    He was incredible...the absolute perfect defense destroying Striker...he gave every team self confidence... because you just KNEW he would probably get the ball in there....look at his bicycle kicks, his headers and volleys....boy what a brilliant striker he was...look at the last goal. Only the best of the best can score a goal like that...

    I love the way Klinsmann celebrated every goal. He was like a boy trapped in a man's body, and whoever assisted him he always gave them applauds. Its a shame Spurs didn't match his ambitions, we were lucky to have him. What a wonderful memory for him to play for Spurs.

    • @alexisverpakovskis857
      @alexisverpakovskis857 2 года назад +4

      After playing out a phenomenal season for Spurs in 94-95, he was claimed by that huge infernal vortex known as Bayern Munich: the BLACK HOLE of European football - and not since yesterday either... and he was neither the first, nor the last great player to be absolutely miserable there, in spite of European success...
      Sick inside, FC Bayern. It's considered a tragedy if they don't win the Bundesliga - so they've taken to bleeding the rest of the German top tier dry of talent; how many pristine and highly gifted, versatile and intelligent players have sat on the bench for Bayern for the majority of their contracts, only to leave exhausted, heartbroken - and a shadow of their former selves: Miroslav Klose, Mario Götze and Alexander Tickler, just to name a few - and probably no one more so than Lukas Podolski.
      Anyway, sorry for going on a tangent: out of his entire illustrious career that included lifting the World Cup, the European cup, the UEFA Cup and every domestic title at one point or another, be it Germany, Italy, France or England... his warmest and happiest memories are from his first spell at Tottenham, as he confessed in an interview. (Looking for it as we speak.) Fair play Spurs: team mates, management - and especially the fans! And you have to consider that Tottenham were a minor team at the time by comparison to Inter Milan and especially Bayern Munich...
      Why Kevin Keegan never made an attempt to get him for Newcastle in time for the 95-96 season, I will never know. They literally would have finished 10 points ahead of Man Utd. had that come to pass.

    I think, including his loan spell in 97/98, he scored 38 times in 65 games. It always seemed like he was capable of scoring many more, but he was an opportunist and elegant striker.

Klinsmann was my favourite player still is and he was only with us for 1 season before his return for half a season on loan but still had a massive impacted on me as a spurs fan. also in 97/98 him coming in on loan in January it was his goals that kept us in the prem crazy to think we were that close to relegation and who knows what would have been if we had gone down because we then ended up in financial trouble a few years later anyway 😱😱
