I have a small question. What do you think about Deja Vu (Anaemoia remix)? I find that version exponentially better than the original even tho I already enjoy the original. The original isn't amazing for me but the remix version seems to suit the style of the vocals and melody much better.

@@wendyszimzalabimoutfit3328 you’re referring to different “retro” sounds tho, op is referring to 2nd/3rd gen style as the “retro” sound that kpop needs to bring back (like deja vu, which is like a modern 2024 take on that mid 2000s to mid 2010s sound), not the 80’s disco retro trend that happened in 2020-2021.
The music industry has been bringing back retro as a whole since 2020. You're lowkey behind. It's actually about time they move on from retro. That wave is over.
The issue with xg as carkpop has said multiple times is that they do not write their lyrics which makes it very difficult to rate them at all when it comes to rapping. The main defence for it is that they are all japanese and might have difficulties writing in English which is the languages they make most of their music in, but i feel that is a bad excuse because if so then they should not be making english songs and rather focus on japanese so that they can get some writing, or at least make a couple more japanese songs etc for their cyphers so they can prove that they can write aswell, since right now we do not know that.
It's okay if they don't write their own lyrics. Because it's clear they don't. But why a lot of people are okay with it because it is clear that those around them understand western culture.
@@P4NGC4KEZ. It is not ok if they are trying to be treated like actual rappers since rappers write their stuff, you can't really praise their skills much since they do not write. They are fine idols and I love wake up as a song personally, but I do not really praise their rapping much.
@@arstan8092 lol they are a pop group. Just take their rap at face value. Nobody expects them to write their own lyrics. Just appreciate their efforts in actually delivering at a very high level of the subtle nuances in the rhythm of the poetry.
@@P4NGC4KEZ. Yes and they are fine as idol rappers. No writing so not actual rappers, but remember there are alot of rappers in kpop writing their own raps. The idol rappers will not be able to be graded to the top with the rappers writing since writing is a main part of rapping. Most rappers can do what they are doing just as well. Self writing is extremely important for anyone to be taken seriously within rap.
For the 2 : it's right that it's the first English track of ive, but i don't think it was actually considered as a comeback (in english, like dynamite by bts or aespa's better things) as it was never promoted. The purpose was more to have an ive/starship contract with warner records to build a partnership and by so facilitate their concerts management/ booking / planning and album sells in the us. It wasn't for the music, but also more to connect with the western audience and it works amazingly in their concerts as a "encore". Overall i agree, even with this 2 ;)
I actually agree. Having seen IVE in concert, All Night does work as a final encore song, it's just a fun little treat to bring down the concert. But I'd never think to listen to the song on it's own. If IVE ever goes for more english tracks as an effort to promote internationally, it'll most likely feel way more like an actual promoted release than All Night did.
I'm surprised you didn't include NCT Dream's Smoothie. The chorus is so monotonous, the constant whispering of "smoothie" gets on your nerves. Complete waste of a good concept and music video on a terrible song
I was expecting smoothie too😭😭😭 I ult NCT and dream is my fave unit but that comeback was so disappointing (ISTJ was a bit of let down for me too so I was extra bummed out by smoothie😭). The album was boring and smoothie felt like a song any boy group could do. The concept was so pretty and interesting i have no idea why made the MV fruit ninja core and blender noises. I feel like BOX or unknown would’ve been better tt choices
regarding 6 i agree. i enjoy the first chorus but with the rest it’s like i can hear their boredom? like there’s not the energy i feel that is needed? 😭😭
I expected BBB to be here. The only catchy thing about BBB is the pre-chorus. Man, I miss PK's horror concept, can they continue the cliffhanger from Sweet Juice pls?
At least their bside quality is still as high as ever. But they need to get better at choosing title tracks. I still look forward to their releases because I can be certain there will be something for me to enjoy

As sad as I am to agree, One Spark belongs here. I ended up unstanning because they've just lost the sound that made me love their music so so much, unfortunately. They were my ult group and I still love them but the music has lost me completely.
