- In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court (SC) sided with former senator Antonio Trillanes IV, upholding the latter's amnesty.
By doing so, the SC contradicted former Rodrigo Duterte and struck down his Proclamation No. 527 that ordered the revocation of the former senator's amnesty.
In this episode of Rappler Talk, justice reporter Jairo Bolledo sits down with Trillanes to discuss his reaction on his SC win and his plans moving forward.

Common sense says that of all those who applied for amnesty, the group of then Navy Lt. Senior Grade Antonio Trillanes IV at that time, it's only Trillanes' application that allegedly does not exist on file. How come he was granted amnesty by Pnoy together with his comrades? Just as simple as applying for a passport (new or renewal), it cannot be processed without the application filled out by the applicant with the required information. Congratulations to you, former Sen. Trillanes, for fighting so hard for the truth, and kudos to the SC for their decision in this case! There's still justice, even if it takes time. Sometimes people lose hope, especially those without financial capability, or in other situations, when power, wealth, and connection are used by some powerful individuals against those they do not agree with and they consider opponents, in my opinion!
