You can find tables in a dark finish but two things work great to lighten it. One, is oven cleaner, spray outside and water hose off. Two, is regular bleach, works great.

I have been watching Emily for a couple years now. She sent me! I think you white flowers might be pussy willows. At first I thought they were cotton balls which are very popular here in the south. I think your drop leaf table was a very good buy. Might be worth a bit more depending on the wood and age of the piece. I sold a fairly old one for $150 that wasn’t as nice as yours. But yours would be more valuable with the leaves intact. I would look for a makers stamp or label under the top before redoing. My uncle collected really old pickling crocks and jugs made of crock material. The old ones are hard to find now. I only have one similar to his collection, but I have two blue bread bowls made of crock material. They belonged to my late husband’s grandmother. I am old. My daughter is close to your age. I have had these two bowls and her hand carved rolling pin since my 20s and she probably had them for 50+ years before they were passed on to me! So, they are close to 100 yrs old! I was a ceramics student in college and had really strong hands and arms from working with clay and I made a lot of homemade bread with those bowls and biscuits with that rolling pin! So nice to see some things coming back in style to use in decorating. I have two vintage wedding ring quilts like the second one you showed. One was made by my mother and the other by my grandmother. I know that each took them probably a year to make, working an hour or two on them by hand each day. So well over 500 hours in one quilt. Those were quite nice gifts! And finally, in my decorating days, coffee table books had to be about a subject you were interested in and visitors often discussed the book when they sat and had coffee or cocktails with you. Most of mine were art books since I was an art major. I have had to donate hundreds to libraries because they were just too much to move. We are moving again soon and I still have too many coffee table books! Lol! Thanks for your video! I really enjoyed it!
