Your demeanor in these videos makes watching these so, so pleasant. No stupid catch phrases or silly themed things we have to endure, just good findings and some history. Add to that the perfectly wonderful music and these are a real pleasure to watch.
I agree, love this channel for the same reasons, and brads genuine interest and wonder in whatever he finds.... what is it with most detectorists and daft catch phrases literally after every single find.
Agreed. And don’t forget the scenery. Too many 20 minute or so vids have pockets of time that drag on plus intros that are downright painful. But here at Green Mountain the content is engaging and Brad’s demeanor compliments his surroundings perfectly. It doesn’t hurt that he’s a cutie patutie as well. Thank you Brad for being you and sharing what you do.
I don't think metal detecting can be more entertaining. From the well crafted videos to the history lessons along the way and being a fellow Vermonter. Well done
Metal detecting brings a joy even when you find a old rusty nail that has no value except to the finder. If you've never done it, I encourage you to try. If you purchase a metal detector start out small and work up If you find it to be fun.
I must have misheard you a few weeks ago because I thought you said you weren’t going to post videos because you were going to go to your winter schedule. I was excited to see this video posted this morning that I watched while drinking my coffee on the deck. I guess it shows how old I am by the excitement I felt about seeing it. Don’t underestimate the joy you bring to people every Friday.
WOW!!! Brad this was absolutely an amzing trip!! SO cool thank you for sharing! Can not wait for the next video! Your my medicine in this crazy world and i thank you for that!
Ahhh, my "Friday Fix"! When I first started metal detecting I would watch every video on the subject posted on RUclips by every content creator out there. Now, yours is the only one I watch. You provide an excellent show in all aspects and I find myself waiting for your next video with great anticipation! TGIF means Brad's coming. Keep up the great work. You deserve the accolades.
Nice Dig Day! I know I'm a Senior Citizen, because I right away knew what the maple taps and nose ring were. You stumped me with the horse tack, though! Gun Granni NY
Love my morning cup of coffee while watching you digging. how can it be relaxing yet exciting at the same time?! .25 cents in 1902 was worth over $8 in our time. someone lost a big chunk of their earnings. great find!
Don't know about other comments, but here's mine. The ornate piece you found reminds me of a latch for a jewelry box or a music box, something like that. The two posts on the one piece is what triggered that thought.
My guess too for the fancy intricate thing is a brooch. What a lucky-find day today. 2 silvers, Indians, fancy thing, and to top it off... Vermont sap sappers. Great location idea. Thanks for the fun video today. Hope the treasure hunt planning is going smoothly. Looking forward to that too.
As soon as I saw that first tree tap I recognized it! I have one just like it that I found in a local antique shop. I hope to find a few more and make a coat rack. They are really interesting pieces.
First time here and when you found those tree taps you said you're in vermont!Vermont!! Vermont is on my bucket list to visit in the fall!! I will definitely be following you!!! Thank you for your calm demeanor and low key music. Focus is on you and your content. Thank you!
Awesome video Brad. I really like the relics found especially the (2) sugar maple taps, the horse tack, the IHP and the barber dime and the barber quarter.
Good hunt, Mr. Brad, especially the 2 taps and the 2 silvers. I learned last year that I can make syrup from Elm tree sap which I did not know so I think I will experiment with that in the Spring.
Awesome video with some great finds! I knew that was a spigot for maple sugar, soon as you showed it. My Grandfather would make syrup…man I miss that, and him. Thank you and hope you have an awesome weekend 👍🏻
Brad I enjoy watching your videos, been watching them for a long time now. Thanks for bringing me along. The filagree piece looks to me a fancy broken broche being there was two tangs across from each other for a pin maybe? 🤔
At first, I couldnt stand you. My initial thought was, "Whats this guy selling?" Your optimistic attitude seemed manufactured. But, then, I began to get a sense of your personality and things changed. Now, I understand your genuine appreciation for the history, mystery, and wonder of our mutual interest. Dig it! Cant quit watching.
You brought me right back to my childhood in upstate NY! I knew exactly what those taps were the moment I saw them - and it has been easily 45+ years since I’ve seen them used. Thank you for the warm, sugary memories!
Having grown up in NE Ohio, my mother's house had very old Sugar Maple trees. The man down the road whom I bought hay from. not only had Sugar Maples: he had a sugar shack. I am in NE FL now but I am going back to NE OH in late February or Early March next year. When I metal detected on my mom's place...horse shoes. So long ago.I love your channel and will watch more often.
Good hunt! I love those surprise finds at the last minute! My only Barber quarter was found in a deep coin spill in farm yard. I had dug an Indian Head the week before and just happened to recheck the hole and had a high tone. I dug three more coins in that hole. Good hunt!
That was a good hunt. Waiting on to use my minelab vanquish 540. I wait till everything dies down with the freezing weather then I go detecting. Enjoy watching your videos you explain a lot about what u r finding. Can't wait till next Friday to watch another.
I enjoy all of your videos. So well done. Good music with clean nicely spoken narrative. Love seeing things from the past . Especially from the Northeast. I am a Florida native. Thank you so much for sharing. 🙌💯
That piece of horse equipment is for a bearing rein (sometimes called a check rein). Its a device to make the horse keep its head up while pulling a carriage or cart. It was generally attached to the harness bridle somewhere in the area where the browband meets the throat latch. Most people now days consider it a cruel device because it forces the horse to hold its head up in an unnatural position. But back about the time that farm would have been there it was considered fashionable for a horse to wear it.
Always enjoyed your video on Friday morning as I am drinking my coffee as always your findings make me wonder to about how these things were lost and the people who lost them again thanks for the journey into the past. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future.
It was super cool when you turned the camera around and we could see what you were finding and digging. Part of the reason I like to watch. Adds to the surprise! :) Cool finds! The Taps were super cool!
The barber quarter reminded of my grandfather dropping me off at the movies in the 50's. He would give me a quarter and that would buy the ticket, soda and a bag of popcorn. It's a pleasure to spend a day with you.

Yep, no over acting or hype
So true! He's now my favorite detectorist, because of his down to earth ways. 🪙
I know right? I l❤ve this man.
I don't think metal detecting can be more entertaining. From the well crafted videos to the history lessons along the way and being a fellow Vermonter. Well done
Good morning Brad,. Salute to all veterans!

Autumn must be spectacular in Vermont. Just from the glimpse of those trees with the red leaves I can only imagine the beauty of your surrounded by.
