Biker chick here! Just bought this bike. Got a Matte black one with the Vance&Hines black pipes, and came with a beautiful black diamond stitch seat. I love this bike! It would’ve cost me about $17,000 out the door at the shop, but I got it very lightly used for $11,000 so pretty right on the spot there. I’m 5’1 And this bike fits me like a glove! First bike I’ve had where my feet are flat on the ground instead of up on my tippy toes. I started out on a 300 and then moved to a 900 before I got this bike and even though it’s a 1200 it is way easier for me to maneuver.
Awesome! Guessing USA from the currency? How often do you see them about? I've assumed they would be quite unique over there? Cracking bike. I've actually been thinking about the bobber a bit recently as feel I need to take it out again
Great review! Maybe the best out there on this bike for really capturing the emotional feel of the bike rather than just the technical specifications. This helped me pull the trigger on buying my own!
Great video on this bike. I picked up my new Bobber (gold line edition 2022) lunch time today and I was seriously smiling under my helmet… absolute beautiful machine.
I own the 18’ Speedmaster and am completely in love with her even after 3 years - it was thus bike that brought me to the Triumph dealer in the first place, I wanted the pillion spot - otherwise this would have be sitting in my garage! So well made and super fun to ride
Tried 3 Harley bikes and 2 of the Indians and then I tried this bike. I went with the Triumph. Several reasons. Starting with chain drive over belts and just more fun to ride in every way.
Sorry, you made my day at minute 9:00. I laughed so hard. Understand you. Faster than the race control allows. Then just blind the speedometer. I like you.
Haha! "Cool Uncle Tom" on the road again! A really cool bike! And it is remarkable if you think of how many different gorgeous, high quality "modern retro" bikes Triumph brought on the market the recent years: bobber, street twin, speed twin, thruxton r, T100, T120, speedmaster, scrambler, street cup, etc. I believe this is not comparable with any other manufacturer… as a Kawa owner I have to say: well done Triumph!
Yeah I think Triumph have nailed it with their classic range. I've been fortunate to ride a number of them and I've not come across one I don't really like. I've not tried the speedmaster yet but hoping to give that a go soon...
Great review & visuals. I’ve been wanting this bike for around 2 years now. I’m going this week to look at in person, ride, and negotiate price. If all is well I will get next week 😁
I own a 2018 Speedmaster which I absolutely love - it has a passenger seat .. but this is still a bike I would own! It is so brawny and a true piece of art! Great video!👍🏻
I couldn’t say enough good things about it - I did replace the stock seat with a comfort seat - but the power, the exhaust sounds - it’s a great machine!
Oh man I must get to England to ride those country roads. A two week motorcycle tour of England, Wales (Welsh ancestry) and Scotland is DEFINITELY on my list !
Haha these roads are all over the place. I'd say plan 3 weeks to get Scotland ticked off too. Would be a great trip. You might enjoy my little Dartmoor camping adventure vid which is on my page. Nicer roads than my test route I think. In the south west of england
Loved the look when it first came out. Sat on one at one of the bike shows, and found I was just too big for it at 6'5" tall. Really disappointed as still think it looks good. Lovin' your work, from a fellow Maidstoneian.
Too much money for what is a compromised bike for a lot of people, but I guess that's missing the point. It's a bike for Sunday best. No doubt it's a quality product and that's where I'd see the money going more than anything else about it - the paint, the alloy castings, the attention to details. Owning a "true" bobbered bike I totally understand the riding engagement side of things, but on the other hand no way could it be used as a sole bike. I occasionally commute on mine but that largely sucks, this seems like it would be similar. Right road and weather great, otherwise a bit of a chore. Some interesting bikes you've reviewed and good to see bikes used on some my local roads I'm familiar. Keep the vids coming!
