- Between being the hardest working sonovabitch I know and the covid pandemic, Pat Reedy still finds time to write some beautiful songs.
It hasn't been the easiest year for music. I talked to Pat Reedy last year helping book his summer 2020 tour. Which was gonna give us two honky tonk nights with him in Wyoming. Pat had recently said that he finally had been able to make a living off of music. Which I can speak for everyone that once a musician gets to that point, you can smile and know they're gonna be fine.
So if I couldn't get Pat Reedy to Wyoming, I had to bring Wyoming to Pat Reedy.

I know it was just a throwaway remark before starting a song, but still, there is a certain level of character in a person, especially in such divisive times, when they still call people they may disagree with friends.

Most likely he is referring to conspiracy theories leading to 1930/1940's Germany. 'Far right' might be a misnomer depending on the political scientist you ask but these conspiracy theories led to the death of millions even though they were patently untrue.
Communism, at least where it has been implemented, has led to the death of millions as well but the murder and the brutal subjugation that has been derived from it is not necessarily explicitly stated in Marx's teachings. Again this could also be argued but there is nothing as explicit as the Final Solution for instance in Marx's teachings.
That is just my take on it though. In case anyone gets upset; I am not a supporter of communism.

Funny, California, the most western of states, has most of the hipsters. And I looked up the top 10 most popular artists on this channel and there are two folks from Arkansas, one Arizona, one Nevada, one Montana, one from Texas, one Washington state, one from Canada which the lifestyles now are nearly identical to what the west was like, and the few outliers are from Louisiana and West Virginia which are respectable roots music regions. I'm sure the pattern continues. Nice try though.
