@11:22 You say Satananda measured precession as 1 degree per year. Your slide says 1 arcminute per year, which is probably what you meant to say.
Thanks for this wonderful series, I am truly enjoying every episode!

Oh yes good catch. 1 arc minute per year is correct.

It's always so nice to know about the ancient cultures and the way you presented it was amazing, or added four moons to the topic.(as we say in India)
Anyways, we should never forget the literary loss many of these cultures have suffered. Like the Nalanda University (which is considered to be the first global University by many sources) included many texts written by the most popular Indian astronomers like Aryabhatta and brahmagupta, and and other scholars like Maharishi Charak and Shushruta of biology. People from different cultures like Chinese, came to study there and the books contained the most accurate knowledge present to the civilization at the time.
The university was damaged and repaired many times, but when it was burnt by bakhtiyar Khilji, the loss was not able to be restored. (Some sources say that the huge amount of books in the library kept burning for three months! And according to the some folk sources, the teachers and scholars of the University were locked inside and were burned alive, this was done to avoid any possible restoration of the knowledge maybe)
This caused a huge loss of knowledge for the Indian culture which was not restored for many years to come. Maybe this can be a reason for the shrinking of Indian astronomical knowledge and others. The burning of Nalanda was one of the greatest events in Indian history.
More to more literary manipulations and forceful editions also play a major role but that's a whole another story.
I am not a native English speaker so please forgive me for any grammatical mistakes that you find here.