Thanks! Yeah I'm in and out of london most days and the bobber would definitely not be suited to that 😂 would love one as a second bike though. Thanks for dropping a comment, always nice to hear a local has found my vids :)
Okay you convinced me to go buy one! My Wife tells me this is the only review she has heard me listening to that included an orgasm🤣 Fantastic, love the review - thank you. Have been looking at dozens of these on RUclips & you my friend just convinced me. Ride Safe! Stay Kooel😎 & thanks again. Cape Town South Africa
Unless you’re too big for the bobber, you are gonna love it. For a cruiser, it’s relatively light, nimble, sporty, fast ( torque ), and easy to ride. It’s comfortable, sounds great and looks like something from the 1950’s! I use it strictly for recreational day trips. Ride safe 🏍😎
Haha, that's a trade plate just for the test ride of the bike. The plate holder is pretty small which would look fine with a proper plate. Well probably slightly smaller than normal plates
Split between one of the these and a R Nine T sport god just too many nice bikes . Better sound on the Bobber , always a little disappointed with the Akrapovics on the Beamers .. Test rode the BMW and it was sublime and so beautifully finished .😁🇬🇧🏍

The 12 liter tank from Speedmaster can replace the tank and the newer 2021 plus models have a larger 12 liter tank, so now you’re gonna have to buy one, right? Four months ago I bought a used 2017 with 2800 miles on it for $9,000 US dollars and am loving every Marlon Brando minute!
The Bobber black is so much better than the standard. The brakes on the standard aren't quite powerful enough considering it has a 1200 lump powering it! The back roads around Rye I found it to be bit of bucking bronco! As for dream garage, the Thruxton R is more versatile (did I just say that?!)😂
Haha, I do love the thruxton r though if either were in the garage they wouldn't be there for versatility 😂 Only been down to Rye once, went 2up with the other half a couple of weeks back, lovely ride down
Haha there is that! Rye is one of my Sunday morning haunts, get some great bikes and Hastings isn't too far. Sussex is a bikers dream, some great roads, definitely check that out for future rides (I know Kent like the back of my hand).
... great review... the twisties on your ride felt a little isle of man’ish... going to be getting the black version... thanks for the reply... take care...
I'm the same height as you 6ft , how did you feel or look on it, catch a glimpse in a shop window, had many say they felt too big and they're under 6ft
I felt cool as f***! I found myself man spreading in the seat a little but didnt feel too big for it. I've got a mate who's about 6ft 3 I think that has one. I've sat on an indian scout bobber that felt slightly bigger however havent ridden on yet, though after a test ride on this I think you may well be sold. I would be buying one in a heartbeat if I had space for it
@@TommyBarnezTV sat on the Bobber Black today and felt great, seat and leg position was comfortable, felt less comfy of the Harley Davidson Fat boy which is bigger, will hold fire until the new year now but I like it, even the stock pipes had a good growl which is surprising.
Its possible, but you're probably going to feel a bit big for it. I know someone who is about that height that has one, he still loves it but he then has a GS for bigger trips
@@TommyBarnezTV Big bang in to 1st, a clunk in to 2nd, another clunk in to 3rd then 4th, 5th & 6th are silky smooth. I thought it was just mine at first but sadly everyone I've ridden does the same
Paul Harrison I’ve honestly not experienced that at all... mine is silky smooth... especially compared to other bikes that I’ve ridden and owned. I’d get yours looked at as I think there might be something wrong with it 😉
@@CommonsFilms I don't know so. I've ridden three other 17 model year Bobbers and sadly they've all done the same as mine. As an aside. The gearbox on my 1200 Scrambler is silky smooth compared to the Bobber and even my 2002 5 speed T100 is better ! I love my Triumphs 😉
Love the look and I will get one...but that seat looks uncomfortable! Doesn't look like much padding at all. I have a Sportster now and its stock seat makes my ass numb after a bit. I know I can always change the seat on my Sportster and the Bobber...its just expensive tho. Well over $200 USD and I'm sure Triumph seats are as well
You may be surprised. I am only 5’6” and 155 lbs and find the seat/suspension amazingly comfortable. I understand what you’re saying if you’re a larger person. I still raise my butt up going over bumps and potholes, and it does have a decent layer of gel, but the way the back is tilted up, keeps me in the seat upon acceleration. I also like to scooch closer to the tank at times, and a pair of padded shorts never hurts! I’m actually wanting a dark brown seat with diamond pattern, but afraid the new seat will have a different shape, so I may just go with a seat cover instead. Like I said, you may be surprised. I know I was!
