Roughly my favourite of this new RD sounds album, really really awesome song. Everything is so epic, so brave, so... Reimu. And I got the Tooe Gaen reference, happy to know you are into monogatari too
"Upon my name, we must rule together". I mean no offence, but I've read kafka's translation before. This ought to be a proclamation of spell card rules. "We must rule together" sounds like preamble to a constitution for united government of sorts. On the other hand, do you translate songs on your own? Because if so, I must admit I admire your skill, I just love this great song.
+Sulejman YU Well, it kind of is like that? I mean, such a rule has meaning only if yokai agree to respect it. Also, please note that the first line is very, very hard to understand to begin with, since it's written in almost a biblical way, there's many way to interpret it. And yes, I do translate some songs on my own, I always state the translator in the description.
What are the spell card rules but the means by which the peace is maintained between the humans and Youkai in Gensokyo, thus allowing them to rule the land together in peace rather than be locked in an endless war? I'll grant you that Gensokyo really isn't ruled in the traditional sense, but to say that there is no leadership would be completely false. There's definitely a loose coalition of powerful Youkai and humans that are essentially in charge of Gensokyo, and I really don't see the difference between proclaiming the spell card rules and proclaiming the founding of the "country" of Gensokyo formed through the alliance of those humans and Youkai. That said, Kafka-fuura's translation is good too, and I'm not really sure I'd say either one is better. They just both give the lyrics a different sort of feeling to them.
Rika Furude Well, actually, I'd like to know how the law works in Gensokyo. From what I know, ZUN has never stated that, I'd actually like to know that

Dislike the translation. Reimu is not proclaiming an empire, duh, she's proclaiming the spell card rules.
I've got seriously no idea where you've got this "empire" from.
