Great to see you uploading again. It's been a while! Thank you for braving the weather. It's impressive to see what Man and Machine can do to engineer themselves out of a problem. Just a thought, back in the steam days trees/vegetation were kept cut well clear of running lines for fire prevention. I wouldn't know if landslips were more common then or not
"Excellent coverage from our intrepid reporter, live from the scene". Big thanks for the detailed explanation of what's been going on over there (and for battling the Darcy snowfield too!)
Interesting coverage. That certainly seems an essential job well done over that period of time! The sparks between the train and third rail at the end were pretty cool to watch in my opinion too. 👍

Really interesting video, thank you for the time and effort in making it. Far more interesting than the awful drivel on the television. Well done indeed!
Hey Morthren, great to see you're back. I'm not sure why, but one of your videos on abandoned harbor railways has disappeared, and I can't seem to find it or remember it's name. If I recall, it was the one mainly used for transportation of scrap, including old rail.
Glad to see another video from you. You definitely not a fair weather train spotter. This is the behind the scenes videos I love to watch. This is a magnificent video.
OMG! I was just thinking that I haven't seen any new video from you nearly a year then this popped up!!! Great video!!! You should go and look at the landslip near Tonbridge, that looks huge! EDIT - we also got a LOT of snow here too!
Must have taken lots of visits and revisits to get all that footage gradually! A lot of commitment there, great video! Love the very clear 'arching' when the train finally went past!
I see the snow & ice made the train nice and sparky, lol. Last year, US 231 in Morgan County between Huntsville and Arab, AL, had part of the road wash-out on the side of a hill due to a bunch of rain we'd gotten around this time last year. Thankfully though, the contractor ALDOT hired was able to get the road reopened well ahead of schedule, much to the relief of anyone who lived south of there and had to commute to Huntsville regularly.
Morthren, welcome back! Hope all is well. Did those Balfour Beatty guys spot you your first time trackside and then post their signage so as to get some free publicity? You were in a cow field--as near as I can tell that sign was positioned perfectly so that the only one who could see it was the bloke with the camera. Lol!
A complete reversal of the attitude towards Lineside foliage of course - go on other days when it was thought that the network of roots would help to knit the ground together. Priority now is to simply avoid leaf fall onto the permanent way.
Almost a year since your last upload, good to see you're back

Rain or shine, snow or mud, Morthren, you trudge through it to show us an inside look of the many things that happen behind the fences on the rails.
Glad to see you're back doing videos. Thank you.
Thank you too!

Nice to see a vid from you again! I already asked myself what may happen to you. Sometimes, youtubers just fade away. But now you're back.
A good day when a new Morthren video pops up in my notifications. Top quality content as per normal!
Great to see you back
Great video
Hey, thanks!

Great work , there has been a good few landslips this year around the country . Nicely documented ....
Many thanks!

Thanks! I think I must have visited about 8 times over the 2 weeks or so they were there.
Really like your videos especially when tracing old rail lines but the wait between your postings is so long.

Who down voted? Great to see you back chap. Lovely vid as always.
Welcome back :) You might want to check the date at the end of your film the 8th - cheers, Brian
Thanks. Arghh, it's always the obvious things I miss. That should have said 8th of February 2021
You're not alone @@morthren I think most of us have been there, including me (after the upload). Cheers, Brian
The train was late because it was trying to weld itself to the track!!!
Very interesting video
Thanks!
Great Video, very informative.

I like how RUclips auto-generated some random chapters based on your captions.
Dangerous Landslip
There was really heavy rain yesterday it was insane!
Ice on the third rail. Train performance characteristics limited. Sparking like crazy.
I bet that trees reinforce banks. Interesting that steam trains coped with leaves…
What is your camera ?
What's the difference between landslip and landslide? Landslip a bit less severe? Pff!