If it is I personally wouldnt advise it. Takes away the magic of a bobber. If a pillion seat is a must have then I would lean more to something like the speed twin
Have a ride of one, pretty special bike I think. The only complaint I come across is the comfort of the seat after an hour. Wasnt too bad for me but see if you can get a test ride for 2 hours to be sure
9 litres tank? Don't you mean 19 litres, surely? First thing I'd change: the 9 litre tank. 19 litre minimum (about 5 gallons) 2nd thing: the suspension. Front suspension 5-6 inches travel because, just because. The rear suspension, something maybe with an inch more than 3.5" travel. My back has 2 vertebrae that don't sit flat on top of the others (injury as a teen). I feel every jar of my heel, every dip in the road/turf/lawn and each time its like doing a back injury again. I like suspension Float, Preload, Rebound dampening, and Compression all sorted (dunno why). 3rd thing: wheel diameter. 18 inch front and back for an extra 1 inch of ground clearance to the axles. 4th thang: EFI 5th thing: handle bars, something flatter. Also LED lighting Thats just the things I'd change upon muh ownership.
user_mac01 the 9 litre tank is good for 140 miles based on 65 mpg and perfectly sufficient for a bike that isn’t designed for touring due to relative comfort issues much beyond 1-1.5 hours without a little rest. In any case, a 19 litre tank would utterly ruin the look of the bike. Concerning the suspension and your need to change in due to your condition... I’d suggest that it would just be easier to buy a bike more suitable to your situation. These bikes handle fantastically, in fact quite unlike anything else of its type, so making changes as you suggest would ruin a key attribute. Finally... it already has LED lighting all round straight out of the box 😉
Hysterical how he says the exhaust sounds like a fighter jet. I rode one and it sounds exactly like a sewing machine. I guess here in the states our definition of a good sounding bike is a little different from Europe.
So, what's in your imaginary 3 bike garage? You've got an Adventure bike, already. You could easily have the Thruxton AND the Bobber if you wanted 3 different styles of bikes. Why do you need to make a choice of Thruxton OR the Bobber? I'd be interested to know what other you had in mind to make uo the 3. Also, if you were going to do it properly, you'd need 3 types of motorcycle gear to wear if you, really, wanted to look the part on each of the bikes.
Haha ofcourse to the gear! So currently the garage is tiger 800xrt to replace the vstrom as does everything the v Strom does but better and would be fine for longer tours. Bobber would be the weekend pretty bike. The thruxton r for me would fill the same demand of a bike. I just found the bobber has extra to add to the mix. Both are excellent. Third bike keeps changing. It was the CB1000R for a bit however I'm drawn to a track day option now. The CB1000R is just a little too quick for me to take on the track I think and would prefer something like a CBR650R to hone track skills on. One day I'll hopefully have the space and the funds to have to make the decisions for real 😂
If your going to "push" to the front of the traffic, I think you owe it to the cars either side to pull away quick smart, not take your time, its off-putting for the drivers. (I guessed something was up when the red Honda estate pulled away from you on the first roundabout).
9 liter tank? You keep at least 4 liter reserve. This means that you have only 5 liter consuption between 2 stops? Oh dear, i am so happy with my 20 liter tank on my VN900. 3 pump visits against one ... what a handicap. The ride by wire system ... one moment technology go's to far, and that point is reached. What is wrong with a cable system? Real nice bike, but to much electronics. One more step, and they are on the BMW level ... not longer reliable and real expensive repairs.
I've not had a go on the Vulcan yet. Keen to at some point. Yeah the fuel tank is a bit small but the engine is wonderful. I'd be happy with it, but I wouldnt be doing high mileage on it, would be a bit of a special bike for me.
@@TommyBarnezTV, for me, that small tank on a 1200cc is a killer. I would never feel comfortable when start for a trip. The need for fuel is always there. You don't plan a trip from A to B, but from A to a pump, to another pump, and B. Same like you go on a trip with a fiew HD's and there is a sportster in the group. He is already running out of fuel with a "full" tank before we start.
