The East Bay Dragons MC is an all-black, all-male, all-Harley Davidson riding motorcycle club founded in Oakland, California, in 1959 by Tobie Gene Levingston, who died in July 2020
I'm from the Bay. I know one of the Presidents of a "Black MC Club". It's not a flex at all. This man is a Very Good Man. Very Good Man. Family Man. I grew up as a boy around the 1%er's. I'm a white man that grew up in that life as a boy. But you get to meet very good men that are Loyal like you never seen.
I grew up 81. I got mad love for all my clubs. And the upmost respect. They do more for the community than the government. Toy drives and charities and helping sick kids. Love those guys.
Story goes, that wasn't the only HD dealership that did that. But the Founders of HD made sure they let a black man own his own HD dealership, his name was William B Johnson..

If you want to read their story there is a book on the Dragons: Soul on Bikes The East Bay Dragons and The Black Biker Set. It is out of print now and you will have to buy a used copy and they are available but expensive.

I’ve been to a lot of events and parties in the bay with my club. Met so many of them. There’s a reason those guys carry so much respect in the bay. All about the character of the brothers.

There was a period in my life as a prospect to a MC, they would ask about Hollister, East Bay dragons and so on, on learning information in these things asked I remember learning about East Bay Dragons, I also believe they were also the first Black MC on the West Coast
And most 'Black' clubs welcome men of any race as potential full patch members

I am not PREJUDICE , and I thought that was pretty crappy back then , a lot of black had more knowledge than white and any other CULTURE , I do know they built some nice bikes 😎 when I was a kid , some of the Mexican Spanish low riders doing all the beautiful paintwork and all of that , that is right they learned it from the black CULTURE NOT all of it but a good 30%

Where I’m from (Delaware) there’s a 1% club that’s all black… Thunderguards. They are some good dudes, I used to shoot pool with one of their members many years ago.

look into the history more hotel California a long held democratic state they seem to have a bias towards white people, and have the worst crime rates and pockets where there are very few non-whites. As 2nd gen Mexican born and raised in the bay area it seemed to be very segregated. Through the 80’s/90’s.
