My darling, I am a senior citizen, a Grandmother, a not so much pillar but for sure a speed bump in my community. This is MY song, I was the hot chick at the bar, the rock & roll goddess, the bad ass street fighter that could kick ass and take names, the girl the other girls hated! I laugh my ass off every time I hear this song, it is FACT! I had already fallen off the proverbial cliff of age when this came out and it really made me feel better about getting old!
I was 19 years old. I just arrived to work on Jaws at Universal Orlando. I was handed a button down from wardrobe and told to help evacuate the guests and make sure we get everyone out safely. We had a patrol of f-16s flying by and I was told to not let the guests know what happened or that the governor called directly and said us and Disney are potential targets. I went to go home after I did what I was told, and the highway to my house was closed, and I had to stay with a coworkers mom because I couldn't get home. I tried to abbreviate this as much as possible, but I have so many hard memories from that day. It's also the reason I joined the army.
He passed away so sad this man was my teenage and young adult music jam for years gonna miss this one

Toby was a great guy i meet him a few time in my time overseas we flew him around to small little outpost in Afghanistan. just him and his guitar and he would sit and play songs and just hang out with troops and once in Germany he came to play a concert for the troops there and the night before he went to the post bar and paid the tab for everyone that night. a true American he will be missed.

Toby converted me too. My best friend loved him and literally dragged me to his concert in 2010. Had a BLAST at that show and will never forget it.

John Denver's father was die hard military so the family moved a lot! I think his music is amazing. It was my era! I believe (?) this song, in part might have been about his fried who borrowed John's motorcycle to explore the mountains and had an accident and was killed.

I met Mr. Keith once on the sideline of a football game of his highschool Alma mater. If he was an extremely cool guy we chatted for a while and he was just very humble especially when he found out I was a veteran.

Toby is a true patriot. I’ve seen him twice when I was working as an explosives dog handler. He is hilarious in person, and has some “special” songs just for service members. Keep him in your thoughts as he fights his cancer battle. We don’t want to lose him. He’s one of the good guys.

Hard to believe he's gone! He was such a big, tough, strappin' guy. When I first heard he had cancer, there was no doubt in my mind that he would beat it. I just couldn't imagine anything defeating that man. But, sadly, it did. Thanks for all the great music, tours in Iraq and your decency!
