@MinimotorsUnitedKingdom is the whole scooter ipx6 waterproof or just the screen?

    • @MinimotorsUnitedKingdom

      Scooter IPX5, Display IPX6 (NEW EY3), DISPLAY IPX7 (EY4)

    • @MinimotorsUnitedKingdom
      @MinimotorsUnitedKingdom  7 месяцев назад

Scooter was not subject to IP rating, it just hàs many improvements equivalent to such IP rating of IPX5. So far only the Thunder 3 has been rated IPX5 on the frame. They are getting conservative with the waterproof claims mainly because it's such a broad term and then secondly it could make riders take more risks than normal. Riding in wet is firstly not recommended due to slippage, not necessarily damage to components.

I wish scooter companies would focus on making scooters lightweight instead of fast.

Scooters are currently crafted using the most lightweight and cost-effective structural materials available, specifically 6065-T6 Aluminum or 7075 Aluminum, to ensure they meet the required standards for durability and safety in electric scooter construction. In 2024, Minimotors introduced new models, namely the Dualtron Popular, Dualtron Togo, and Dualtron Dolphin, with most models weighing under 20 Kg. The lineup includes: Dualtron Popular with a single motor, 52V, Dualtron Popular with dual motors, 52V, Dualtron Togo with a single motor, 48V, Dualtron Togo with a single motor, 36V, Dualtron Dolphin with a single motor, 36V.

@@MinimotorsUnitedKingdom I've had a look at the scooters you've mentioned and most of them are over 22kg and have small wheels. 🥲
I'd like to suggest more 20kg or less scooters with suspension and the use of bigger wheels for safety. I recommend detachable-quick-swap-batteries for increased portability and to possibly to reduce the extra weight that comes with a big fixed battery.
A good bonus feature would be a kick-assisted cruise mode. The duration and speed of the cruise should depend on the force of the kick. Kick-assist would be a welcomed feature in places where scooters are not currently legal.

      @@Why-I-Oughta
Some scooters, like the Dualtron Dolphin, are indeed under 20kg.
      - The models with removable batteries, CITY and STORM, weigh around 40kg.
Dualtron CITY features a 15-inch wheel, while other models have wheels ranging from 13, 11, 10, 9, to 8.5 inches.
      - It's unclear what "small wheel" refers to.
      - Having another model with a removable battery would be ideal for variety and convenience.
      - The kick assist function is a feature of every DUALTRON scooter, though it may not work exactly as you described.

@MinimotorsUnitedKingdom I hope you will consider my kick assist mode suggestion - to clarify, I mean electrical assistance that allows the wheels to continue rolling for longer after kicking, and the duration of electrically assisted rolling is based on the force and frequency of kicks. It could give city scooters a more natural kick-scooter feel.
I hope to see more Dualtron scooters of a similar weight to the Dolphin with detachable batteries in the future.
10-inches tends to be a popular wheel size choice, so I refer to anything below that as small.
To summarise, a dream scooter would have the following:
      • At least 10-inch wheels - interchangeable sizes would be even better
      • A weight of 20kg at the most
      • Full suspension
      • Quick-swap detachable batteries
      • Kick-assist
I hope you will consider this suggestions.
