If those three board members refuse to participate, then they are not doing their jobs and therefore are relinquishing their jobs, and as a result, voting should be entirely decided by the two remaining members.
200% agree. Some of these people seem to grossly misunderstand what their job is and who they work for.

I hope you stay on top of this story and get the answers these board members are searching for. Who is investigating? How much will this third party get paid and where is the money coming from to pay it? I hope you're at the next board meeting and can ask important questions like why are the other 3 board members not coming to meetings, and why the superintendent isn't being reviewed on a yearly bases. The public needs the answers.
And Antioch voters just passed Measure B to give AUSD a huge bond of money. I and my family voted no because of these people in office. Sadly the measure passed.

I remember when I attended Antioch high school they passed out voter registration forms and asked us to vote on a bill that could provide funding to the school. When I asked if any of those funds would go towards the long neglected music program at AHS the principal turned the whole student body on me by claiming that the money wouldn’t be going to any one single department at the school. Two years later they got a new weight room cafeteria library and track and the kids in the band class were still using the same old rusty instruments so that money ultimately benefited the sports program above all else. AUSD is forever corrupt in my eyes.
She needs to step down as well as those 3 school board members who are refusing to take action against a bully.

Nah, the guy had super lazy people on his staff that didn't a do a good job (I worked with one of the guys on his staff, so I have some inside knowledge of what is going on) and he was trying to get rid of them. He just went about it all wrong.
Sadly in education the easiest way to get rid of bad employees is to make them so uncomfortable they leave on their own. It's far too easy in this business to coast to a paycheck if you want.

@@mrsleep0000 There is a due process to terminate employees. It wouldn't have been difficult if they weren't doing their job. Whoever your inside informant is obviously doesn't understand employment termination.
@@mrsleep0000 smells as if you have multiple accounts and are making multiple different comments with those accounts. Smells like these comments should be gathered as possible evidence in the investigation probably against you.
That superintendent should not be allowed to hold any position in education field. She is an enabler and a contributor to the bullying. She allowed this to happen.

Sue them and have lawyers do discovery for text, emails, the truth will then come out.
This lack of action by the board (the three sandbaggers) is a real problem. It indicates much more is going on that is problematic.
Keep investigating and publishing, NBC Bay Area. We need answers. How will the superintendent be able to report the results of an independent investigation? If it is independent, how will she know the results? PLEASE keep digging.
I use to live in the Bay Area… I’m now up in Portland Oregon- I’ve been following this story from the bullying of the employees to where it is now.. The twists and turns this has taken..
If the grown up can't stop bullying themselves how they going to stop kids from doing it.

Kudos to Mr. Hernandez and Mx. Lathan on their commitment to integrity and to the students that they serve. The assholes that are trying to cover up the wrongdoings of the superintendent and the maintenance director should be shamed and feel disgusted by their actions. Complicity is not cute, nor is it of any service to the student body they were elected to serve.
