You have tons of young ones watching you. Please do it the correct way. They learning from you. If it was getting fuel to the gas line, putting fuel in same inlet port will do nothing. Put some in the spark plug hole. Then if it starts. You know it’s the carb needing a tear down just because gas goes in the carb means nothing. Keep up the vids
@@jaydensdream714 I actually am serious man . This is standard diagnosing practice. Ignoring the fact it had no compression . We are talking about fuel delivery only . Who in the hell pulls a carb and cleans it if you don’t know fuel delivery is a problem . One minute it takes to pull the plug and put a few drops of fuel in and see if it fires . What the hell does dumping fuel in the in the inlet port if the carb do, knowing the fuel tank was dumping it in there . Not a god damn thing. That’s what . Guys like him have a following of young kids learning what he does . That is the reason I call him on some shit that isn’t proper procedure.

Jep, 100% overheated! There’s a splitter so the oil pump is connected to the throttle. Worked alot on 2stroke engines with these kind of oil pumps. I suggest to premix the gas with oil so its way more reliable. I’ve seen alot of engine’s seized due this problem.. good luck man! Greets from the netherlands
@@backyardbangers1012 depends, if the engine was locked up when it overheated it could’ve messed up the botten end. Howerver, looking at piston (and rings) and cilinder it looked like it expended just enough to seize. He should check the crankshaft for play. Its oke to have a little play but not to much

Hey, I used to save the same quad. Mine was called a Kolpin 90. Kolpin was bought out by polaris and then Polaris made the Predator 90 to be a replica of the Kolpin 90. I used to have the same problem as what your having but when I had replaced the top end, I only had put new gaskets since the new piston and rings didn't fit due to me needing to bore it out. It still didn't run after that either. It wanted to but I always needed to keep my finger on the throttle because otherwise, it would die. You should check the reeds as well and see if they're good! I never knew it had rings until I took the carburetor off and found out that there were reeds right behind the carb boot. Hope you get it fixed. Great vid with information.
I've seen a lot of mechanics age prematurely, mostly because of their inability to handle stress. You seem to have a great attitude about any situation you encounter and I have no doubt that you will be successful in the business in any capacity you choose. It looks like one little thing started a chain reaction of destruction in that engine. I wonder if the plastic part that connects the 2 lower cables to the upper throttle cable has snapped, or maybe it had been reassembled incorrectly when the upper cable was replaced. Hoping you get lucky with the crank bearings. They do retain a little lubricating oil after the cylinder has burned through it's last drop. Looks like possibly an easy fix.
can you please explain how you got the stator cover off... that part was skipped, i have a 2001 and can't figure out where to start taking plastics off.
So you have to b careful when you delete the oil pump.you really need to re-jet when you do that because the stock jetting is for straight gas.when you mix 2 cycle oil in the gas,it becomes a thicker liquid, and you can only squeeze so much through the already lean stock jetting!! Just a little tip from a 50 plus year old master technician.

I'm sure you know this but you can hold spark plug to any part of the frame it doesn't have to be the engine case as long as case is grounded to frame.

if that thing ran without any oil from failed oil pump tehn the bottom end is trashed aswell , big end probably has play or it will sonner rather then later
Hey get a zoom spout bottle for your gas.get them on Amazon I use them they work great. They come with sewing machine oil in them .I used the oil then use them for gas

Get a eton viper 90 but get the two stroke version with the power band and cut the rev limiter wire of the Cdi box to make it more faster and more power I have one and there tanks
When your turning it over it sounds like the rings are non existent or I have seen quads break a rod and sounds just like that the motor is turning over way to easy

I think you are right this was caused by the oil pump stop working and caused a major melt down
70 dollar kit on eBay. I put one on my arctic cat 90 runs great.
What about air you should start checking the filter and the boot there might be some debree and that can get in the engine.

I would be checking the crank bearings if it was ran dry then heated up, my best bet there scored.

Those 90s and 50s Polaris early 2000s are notorious for the stator going bad. Get a Rick's if that's the case

It will not start without a breather I have on would not pop over i got a air filter box and air filter and fired up and ran perfect
They pulled the float bowl to high so less gas was going to the carb and did not have enough fuel to go up the hill
