This! I was running thru the field in a has and ended up pole on hard difficulty
The AI aren't good for fighting for position. It was way way too easy for ben to defend his position, particularly when he knows the tips and tricks to this game.
The Sauber should also be second worst by a margin, only ahead of Alpine, though Alpine may have jumped them irl, but for the game I just consider the first few races for now

Maybe it's just me but for realism it shouldn't matter if you're an esports racer or a casual, on 110 difficulty you should be out in Q1 and fighting for at most around 15th until you've got a handful of upgrades on your car
I started watching around 2018 or so and I remember many videos where the above was the case. So much more satisfying to watch improvements rather than fighting for top 5 in a shit car from race 1

That’s how it is for me I play on 65 ai with a wheel and all assists off but I still don’t have the pace I get top 10 most races but I feel like there is some big problem that’s holding me back
For me, i get better results ( thus the game feels easier) while underdevelped. Once the upgrades start to kick, i cant keep the potential of the car, and instead of improving, i start fallig behind. maybe this is the reason for the odd feeling, while the game is on the low tech stage, AI is sandbagged proportionally.
I think it’s because the AI doesn’t use overtake on their flying laps and that would explain why he’s so quick in Sector 2 because he’s using overtake and the AI isn’t so that’s why in my career mode I only use hotlap on my qualifying laps to make it more even. The sauber is also just a lot better than it is irl
You can't even blame the AI my teammate is in 2nd. I'm dying here lmao :)
I think teammate gets a speed boost if you exceed the expected pace of the car to keep it feeling somewhat realistic

Only up to the end of Q3 so far, but given its a completely new drive for you, the laps you put in when it mattered were exceptional and your pole lap was sublime. Great job!
Edit: Just watched to the end, you defended like a lion! Not a foot put wrong all race. Say what you like about the AI difficulty on this game but they were still clearly fast, that was a solid drive.

A.I are utterly pathetic in this game. Even overlooking the lack of pace they have, they have zero racecraft. Ben just parks his car along side them at every turn and they back out regardless of it's their corner or not.

Honestly watching these live on stream is a better way of watching purely down to Ben being a fun guy to watch live and plus you got career mode and online stuff in one go it was nice

Hey Ben, the AI doesn’t use overtake on their flying laps which would explain why ur so quick because Australia is a high speed track and would explain why ur so quick in Sector 2. In my career mode, I only use hotlap mode to even it out and the sauber is also just a lot quicker than it is IRL. It’s like they switched the VCARB and the Sauber because VCARB usually compete near the top 10

I wish the AI were more aggressive. Like if you're holding them back a lot there should be some "frustration meter" of some sort, which makes them go for passes more aggressively the longer they're stuck behind someone. Would go far on making it more realistic IMO

thing is maybe looking at this video your bas laptime during the race surpasses the lap record set by charles which was a 1:19.8. I doubt the sauber after 3 upgrades is faster than the ferrari's irl were. Something is funky with the car performance at least when you recorded this.

ERS also seems way too easy to recover for how powerful it is.
Obviously we don't know how quickly the real cars recover it and we also dont specifically know how and when they're using it but against AI you should be able to almost defend and stay ahead forever if overtake is more powerful than DRS

AI pace is bad and some underlying issues
- Your teams car performance is inaccurate to what the permance graph shows
- AI pace is bad
- AI always have No ERS on 2nd to last and last lap for some unknown reason.

I really don't understand why so many people are complaining about the game. I actually love a pointy car so I'm fine with the handling. The only thing that could have been better for me is the traction in the game. I'm playing with a 90% diff on throttle and it still feels kinda meh.

Please please please upload more then 2 seasons of this series I got brought in by aarava to RUclips f1 content and I like you both but I enjoy yours more! The only difference is he stays consistent through multiple seasons/till the next game. I know you do other content such as multiplayer seasons but single season and the multiplayer would catapult you to a different league in my opinion!!! Love the videos

I feel you don't understand how that Delta of the tires work...
It shows how much difference there is in the tires at their current wear state if you would go out again. It doesn't mean the new tires will go that 1s faster, it means that if you did a new run in the used tires and a new run on the new tires, between THOSE runs there is a second difference
Not a second to the run you've already done because there was less wear on the start of that run than on the end
