Ooooh, the COMPOSITION!! Coach Julia huge and looming in the foreground, and no emotion expressed by her cuz no visible face. She's probably stone faced on the other side too, so, it's all implication that brings across that tortured inner monologue that you suggested in the beginning! I can just IMAGINE the depressing music that'd be playing, and the slow-mo shouting of Nathan (human) and Karina's magic winding up, and a slow zoom in on Coach's back with the hand on the baseball bat trembling as the only indication of her emotional state! I got a FILM running in my head, from this still image, that is some GOOD WORK, MY DUDE! I don't know sports anime either, lol, only one I watched more than one episode of was Yuri On Ice, and I'm not too proud to admit - I didn't watch it for the sports part XD The character arc of Coach pushing Jacob too hard reminds me of Kung Fu Panda 1 actually, with Sifu being so cold to Tigress b/c of his previous failure with Tai Lung the snow-leopard man that had to be locked up... That's all I got. Maybe the next part is that Coach Julia LEAVES to go seek wisdom from HER coach, who is very old and like the turtle-guy from Kung Fu Panda lol. I was baffled by the bright-blue lighting choice for all the bg characters, with Coach still very dark, UNTIL YOU PUT ON THE RIM LIGHTING, and I was like "OoooHHH! It all makes sense now! Lighting source identified!!" That was a great moment LOL
This image is savage (in a great way). I love the concept of Jacob pushing himself too hard and having to be supported by his friends. Taskmaster Julia is so intimidating even from the back. Your backgrounds are always so beautiful, and this one is elaborate with all the seats in the stands. Fantastic work.

Rugby doesn't have much rep in sports anime, so glad to see my home country's second-favourite sports child getting some love :p Two ideas that the newest (as of commenting) Drawfee video has given me is either a piece with all of Jacob's (or Drawfee's in general) nonbiney characters, or a piece with all the weapon-wielders from the randomly-generated weapons (both videos) plus your own using the same generator! For a different vibe, please do *anything* with Drawfee's Legend of Krys series! Heroes, villains, just Luci/Krys, a final battle, anything! I love that series so much, and despite Krys being in the Drawfee & anniversary banners, I see so little of him!
Honestly, sports anime can have serious gay vibes sometimes! The main characters in Haikyu and especially in SK8 the Infinity have so much subtext it’s ridiculous(ly cute). Definitely recommend them for that reason alone!

I don't know if that's fertile ground for you to draw from, but during Julia's King Egg and Business Bull drawing when Caldwell sings "This is why he's kiiing!" Is running through my head constantly.
Oooh Red and Blue look like Kuroko and......Red guy...from Basketball anime. I love sports anime Haikyuu is my favourite anime but I really couldn't get into Kuroko no Basket. I gave it a good shot! 😂 maybe try Free! It's just more about angsty boys swimming through their feelings and less about the swimming competitions 😂
hey i also draw in procreate and theres a few ways i get the drop tool to work for me, first is that I use a thick line art that i eventually erase, next if you drop in the color and hold the color there for a few seconds itll bring up a slide to which you can adjust to have it meet the edges of your line art. Its not perfect and i dont know if you already know all of this, the select tool is a mess and i can never get it to work for me, but yeah this is the best that ive come up with but maybe theres better methods out there
Since you already did sports anime, I beg of you to do something silly and fun with the Drawfee Bad JRPG series. Maybe make what is meant to be like a screenshot from the actual game.
