Bakkies Botha will be remembered as one of the toughest rugby players ever. He never took a step back for anyone and his team mates knew they could always rely on him.
Solid in the line out, a monster in the tight loose and a demon on defense. Bakkies also had incredible pace for a lock and scored some memorable tries for the Bulls and the Springboks.

Such great skills and strength but a guy who resorts to cheap shots, dirty play and downright cheating will never imho be a true great. For that you have to be skilled and honest. BB was one but not the other. He will spend the rest of his life coming to terms with that. Great talent but sadly tarnished.
