I finally understand the side-to-side rockit after this video. I’ve been doing this exercise in your programs, but didn’t quite get the point. You’re right, it’s annoying. But in this video, you gave a couple of additional coaching cues about rotation that really clicked for me. This exercise happened to come up this week in my progression through the Basis of Strength program and I finally feel clear about how to do it correctly. Your instruction in this video is a huge help. Thanks!!
Rotating my knee pits like I'm trying to pull the ground apart between my feet (barefoot on level floor with decent friction between my skin and floor) has helped me maintain my feet pointing straight ahead instructions.. trying to rip the ground apart actually helps with the hip hinge for deadlifts too
For rotational movements, I picture being iron man and having that light in the middle of my chest. I think about where it needs to be aimed for rotational movements, which usually means aiming it in the same direction as the tip of the club.
I would like to see you do a video on doing a single hand rocket with a kettlebell. A few years ago, you did a video (consisting of swings, staggered suitcase deadlift and rock its) for the ladies. One of my favorites; so I am familiar with rock its. I am short. Clubs are long. I can see myself beating the ground. Then again, I can see myself beating up my shins if I only use one hand with a kettlebell. Something to think about.
Mark, in terms of feet facing forwards, as mine turn out especially my right foot, straight ahead with this creates too much tension in my knee. While i get the need for the arch not to collapse along with the ankle here what would your advice be?
@@thierryst-pierre2166 do u mean bending the knees? isn't that desirable ? What I meant was that bending the elbows is undesirable here but there is a forced assymetry in the arm lengths so there is the risk of bending the longer one. But in KB, the grip is symmetrical so there is no such risk...
@@MarkWildman Mark, I absolutely love some of your content. Your neck mobility exercise (which I do every day ever since I first tried it) has saved me a lot of trouble and discomfort. Thank you very much for that one! And the core of your swinging exercises is also invaluable. But this bullshit halo you are are trying to create around it is not to my taste - sorry. There's a vast Indian and Persian history to heavy swinging but that somehow, miraculously goes all without the fancy vocabulary you are trying to create... Now, to discipline. Mark, I have for the past 27 months lived in a teepee. I don't need your "insight" as to why I find this particular exercise excruciatingly boring and therefore useless. Especially not from a man with a belly. Where is you six pack, Mark? I am 46 year old and I do have one. How about you? It's an embarrassment. How can someone who's trying to build a fitness RUclips channel have a belly? There's only one explanation - no discipline. Of course it's mostly about what you eat and how you eat. And how much zone 2 training you do. I could give you advice on those. Seriously.
Can't wait for the 1H club program!
Great communicator… and the helmet in the back for the win!!
Rock it Man, Rocketman.

This seems perfect addition to rehab after foot surgery with accompanying hip problems.
Again, perfect explenation - as ALWAYS! 👌 💪

Will try this with the arc I think
I had the same thought
Great instruction, I find one foot even moves on a standard swing
Am I the only person taking notice of that super crazy bike on the left?
Recumbent electric chopper bike

This seems to replicate skiing movement, with internal rotation at the hips of the legs
About 3 minutes in, I realized I was looking at a "Chopper"/electric bicycle.
Easy Velo? Pedal Hog?
👍
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
How is the lower back? Arched, rounded, or flat?
🤘
I gotta ask again, cuz I can't find the video, but what brand are those bots you're wearing?

🤘🏼
Any advantage in clubs over kettlebells here?
Seems that in kettlebells the hand position would be more natural...
You’d be bending a lot deeper with a kettle

It looks like it puts some amount of rotation on the knee, which supposedly isn't good.
This is obviously a high rep exercise. But how do I get to hundreds of reps when I get bored after about 6?
Discipline
