Federal deficit climbs to $61.9B as Freeland resigns

Hours after Chrystia Freeland resigned as finance minister, the federal government tabled a fall economic statement that pushed the federal deficit to nearly $61.9 billion due largely to $20 billion in new spending that Freeland criticized in her resignation.
