Thanks for posting this all-time classic. In the past I've always been able to fool some young "bucks" who claimed that they were Beatles fans, but not around when the group was recording together in the 60's. I own the anthology released in '96 and would play this song for people asking him who was jamming. They had absolutely no clue that it was the greatest rock and roll band of all-time. The Beatles, of course! Thanks for sharing with us the full version!
I wasn't there for it, but I know every unreleased Beatles song, even like "Fuck a Duck" and early recordings of Sexy Sadie and "Not Guilty" "That means a lot" "Come and Get it" Goodbye" "A Case of the Blues" and this! I'm only 15 but I own every anthology and Beatles album to exist.
Proof that the beatles blues backbone. All heart and soul straight from the shores of the Mississippi Delta. BB King himself would be proud of this., Absolutely beautiful !
If you ask me, I think this should have been released, at least in the US in 1966. It would have served 2 purposes: 1] Capitol could have used this and probably "I'm Down", instead of the 3 Revolver songs to fill out Y&T (of course Dexter would have renamed the tune something like "Jammin' the Jar"). 2] On their last US tour, JPG&R, could have done a full set with just half-a-dozen songs, closing with an extended version of 12BO.
@jlmusicfan57 Great way of fooling the young bucks...I know I'd definitely fall into that category, because at 29, I'm way too young to have been around when the Beatles were still together :) The main reason I know about their music is because my mom is a fan of John Lennon and listened to all the Beatles records back then ♥♥
Playing triplets doesn't make you a virtuoso guitarist. Blues is supposed to be drawn out and painful, that's why it's the blues. The phrasing on the guitar is great. Ringo's drumming is great, he got the shuffle style down really well.
@sparkyization youre so lucky to have lived through the mania ...i was born in 2000 :( i would give anything to c the Beatles p.s. have you seen them? :)
Hard to be unique with something that has been around since stoneage :P This is better then alot of their early covers (those are horrific) but, worse then any of their own origianals. Resembling The Shadows in the sence that its instrumental with a distinct guitar. Come to think about it it sounds much like early Status Quo without vocals :P
Easy to not recognize as a Beatles tune. It sounds more like The Shadows then it does Beatles :P Without singing, this sounds much like any group. Beatles without lyrics isnt realy much, much of their genious lies within the lyrics and a 12-Bar blues is exactly what it is and has been composed since dawn of man (maybe not, but since the -20s). Anyway, most recognize Beatles because they have listened to most of their tunes since before, not because they recognize vocals or instruments.
The very first record I ever bought in my life was Can't Buy Me Love, so no one can accuse me of not liking the Beatles and I know that dissing them is sacrilege and all that, but actually this is a pretty mediocre jam. Better than Green Onions? You gotta be kidding. Paul and Ringo themselves would slap you for saying that, with John and George spinning in their graves.
***** I'm sorry pal! Did someone force you at gunpoint to listen to the entire 7+ minutes of this Beatles song? You get a thumbs down purely for your dumb comment!
I usually find it very hard to to fault the Beatles but, frankly this is piss- poor. Harrison sounds like he's just picked up the guitar- where is the virtuoso playing of 'leave My Kitten Alone'? No triplet notes or anything. It plods on relentlessly- the only saving grace being McCartney's (as usual) excellent bass playing. Even Starr sounds bored and uninspired. Honestly, rubbish like this feeds the absolute myth that they couldn't play.
Ringo was such a patient timekeeper. Whether it’s this or a 20 min Helter Skelter, he never misses a beat.
Always keep finding "new"songs of the beatles.I love that =)

