Yellow Diamonds are so pretty! Love the ring!
Oh!! Yellow diamond always looks so attractive and eye catching.. i always wanted to have one.. it looks super special😊😍
Yeah, clearly, you haven't watched Steven universe cuz you didn't comment about it
The D colorless diamond looks a bit yellowish because of the yellow lighting used to enhance the color of the fancy intense yellow diamond making it look like fancy vivid yellow.

Good yelow diamond
We were at a jewelry store yesterday and I saw fancy yellows. The fancy vivid is AMAZING but EXPENSIVE. I mean like half a carat can be 8,000.00 to 15,000.00. Depending on the carat wt. I love fancy vivid orange. Now THAT is color saturation along with scintillation and fire. (prism effect) If I were in the market for a colored diamond it would HAVE to be GIA certified. My engagement ring is D color, .92 points, good cut, sI1 clarity and it's GIA certified. Had it almost 20 yrs now. Yesterday, my husband was going to buy me a trinket but we did not have alot to spend so I just got a ring that has a center stone that's DOWN in color, not fancy at all but has the halo. REALLY cute style so it was only a grand so I got that. the ring is only 10K. I wanted a cute little ring I could wear that I don't have to worry about scratching an emerald or getting kitchen gunk in really good pieces. Anyway, my point is, that I'd love to have a fancy but they are VERY expensive so can't do it. They are amazing though. I can understand why they're so high in price. Maybe if I hit the lottery. LOL!
Are diamonds a good investment like gold or platinum
Honestly id say no, we keep finding deposits of jems, and getting better at making fake diamonds/gems that are so damn realistic, its so much riskier than say buying 1 oz walking liberty's.....its been a year since you posted but I hope you see this.....my personal advice investment wise? MORGAN SILVER DOLLARS, guarentee its rhe sadest and most efficient to
How is the price difference between a colorless diamond vs. fancy yellow diamond, given the same cut, size (carat weight), and maybe clarity ? Thanks
Giao Chi Nguyen yellow diamonds are rarer than colorless diamonds making it more valuable, color can increase the value of a diamond
I'm very impressed
Good diamond 👍👍

It's yellow clod
James,
I have a question.
A wholesale dealer wants to sell me a GIA 2.7 ct color: w-z VS1. It’s not cheap at $13,500 US in a thin pave diamond band (diamonds in the side of the band and around the diamond) with a gold cup to enhance the yellow.
Is this stone worth buying?
Since there is no Rapaport, while pretty, it’s also disconcerting.
From your description, I assume the diamond doesn't have a GIA report? On that basis, you don't know if the diamond has undergone any treatments, or if it has any chips or faults which are hidden by the setting. You also wouldn't know the exact colour and clarity rating which at this carat weight can make a big difference to the price.
I would advise for the budget you are considering only buying a diamond which has the correct GIA paperwork. A diamond wholesaler will be very used to dealers they sell to insisting on only buying stones which are correctly graded. So if the professionals insist upon it, it probably makes sense for you to adopt the same approach.
Hope that helps! Good luck with finding the perfect diamond!
Samara James
James,
No no, the diamond IS GIA certified.
It says it’s a W-Z in color and a VS1.
But since the Rapaport doesn’t list these diamonds, it’s very hard for the consumer to determine value.
Ah, I understand what you mean. What is the GIA cert number?
Samara James
I don’t know at the moment.
But here are the particulars:
2.73 ct
W-Z in color
VS1
Pol:VG
Flr:F
Sym:G
Cut: Radiant
8.04x7.30x4.89
Depth: 67.00
Table: 65.00
It’s in a white gold setting with a gold cup (to enhance the yellow) with pave diamonds on the band and around the diamond.
It’s $17600 in total with $13,500 cash and my very nice 3/4 ct F color princess cut VVS2 diamond trade in.
Thank you.
Ah... I think I know that stone. GIA no 2175865344. We can definitely beat the deal you are being offered. If you would like to discuss in more detail please could you send an enquiry to ed@samarajames.com to discuss further?
