How to: Move your feet (Ashi-sabaki) - 足捌き - Aikido Virtual Dojo

  • In this video we move back to the basics and take a look at the different ashi-sabaki (足捌き) which are the foot movements.
    We call them also tai-sabaki (休捌き), which means Body movements
    In this video I show and explain the floowing movements:
    Tsugi-ashi (次足)
    Ayumi-ashi (歩み足)
    Kaiten (回転)
    Irimi kaiten (入身回転)
    Tenkan (転換)
    Irimi tenkan (入身転換)
    Tenshin (転身).
    I have seen some differences between the way these movements are done in different dojo's, so I also explain why we do them the way we do.