Nah If you unstanned because of One Spark then you're not a fan imao because that album was just to promote in west and celebrate their anniversary the song don't have to be amazing for a anniversary😂😂
just watch carkpop, he brings up what he thinks are the best rappers in the industry and there are a handful of self written rappers. he once made a tierlist of rappers which also included how much each rapper wrote their lines
I mean yeah, when you know that a real rapper is someone like Kdot, Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Tupac, you can't use the same term for Kpop rappers because they are not on the same level. The lyrics are bland, the flows are the same. No one in Kpop can be put on the same level especially the popular ones like BTS's rap line, Soyeon, SKZ's rap line, etc., who are considered good. Western rappers tell stories in their songs, their albums are on another level. You cannot put Good kid, M.A.A.D City next to any of the rap albums in Kpop. I would say that Kpop rappers are on the level of Drake - they sing to their haters about success or any cliché subject because no one has lived in the same environment as the goat rappers from the west, no one has experienced the same things as them.
@@PyramidGame-dibnaur bts rap line excluded. Skz and Soyeon are pretty good too so to say especially not them is crazy. Agreed, no one can top the originators as Kendrick said they did not live a life like his but bts rapline (who do not only rap to theor haters or about success) and a few others are real rappers.
i feel like some korean rappers (mostly khiphop) try too hard to be hard and tough which is hella cringe considering they live in one of the safest countries lmao. But some have a really good flow and lyricism like bts, soyeon, yechan, jongseob, ph1, skz, and ateez recently.
@@kimberiyyy I mean I think it's more that they are borrowing aesthetics that don't come from them. It's like Lisa rapping about her grills in her newest song, what grills? Does she have grills? Does she wear them? It's not even about reality, a lot of rap is based on selling a fantasy, but hip hop is selling a very specific fantasy rooted in their experiences. And so when that fantasy is just copied and pasted into a different country with a completely different culture it feels out of place.
I agree with BBB, EASY, Deja Vu, and One Spark. These songs aren’t terrible to me but they’re very mid. I wish purple kiss went back to their dark concepts cause omg they are so good!!! And twice needs to find their exact mature sound that works for them. Deja Vu is good but not good enough for sure and easy I rarely ever listen to
All twice members are over 25, you know it wouldn’t fly for them to go back to a cute concept. They just need to find a mature sound that works for them, and ditch retro
@@dotcom3015 yeah I think they just haven’t found their exact mature sound just yet. And you do make a good point about the fact they’re a lot older now and the cute concepts may not work for them anymore
I agree with every song on this list, with the exception of "Deja vu." I guess I am just a sucker for cheesy, corny, oudated tunes, but I do think that song could have been so much better with a proper prechorus and build-up.
@@Beomgyuswifeu it was supposed to be bit ppl don’t consider it one like no offense yeonjun is my bias but that ain’t what u call a rap, its more like a little fast vocal..
So happy I’m not the only one who does not vibe with maestro, one spark, King Kong But I like BBB it’s so catchy and chill imo, and I also love De ja vu very powerful Great video
I love woke up with my whole life idk. Also I don’t mind that they don’t write they’re own lyrics, I don’t think it takes away from them being extremely talented girls.
I completely understand your criticism about XG’s “Woke Up” even though it’s become one of the most meaningful KPOP songs of all time for me. I’d like to thank you for giving it a listen anyway even though it isn’t up your alley too. I think a lot of people in the West don’t understand how far the rabbit hole goes in terms of how powerful it was for a member of XG to shave her head in real time for the music video. In 2013 an idol from the infamous girl group AKB48 was forced to shave her head and apologize on live television for having a boyfriend and it brought me to literal tears seeing Cocona do this in a video. Cheesy I know, but even in the West, shaving your head doesn’t have necessarily good connotations (see Brittney Spears, Doja Cat, etc) The fact that the MV is also a masterpiece thematically that is dedicated to Asian Women Supremacy (tm) took my breathe away!
