I like what you have in your pouch. AND I like your pouch! :) I was thinking about adding an emergency blanket and a larger bandana, as well as a knife and multitool for urban survival. And some charcoal tablets and painkillers. Never know...
Great kit. I like the redundant fire methods. In my belt pouches I keep a couple of pieces of rock candy or a slice of beef jerky. Not as much for food, but as a moral booster if I get stuck, or I’m out too long. A small chemlight is good too, if it gets dark too soon.
Good stuff, Joe! I have come to the realization that nail clippers, tweezers, and a small safety bottle of eye saline and compressed dry towelettes are some of my most used pieces of kit due to the reckless abandon that my boys approach everything with. 🤙🏻
Hello from the Great State of Alaska! Nice little kit. Very similar to something I've carried for years. I just happen to call mine a possibles pouch. Just an FYI: I have added a small, quality button compass, a small makeup mirror and a Leatherman Micra. You could probably substitute for a Victorinox Classic SD or similar little knife. Having that little wonder with a small blade and scissors has made life a lot easier numerous times.. The compass I use for cardinal directions, (not overland orienteering), and the mirror makes a great signal device, checking your face or backside for injuries, etc. I like the little patch of leather wrapped around your ferro rod. I will definitely be incorporating that little gem into my kit as well.
I really like your approach here. My own belt pouch is tailored to the things I do in the woods, so in addition to the more usual bushcraft items it also includes a small but high quality monocular, a jewellers loupe, and a 10cm metal ruler. Also, my cut kit includes a tick twister, and on a similar theme I carry a midge net and a credit card sized Smidge spray - because I live in Scotland and I am delicious 😂
I really appreciate your channel and am looking forward to appreciating the Banshee 2.0 I commissioned from Steve at Field & Steel when it arrives. I would love to see more kit videos. Not your standard junk on the bunk content, though I do enjoy that kind of format, but something more like you taking us along on an adventure and showing how your kit is used along the way. And especially a detailed walkthrough on how you make camp. Real meat and potatoes videos on what you carry, why you carry it, and how you use it.
Plasters? Trousers? What language are you speaking? 😂 A very smart bag for sure. Full of logical and handy items. The bag is very stylish and just the right size! Thanks for sharing Joe! #keepitburning
The pouch is a beautiful piece, your friend is very skilled! Your loadout is dope too. Seriousness aside, why isn’t there a PlayStation 5 in the pouch?
@@inforestsandlands Amen brother!! The only thing bushcraft related that gets me more excited than fancy jackets is knives. Your channel is high quality and your camera presence is top shelf. I’m glad I found your channel before it gets super famous :)
Nice neat set up fella, I've just had a delivery of some of the breast milk bags much to the entertainment of the ladies in the office. As I'm finding myself crafting more, a heavy duty needle comes in really handy 👍
I've been looking for a nice leather pouch to store my firemaking tools in and I think yours looks fantastic but I was surprised to see you hadn't included a link to the store you bought it from. I searched for Nikolai Leatherworks but I couldn't find something. Can you possibly link me to it? Thanks.
@DrPurple hey 👋. That's a good shout. At the time of filming I was unsure where my friend wanted to direct his sales. But this gave me the kick to check. Below is the link and I will add it to the vid description. Thank you for reaching out. instagram.com/nicoslaederworks?igsh=cjV2dzNpeWM4cXho
I don't see enough people carrying wet wipes, to be honest. Even just to wipe your hands or clean the sweat off your face, it's hard to understate how much more civilized they make you feel if you're in an inclement situation.
@bluesquidny carry belt pouches? Possibly, my friend. They are pioneered by the American wooodcrafters, tho. Like dave Canterbury, etc. Repurposed shot and powder pouches. But defo, something not used so commonly by the modern woodsman

Good collection of gear Joe. Breast milk bags? I've never seen a plastic one before. Very cool.

Now I need a fancy blanket for my ferro rod. Always a great informing vid.

Great stuff man. Simple and easy. Maybe throw in some heavy duty tinfoil for boiling water. Lays flat and light weight in the pouch.

Genius with the midge stuff ! 👏 I am gonna try that this mosquitoe season.
Thanks for sharing and a nice in depth look of your pouch.

Very nice kit

Hahaha thank you. Probably because I'm a bushcraft instructor for a living and spend all my money on overpriced tents and jackets

Hahaha its defo a legit style of outdoors skills
Not a fan of the small purse. The scarf and rest of contents are great. Your GF is quite beautiful. Good for you!
That's why I put a ring on her finger haha. Sorry about the belt pouch/purse. I should use more tactical language "repurposed tactical dump pouch" 🤣
@@inforestsandlands just think it's cultural. We don't so much in the usa
