Wow, I have been searching for this answer FOREVER! I tutor Germans in conversation English and they always mess this up, like saying "The friend of my mother plays tennis." I would tell them it's "My mother's friend plays tennis" but I couldn't explain why. Thank you!

I've been looking for a video like this for a long time and finally I could find it. But still something confuses me. The thing is, as you said before "The mountain top" and "The top of the Mountain" all of them are correct but while speaking I can't choose which one would be better in the context. I think, when we use 'of version' the meaning has a little emphasise right? That's why you said "generally using 'of' is a bit formal". I hope I could transfer what I meant. Thanks in advance!
(By the way, I'm from Turkey and we have the same situation in turkish let me give an example:
Dağın zirvesi -> The top of the Mountain
Dağ zirvesi -> The mountain top
I hope someone can reply on my message. Because I've been waiting an answer to this question for a long time... Thanks! )

I asked chatGPT about using 's with a time period. It answered: "it's not appropriate to use the possessive form "morning's" to refer to a meeting that takes place in the morning. In English, it's more common to simply use the noun "morning" as a modifier in a noun phrase, rather than using the possessive form"

It is very important to have the correct possessive pronoun for the object you are describing, because the pronoun will replace the entire object itself
