I have the orange Bronco. With the $5 slow crawl gearset, this rig can pretty much do it all. I added some brass, aluminum bead locks and more aggressive tires. I changed both plastic diff gears with metal. It's a great little crawler, planning to purchase another one real soon...
I just got a defender a few days ago. I definitely like it better than the scx24. Seems a lot more well built. And the 24 was just a bit too small for outdoors, for me anyway. Hopefully Traxxas comes out with different bodies for them. I'm considering the jeep body from injora. Great review
Not only a great platform for people but all the upgrades will make it a hit for sure. I ordered mine about a 3 weeks ago on the Traxxas site & status is still saying Pending. But I’m not in a hurry got the order in I got the Defender in Silver & brass diff covers to start. Probably get Injora wheels for it then the low gear complete motor & trans. Thanks for another great video & info. A lot of the RC’s you have are ones I have as well. I’d love to see more videos for sure. Any knowledge or thoughts for installing a Injora Jeep 4 door hard body onto a Traxxas Sport Truck? I’ve got one one the way & wont miss the Truck Body. But I had it out & that light body makes it very capable. I was quickly reminded how good the Sport Truck is.
Thanks my friend! You will be digging the 4M! Upgrading them is going to be very fun and the low cost of parts is such a bonus! Regarding the 4 Dr body on a sport……I haven’t tried it yet but I have been looking at the Cherokee body and making it work. I know people have had great success with that body/platform combo. I think the old Sport deserves a new body for Christmas 🎄👍 Let me know if you get there first and have any tips!
Great review. I’m loving mine.I’ve done a couple mods to it already for rock crawling, but out of the box this little rc is great, capable and fun.Heading out with mine to rock crawl right now.
Looks fantastic! I wasnt going to get one ,but since I have no character what so ever when it comes to rc,i pulled the trigger on a blue Defender 😎😋 they had a pretty good black week deal on it for about 2000 swedish kronor instead of 2290 kronor so that was a decent price. Dont know how much that is i dollars but I am sure you can tell me. Anyway thanks for sharing and have a great week my friend!🙂👍🇸🇪🇺🇸
Hahaha YES! The Defender unbox is coming next then a comparison video between the two. Man that’s $190 USD……..you got a deal!! You’re going to be impressed with it.
Very nice overview of this little rig. I always enjoy your vids and I like this scale a lot. Anything smaller just isnt my thing. My wife has cut off the wallet for now because I just built a 1/10 LCG rig so no more purchases for me as far as rigs. I wish I had the $$ to do it though. I spent more than I expected on my crawler build so she's a bit upset.
Thanks for the feedback my friend! I’ve heard of others running into your issue so you’re not alone……it’s funny how fast the $$$ can add up. Bet it’s an awesome truck though. The good thing about the 1/18th scale is it will be easier to sneak in and hide it in the house lol 😂
