Thanks for that. Looked like a cracking ground, stick a roof on it and that would've been some atmosphere.

Thanks for the greatful pictures! I was 3 times in the old bökelberg-Stadion, but it’s also good in the Borussia-Park

Wow this evoked great memories for me as I was part of British Forces Germany during the seventies stationed just a few miles from Mönchengladbach.
Berti Vogts (A.K.A. Dirty Berti by us Brits), Alan Siemesen, Riener Bonhof, Wolfgang (treble) Klef are the first names that spring to mind from those days.
I'm not sure if the Inter game you mentioned was played at the Bökelburg as all the European ties were required by UEFA to be played away from there for 'safety reasons'. I remember the terracing there was insanely steep.
    Great, great memories, thanks.

Nice that you loved the stadium and the matches, Mr Fawcett! I envy you, cause you witnesses Borussia’s golden decade, I started in the 80 to go there… The British Army retired from Gladbach, that was a sad goodbye back then, the British families belonged to our city and gave us a more international flair! But we still have some dozens of English fans coming to our matches, they love the atmosphere in the Bundesliga, still real support and fans, not merely investors, foreign club owners and customers instead of fans like in many stadiums of the Premiere League nowadays… pure football is still in the center, not the business… 👍

@@AchimE The second item on my "Bucket List" is to visit the new Gladbacher station and watch Der fohlen one more time. 🙂

Very nice video, thanks for your efforts! The atmosphere at the Bökelberg was unique, the high stands, got wet in the rain and snow, no roof… in my memories we could create a better support there with 30k fans than in the new stadium with 50k… but now I love the Borussia Park too, saw Champions League there and the national team played there several times, that was not possible at the old Bökelberg… 👍⬛️⬜️🟩
