Youve probably beaten him already but for future people seeing this, after the first run he will always start with a cutscene grab attempt, followed by a 2 hit combo, simply run all the way to the other side of the arena right underneath him, then dodge the last hit, youll be out of range for the first you are just dodging the dog, and then he will talk to you if youre far enough away, just dont dodge towards him. Then do everything as said in the video

But after doing it how many times i had to first half of the fight memorized of what to do, in the end i still made a few mistakes and had to fight him without my extra monkeys because he knocked me as i started casting the spell.. I was so on edge haha but i fucking did it and haven't cheered after beating a boss in a game for so long. Was such a good feeling!

Great build, I'll use the bat on my next playthrough for sure. On the last figt, you should be using the rock form as frequent as possible, when he breaks you get a lot of focus. Makes the fight much easier.

Hallelujah! This strategy finally worked for me after trying countless times. The subsequent four kings and final Erlang were simple compared to the first.
Tried for probably 6 hours using pillar stance and got close a few times. I was going insane trying to beat this boss, didn’t even need the armor or staff listed in this video once I used this strat. Beat the boss first try. Subbing for sure. Keep up the good content.
I didn’t change my build at all, simply using the Plantain Fan and the Apramana Bat at the proper times was enough for me to beat him on my first attempt after seeing this. Thanks for the solid tips

This was the hardest boss to find a spell/spirit setup that allowed me to get my heavy attacks off In the second half of this fight without him dodging It and pissing me off lol I was so close so many times, and your suggestion helped a ton. I wasn’t able to replicate your qi regen with the spin(and pressing forward), so I used the fan, immobilized, pluck, smashed the shit out of him, then bat freeze for more damage. I was able to burst him down to 50%, and then largely used the rest of my mana to cloud step his BS attacks. Great guide again, sub from me 👍

Thank you for the help! Finally got it. During the giant fight i focused on countering with rock solid and then you can get a combo off. A 3 bar focus move does tons of damage then counter and repeat

on my ng++ now and still using your method for the 3rd time, thanks! I'm using the Golden set and the highest crit rate weapon for it's passive i can get the fan vessel faster this way and works for me
Great guide, really helped. I just add up golden armour (which offer Qi on critical hit) that also helped. so my routine was FAN > HEAVY HIT > BAT > STAFF SPIN > IMMOBILIZE > STAFF SPIN.... stall for a bit, gourd + some hits to activate fan again and then repeat.

I got at least 5 of his shield bars- I had his health down to almost dead and another one of his shields popped up.I finally killed him later and the game glitched after Cyan fang beast.I had to start all over after killing Cyan-Not happy Thank you! It was a great method and worked very well

I tried so many YT strats and this one worked. I didn't follow it exactly but I BEAT HIM. Pro tip: Use Azure Dust spell with this strat in case his shield goes back up it will deplete his shield without him fighting. Thanks man!