While I can agree or have no opinion towards some choices, I can't forgive Deja Vu being here ahahah It's just that good for me (but about lengths yeah totally)
Oh wow I was not expecting Déjà vu to be on this list 😮 Imo the song is really emotional and has a sense of longing I always appreciate in these types of concept. Hybe did disappoint me a lot this year with projects like maestro, easy, how sweet and frankly any Bts release, but I would put déjà vu with their better releases like magnetic, plot twist and fatal trouble.
feel the pop has grown on me but i agree that it's not their best song. it's an interesting hyperpop-y song but there's like, no bass in it, it feels empty in a weird way. but there are some other things that happened that i think give us a clue of what was going on with this comeback. when wakeone announced their comeback date, even the members were surprised, and they opened preorders with out any sort of album or content previews, like, we didn't know what any of the album art or inclusions looked like. so it's clear that it was rushed, probably to slot them in at a time when other big names weren't having comebacks because that definitely contributed to them getting no wins for crush, but probably also because they changed their title track last minute which i'll get to next. the members also mentioned that they specifically requested sweat to be their pre-release track, but it definitely has the feel of a zb1 title track. they also filmed the sweat mv a good amount of time before the feel the pop mv, because ricky still had blonde hair and the bts content shows it was cold outside. i'm pretty sure ricky had already dyed his hair red by the time they were promoting yura yura in japan in march. i think what happened is sweat was **supposed** to be the title track, but then the opportunity came up to work with max schneider (fairly well known american singer, composer of feel the pop) so they completely rearranged their comeback plans to make feel the pop the title, and this caused everything else to be rushed and feel unfinished, and it's why the members had to beg to still also promote sweat, which they all clearly liked better. it's nice that we got kind of two rounds of promotions out of it, with sweat promoted as a pre-release bside, but sweat would have made a killer title track and then they could have just done, idk, some special stages with hello or something. anyway, it's a shame it happened that way, but i enjoyed the album overall so i'll get over it.
I feel like All Night by Icona Pop was actually super popular in Europe😅 but that might just be my memory misleading me. I for one loved the throwback and nostalgia and I’m just a casual listener of the group.
Wakeone management will most likely never get better. Not only kep1er, but their former group to1. I followed that group closely and they often neglected their promotion, management, and music production quality. They communicated poorly with fans and 4 members of the group ended up leaving and they disbanded after no promotions or releases for over a year. I assume this is most likely because of the poor management and treatment of the group by wakeone. Their focus went to boys planet, which is,, okay in theory, zb1 is doing okay popularity wise, but knowing wakeones history it makes the future of their groups pretty sketchy
My biggest disapointment this year was G-idle´s latest comeback, I know its not bad but its definetly not my cup of tea, I really miss G-idle´s early releases.... they sound so pop rn.
exactly. ever since queencard i never liked any group song of theirs, wife was boring, super lady was overhyped and not that good and klaxot isn’t that bad but i wouldn’t say good either.
I personally don't consider deja vu as the worst song, but it's kinda mid to me considering how short the song is and it frustrates me how there is no bridge at all (I honestly hate that trend in kpop nowadays lol). Completely agree with I'll see you there tomorrow tho. I claimed that song during the album preview and I never regretted it after listening to the whole song.
Deja vu music and melody wise is chef's kiss. If only they've made the song longer it would have get into my top 3 txt title tracks. But for now it's my least fave. I don't hate the song tho. The anemoia remix is also 100x better.
The worst songs definitely were Le Sserafims easy album. Easy and Smart felt so empty, similar to perfect night. I am not following their new releases anymore if their next cb isn´t in my music taste. The hate they get on everything around the cb was undeserved I just don´t like the music direction they took after Unforgiven. Katseye was such a mean debut to give to the group not even a prope song time. I like the different nationalities and voices in kpop so yeah. Hybe just doesn´t do it for me this year despite nj. The biggest letdowns were Purple Kiss BBB (the bsides were better but also none that blew me away) , Yuqis whole EP aside from Could it be and Soojins tt. Soojins bsides ate but Mona Lisa didn´t do it for me. On Purple Kiss: Their company is in big financial problems so propbly some prodcers switched sadly. It is a case of a group not doing well initially having great songs then the company fumbling :'(
It’s funny, I agree that a lot of these songs were disappointing to me, but I’m not sure I’d consider any of them (except maybe BBB) to be it the top 10 worst title tracks of the year.
