I believe Carl Stamitz also wrote a concerto for two clarinets? He probably did more to get the clarinet launched on its road to greatness than any other composer. Certainly his concertos of the 1770s would have inspired Mozart's love of the instrument! Nicely performed!
Actually this concerto was composed for two clarinets or clarinet and Violine. Yes, Mozart heard clarinets for the first time in Mannheim in the Stamitz orchestra (1777), since He loved this instrument very much.