Wow I been longing to here this song for sometime now!! Thanks alot MrKite!
Long live Beatles music...
If you love the Beatles, this song really rocks ! :D
Absolutely True
It has been said that John would purposely de-tune his guitar so Aunt Mimi could tell which was him.
all their unique beatles instruments sound real good in this
this is just great, classic blues, why didn't the beatles do more songs like this, so ahead of the time
It was actually from the Rubber Soul sessions - and was almost titled "Rubber Soul" to serve as a title track!
A 12 bar blues always makes for a good jam session.
Sounds like the Yardbirds! Thanks, I love it.
Proof that the beatles blues backbone. All heart and soul straight from the shores of the Mississippi Delta. BB King himself would be proud of this., Absolutely beautiful !
Thanks a lot!
They could do anything.... Oh my gosh.
Great song should be released in full.
Truly a classic ..... bring on the funk.
Great!
I quite got the hang of it after about 3-4 minutes... 7 and a half minutes is quite a long time...
PURE AWESOMENESS
People would kill to be able to jam like this.
Never heard this. I thought I knew every single song ... Pretty strange, out there song, actually and I'm liking it
firts time listening this Beatles blues is good
Fantastico ....
Best Band Ever !!
Para ser un gran seguidor de the beatles me sorprendo al escuchar esta cancion por primera vez
I wonder if the amount of Beatles pictures in existence, professional and fan taken, exceed one million, lol...
Ramiro B. That quote I believe was really, ¨I'm an artist, give me a TUBA, I'll bring you something out of it¨

EXCELLENT!!!
John's idea on this song: "It was some lousy 12 bar".
This song would be a career song for me, but it's lousy to John. What a genius
@jlmusicfan57 i was born in 96 man and they are the greatest band ever
why this song never got a proper release is beyond me.... would've been a nice addition to the Help soundtrack
Badass jam here
this good instrumental should have been included in the white album instead of revolution 9
+Diego Aracena No. Definitely not.
Oye, sí te pasaste.....GRACIAS!!!
thats me uncle playing the drums !
In the shot with Yoko at 6:56 looks like they're burning out, discouraged.
Brad Byron Probably from 'The Beatles' (White Album) or the 'Let it Be/Get Back' sessions.
@GBPaddling
This is from 1965, Green Onions is from 1962.
Uffffff!!! Genial!!!!
This reminds me from that one song off the Sandlot movie, I believe it's called "Tequila," but I'm not entirely sure.
Que buen tema.
Those "overdubs" were George Martin on harmonium. John on harmonica

The 2nd picture shown I have that picture but it's hand drawn.
@sparkyization youre so lucky to have lived through the mania ...i was born in 2000 :( i would give anything to c the Beatles p.s. have you seen them? :)
Happy Birthday John!!! (Its tomorrow) =)
Actually in the early years, their genious was in their unique chord structures, which are also absent here.
Hard to be unique with something that has been around since stoneage :P

Resembling The Shadows in the sence that its instrumental with a distinct guitar. Come to think about it it sounds much like early Status Quo without vocals :P
John called this crummy.
That's George Martin on the harmonium, or so we're told by Mark Lewisohn.
Is that Neil Aspinall with them at 3:03?
I thought maybe that was him too.
Needs more cowbell but seriously I loved them in a jam session

No doubt, This theme was inspirated by "Green Onions" of Booker T. & MGs
Probably "How Many More Times" by Led Zeppelin. They sound strikingly similar hmm. But then again, most blues riffs sound very similar.
0:15 Look at John's face. Lol.
Wow, sounds very like a slower more relaxed and less structured version of Booker T and the MJ's Green Onions!
But he was right about something else. The wrong two Beatles died first.
@legolas35653 Your uncle is Ringo?? XD
The Beatles could play the blues as well !!!
John's lighting a fart at 1:40 :)
The very first record I ever bought in my life was Can't Buy Me Love, so no one can accuse me of not liking the Beatles and I know that dissing them is sacrilege and all that, but actually this is a pretty mediocre jam. @LandondeeL :P
Oh shit, the beatles and jesus 4:18
Doing covers and finding inspirations from other songs isn't really plagiarism.
Green Onions...it sounds like that
Sounds a lot like "Green Onions" wonder which came first?
who are these guys
doesn`t this sound like Pink Floyd`s "Money" too?
so somebody overdubbed organ and harmonica ?
George Martin played harmonium
booooored!!!!
***** I'm sorry pal! Did someone force you at gunpoint to listen to the entire 7+ minutes of this Beatles song? You get a thumbs down purely for your dumb comment!
George Carlin said white people have no place recording blues.
This song is why he's wrong.
@GBPaddling Green Onions
I heard they were very drunk........probably passing herbal jazz cig's as well....
is the maharishi not jesus
well you cant blame young ones for being fans of the beatles. at least hey have some taste in music
Probably the worlds worst blues band!
3:03 George looks like a zombie!!!
He looks fine in that picture. You must be talking about the guy in the top right.
How about"superpopperfadgilisticnish"."