Nice bike but most definitely should change the name Bc The Bobbers are a custom style not factory even tho they nailed the look !! Lol I just hate that I like it so much and it’s not a Harley Davidson lol but Triumph aNd Harley are my favorite motorcycle manufacturers
Nicolas Rebollar the Harley’s are a completely different offering. I’ve test ridden a number of them and considered heading down the HD route based on the cool factor as much as anything else. But the Bobber handles in a way that no HD can/has to date and they are bloody slow by comparison. They do however sound good, but that wasn’t enough to command my money 👍
If only you could have been present when Triumph were at the design stage... you could have spoken up and saved them from making the fastest ever selling bike in Triumph’s 116 year history 🤔😂😉

@@scottashdown3686me too.. i have neuropathic in my leks and dis was the only bike i coud sit on wel
first! lol. Great video I like the way the bobber looks old retro yet newish style design!!
haha thanks!
is it possible to mount pasanger seat on it?
If it is I personally wouldnt advise it. Takes away the magic of a bobber. If a pillion seat is a must have then I would lean more to something like the speed twin
Pawel Bu look instead at the new Speedmaster (2018)... practically the same bike but with a pillion seat 👍
On the fence about buying one of these. Great video though
19 litre minimum (about 5 gallons)
2nd thing: the suspension.
4th thang: EFI
5th thing: handle bars, something flatter. Also LED lighting
Thats just the things I'd change upon muh ownership.
user_mac01 the 9 litre tank is good for 140 miles based on 65 mpg and perfectly sufficient for a bike that isn’t designed for touring due to relative comfort issues much beyond 1-1.5 hours without a little rest.
Finally... it already has LED lighting all round straight out of the box 😉
im 6’3 what bike is perfect for someone my length?
Impossible to say, you'll have to sit on a load and see how you feel
Hysterical how he says the exhaust sounds like a fighter jet. I rode one and it sounds exactly like a sewing machine. I guess here in the states our definition of a good sounding bike is a little different from Europe.
America! F**K Yeah! 👊
@@TommyBarnezTV I have to respectfully disagree with Shoelace. Proud American here, but I agree with you Tommy that this has an amazing sound.
@@TommyBarnezTV Yeah, saw your review of the CBR650R. It did look great and go well. One day maybe. Keep it up you're doing really good reviews.
@@Jaffa1951 cheers mate, really appreciate it 😎
Now we’re talking
Nice eh!
Is it hard to ride?
Not at all

9L fuel Tank ? Really ? Come on...
Elderin Moi 140 miles per tank... plenty enough 👍
Left leg sticking out, is that the side you place your Johnson 😄
😂
If your going to "push" to the front of the traffic, I think you owe it to the cars either side to pull away quick smart, not take your time, its off-putting for the drivers. (I guessed something was up when the red Honda estate pulled away from you on the first roundabout).
Nobody:
Tommy: I'm 6 foot
Sorry I'm old, I really don't understand those posts with nobody: then something said by someone 😂
Tropical VN Rider 140 miles from a full tank is plenty for a bike of its kind. If you require more you’ve bought the wrong bike 👍
Nice bike but most definitely should change the name Bc The Bobbers are a custom style not factory even tho they nailed the look !! Lol I just hate that I like it so much and it’s not a Harley Davidson lol but Triumph aNd Harley are my favorite motorcycle manufacturers
sounds weedy
It sounds awesome !
Beautiful looking bike but the sound of the exhaust really doesn't sound to good, especially compared to a Harley Davidson
Ah I love the exhaust on this! Will be testing harleys in the coming months though...
@@TommyBarnezTV Sweet! I'm pretty sure the bike sounds a lot better in person, but I myself love the sound of the rumble of a Harley
Sorry the bike Doe's not look right
If only you could have been present when Triumph were at the design stage... you could have spoken up and saved them from making the fastest ever selling bike in Triumph’s 116 year history 🤔😂😉
