I think the Fender JB77-MM tone is closer to Aoki's BOW Bass; it has more bite towards the "highs" compared to other basses. I think the position of the bridge pickup 1/4 closer to the bridge like any 70s-style Jazz Bass, including Aoki's BOW, makes it stand out when it comes to the mix. It has that "honk" sound when it gets plucked on the G-string. Let's say it has a twangy-like tone because of the brightness of the sound.

BOW Aoki model jazz bass is made by Aoki instruments in Fujisawa city (Mr.Aoki’s birthplace) We can listen BOW bass’s super cool tone on double face album (his first solo album)
