A couple years ago I was planning on going to this show with family. Due to poor planning we ended up missing it, but I’m glad that there’s a video I could watch for the same experience. I always like studying performing mermaids to better understand the art of mermaiding, and am currently practicing to be a mermaid performer in the future

judging by the fish in the tank, the water isn’t chlorinated. the chlorine is what harms your eyes. (depending on where you’re swimming) despite that, they probably can’t see very well as your vision is very blurry underwater.
Former Silverton Mermaid here ✨️ This casino has the MOST ABUSIVE practices in the city. I've worked a lot of shows and casinos and this one wasted 3 years of my life and made me need therapy. No professional mermaid will work here anymore due to their TERRIBLE reputation. And it's not just the workers either. Kid you not that tank works on DOS and the equipment is from several shows ago. I was sexually harassed here, the girls smoke weed in the locker room and use video calling despite other peoples privacy at risk. Literal high schoolers that they are poaching for this. I've had my air shut off as a prank. I've been told warm showers and fresh water are our responsibility to attain. 20 an hour and after 3 years of perfect reviews ended at 21 an hour. Girls just sit on top and talk to safety divers and when I asked if we could get tips they said it was tacky... yet the performers in front of the tank get one 🤔 I brought up the sexual harassment to HR and was fired on the spot. I moved here from out of state for this job and bought a house out here 🤡 Please don't support this casino and ESPECIALLY its mermaid show.

There are several ways to do this. This mermaid like Giraffausarus said is breathing through an air hose (you can see her use it now and then) but you can also spend minutes under water if you take long enough breaths before diving in. There are several tutorials from free divers here on RUclips which teaches you how to properly train your breath-hold skills and to do so at the right pace. The key is mostly though to inhale a big enough amount of air before going under the surface and staying relaxed enough to keep it in. I do not recommend however to do any of this without proper supervision.

Casinos are abusive, so my best advice is joining a network or going solo. Tons of opportunities out there though.

We wear weight belts of about 20-40 pounds. The tails tend to be boient unless they are the old ones... those will try to drown us.
