and even a little Brazilian Portuguese (Portuñol). Keep up the good work! Saludos.

    Salut Dylane, great video! They all are!
    Just a quick question, when in french how do you distinguish between using "donne-moi" and "me donne"?
    Am I right in thinking that "donne-moi" is used when being affirmative/commanding, where as "me donne" is more use when asking... For example "peux-tu me donne une envoloppe?"
    Apologies if you cover this in another video.

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  2 года назад +1

      No need to apologize Jason :)
      Donne-moi is the imperative, which is the tense to give orders and commands. It's the equivalent of Give me something.
      Me donne is the present tense, used to express a fact - Elle me donne une enveloppe.
      If you feel like digging into conjugation, I have a complete course on this channel that you can watch :)

    I hear this every time before I study french. I can't seem to pronunciate words well without a time of listening before

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  2 года назад

      That's because you can't pronounce a sound if you can't hear it. The listening part is probably more important than the pronunciation one ;)

    @0:57, is it "Donne-moi une envelopppe s'il te plait" or "Donnes-moi une envelopppe s'il te plait"?
    2nd question, so for command in French, the sentence structure is Verb (te-conjugated form)-indirect object + direct object?

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  3 года назад +1

      In the imperative, the "tu" form doesn't take an S. And "me" turns into "moi".
      And you are correct 😉

    Je commence la lesson 1 de Listening Practice 1. Question 1: Je fais = I am baking? Question 2: I’ll prend du vin... = HE drinks...? Merci

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  4 года назад +1

      Good eye Hugh 😉
      The verbs FAIRE (je fais) and PRENDRE (Il prend) are versatile verbs in French. They can be used to replace other verbs such as "To bake" or "To drink".
      The translation of FAIRE is "To do / To make" and the translation of PRENDRE is "To take". But they have a lot more uses than that in French 😉 I have a video on the expressions with FAIRE from last year if you want 🙂

    Bonjour, sans vouloir vous offenser, ne prononce-t-on pas le 's' à la fin du mot 'ananas' ? C'est de cette façon qu'on me l'a enseigné mais je constate que les dictions diffèrent selon les personnes. Encore une richesse de notre belle langue. Bonne continuation !

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  4 года назад

      Je ne suis pas du tout offensée 😉 J'en ai parlé avec d'autres francophones et plusieurs d'entre nous disaient un "ananaS" quand c'est le dernier mot, ou en tout cas le dernier son. Mais un "anana" quand le mot est placé au milieu d'une phrase. Dans tous les cas, je pense que les deux fonctionnent 🙂
      Mais pourquoi regarder une vidéo de compréhension à l'audition ? Tu as vraiment un bon français.

      @@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Merci pour tes précisions et ton joli compliment en fin de réponse :-D En fait, je suis tombé par hasard sur une de tes vidéos et j'en ai regardé quelques unes dans la foulée. Je m'intéresse aux diverses méthodologies utilisées dans l'enseignement, quelle que soit la matière concernée. Par ailleurs, j'aime aller lire les échanges entre les professeurs et celles et ceux qui suivent leurs cours. Ça peut paraître surprenant mais on y voit très vite certains aspects des personnalités comme, par exemple, la patience et la gentillesse dont tu fais preuve.
