When I finally got out of high school and went to church for the first time, I felt like it would solve all my issues...it didn’t. BUT than I learned the consistency and just what having faith is. Thank you for sharing. I had a very similar experience related to food and eating. Something I have taken away from it is to not comment on someone else’s weight. Whether they lost or gained there are so many different things that can influence weight. The compliments can be so harmful even if the person may think it is harmless 💛 Plus, there are so many other things we can compliment people apart from their physical appearance

Thank you for being so courageous sharing your story and keeping it honest and real. I think men -- speaking from experience as a male -- struggle to understand women in many ways. Sometimes they're not even trying, and are only focused on the superficial and the outward appearance, and say you look great when they have no idea that on the inside you're really feeling down and lost and hurting. (And there's lots of reinforcement for this behavior in our media and our culture.) But even when they are trying -- my experience -- they can love you more than anything in the world, commit themselves to you, marry you, bring a child into this world with you, and, though aware of your struggles with body image and your anxieties, rationalize or come to believe or think that over time just being there for you, committed and loving you, will make it go away and those issues will resolve themselves. (Believing in their own strength is easier than recognizing they need to expand their problem-solving skills. And listen.) And, often, the struggles don't go away and the relationship frays. You're doing a lot of the right things, using problem-solving skills women are generally better at -- communicating more, telling their stories to others, talking through the problem with a counselor or a mentor. (Men often don't do these things for fear of appearing weak, due to cultural gender roles.) Your brain is going through a lot of changes right now -- the only other time you go through such major changes in your brain, besides pregnancy, is in puberty. They're not negative changes (as some men may think....) but adaptive changes to prepare you to be a mother, as you'll be solving different adaptive and cognitive problems. We've seen a lot of neuro-imaging research only in the last decade -- it's something to be aware of and discuss with your doctor and others as your body changes and in case you go through any struggles postpartum. I think just posting your testimony like this is you being honest and telling your story and being open to support and help -- you're wiser than a lot of folks twice your age, from what I've seen on this planet. I learned in a beginning ballet class that putting one's head in a certain position -- to the side, exposing the neck -- feels unnatural. It goes against our biological will to survive and makes us vulnerable. But we do so, in the arts, to share our vulnerabilities -- our humanity. And, by trusting others, and expressing how we really feel -- in the end, it makes us all stronger. You're kind of building a much bigger family, in a good way....🙂 (and sorry if I ramble too much....you're just inspiring and put out a lot that's worth responding to....)

I relate to you so much. I grew up with an alcoholic parent and dealt with some depression once I was on my own in college. This month has been so hard for me. I haven’t openly to anyone how I felt which is the same as you have before. I literally hated myself and felt an ugly sadness. I feel like in the world of RUclips and Instagram it's easy to give off the appearance that your life is perfect and there are no struggles. I think it is so important to be able to share these things! For the sake of yourself and for the sake of your followers. My family has been struggling recently and I've found myself want to get closer to God, as if he is calling me and telling me to show my family the way. What are the odds that I would click on your video 🤔. What you went through ( feeling sad, not wanting to be here anymore, etc) is exactly where I am now ( and have been for a while ). I've come up with the theory that we all have our "stories" to live ( whether we like them or not ). Unfortunately I want another story. Basically I just want to live " Happily ever after " like in the story books, but I don't see that ever happening ( too much time has gone by ) and like I said I don't think it's meant to be my " story "????

Thank you for sharing your testimony. It is very true that when you become a Christian you WILL face trials. When you accept Jesus as your Saviour, Satan has his guns fired towards you and will do all he can to make you doubt or drive you from God. But thankfully God takes care of His children and he doesn’t lose one. Trials are very important to go through and the Bible says they are more precious than rubies. They are what draw us closer to God, make us dig deeper, they strengthen our faith, and through them we see the devils tricks and how subtle his lies are. And we learn how to fight those lies. Through hard times we realize that God is our everything. Everyday is a battle, but just look to God and His Word. Cling to his promises. Use the Word to fight Satan, that’s what Jesus did and it defeated satan every time. Satan will battle you in the mind, but God speaks to your heart. And remember It’s not about what you feel it’s about BELIEVING. Faith goes beyond senses. I wish you wouldn’t worry about babbling, or what to say. I can relate to that too, but we worry TOO much. Speak from your heart. Just commit it to God and trust him to help give you the words to speak, whatever it is. Love you sister. God bless you. I will pray for you and your family.