If anyone’s curious, some tts and singles I might consider would probably be BBB, King Kong (oops, that was in the vid), Stuck in the Middle, Smoothie, Oh Mmy : 7s (it tricked me into not being excited for tws), Sweat (worse than feel the pop imo), Wish You Hell, and Bad Villain this is not a definitive list, just my first thought
"Easy" is like my 8th favorite comeback of the year (but it's their worst title imo, "Smart" is much better), but I HIGHLY agree with "Maestro," "Feel the POP," and "Deja Vu." I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought "Deja Vu" sounded outdated, leave these kinds of songs in 2020 please
Twice has become so westernized and it makes me so sad. I think JYP has stopped putting effort in as Twice will always have been that group and if they loose popularity, they at least had a booming career once. It’s so sad I was they could get genuinely mature adult concepts. I want to see a title track with vibes like Perfect World:(
Actually I totally agree, except for Maestro and Debut. I mean, Debut was disappointing af but the song itself is a BOP. HYBE failed tremendously, they just wanted streams
If you're gonna rate XG's lyrics from a kpop perspective, then they're just not for you. They have american and japanese writers and I'm not surprised that some of ya'll aren't getting what they're putting down. Those of us who were raised in the culture know that their writing and lyricism is top-notch, and is what you'd expect from a rnb producing group like they've got.
Even though theyre not kpop they are closer to the kpop rap than american. They dont even compare to them so seeing them from a kpop perspective is complete valid
Feel the bop is a grower for me. The first time I thought the same as you but after a couple of times it got stuck in my head and I often listen to it when I want a happy song. I've listened to it more than Sweat although I think Sweat is better (if that makes sense). Feel the pop is catchier in my opinion but their vocals are better showcased in Sweat
saying that the song with the lyrics "find me in tokyo rapping in a skirt, are you catching my drift though?" (which is GENIUS if you know the reference) is bad and makes no sense is wild to me
I agree with you. People who said the chorus is too repetitive, did they hear the whole verses?! The chorus itself is a break from the back to back rapping so it make sense for a "lighter" chorus in a rap track. Also the lyric, it gave wordplays, rhymes, references, and flow. How does it not make sense? Is it because nowadays, performers SHOULD write their own songs too? People are just aggravating.
@@craneisthename It's not about "bitches and hoes' and selling drugs and shooting cops, so westerners think it's not real rap. It kinda says a lot about western culture.
do not agree with woke up at all. chancellor and jakops cooked something delicious. why would you bring their ability to write at all when rating the quality of a song? btw they DID actually work on their xyphers the thing is that they are a multi-talented group. they can all rap, sing, dance outstandingly. they already did a vocal-based song (winter without you), so why this all-rap song doesn’t make sense all of a sudden? also, it is really strange to hear someone put a song of the genre they don’t usually like on a list of /overall/ the worst songs of the year? especially when rap- production- lyric- and performance-wise it’s incredible? no hate, but it was weird
I'm really happy we all seem to have the same views on KATSEYE's "Debut" (which isn't an actual debut??). It feels rushed even if Dream Academy ended eons ago. There's so much potential with this girl group, I expect better from HYBE.
You are definitely in the minority for Deja Vu, that song is beautiful. It sounds “outdated” to you because it’s not jumping on trends but rather harkening to a time where there was emotion and drama in pop music. I think it’s actually timeless in that way. Sorry, you are tasteless on this one bestie
I was obsessed with Debut. For about three days. And for two of those three days, I was listening to an extended version where someone added a dance break and final chorus. We just got so many other good songs this year and even in the last summer that I forgot about it.
Totally agree with 8, the chorus with the repetitive lyrics is a bit too underwhelming for me. Woke up for me is very underwhelming because I feel like the badass concept in the lyrics is kind of abandoned by the instrumental. Ironically i like feel the pop, which gets saved by the summer and chill vibes they were going for and it just feels more fitting and makes sense kinda. Overall, I disagree with 5 and 4 and I agree with 10, 6 and 2, the rest I kinda don't care for :D Btw love that you're back, you were the one who inspired to get into ktube and I hope you stick around
tbh i know everyone has their own opinion but king king is not closed to being bad like what some ppl make it to be. i think a lot of y'all just don't like treasure and listen to them with the mentality of ''it's gonna be bad'' cause if the song was released by a generally liked bg it would've been so hyped...i see kpop stans always hyping up mid songs with weak vocals no bridge and i feel like king kong is what a real 3rd gen fun song sounds like
It's not Hybe. It's literally Geffen. Kpop is literally copying what's trending, so that's why their sounds look good, while in Pop, they all try to be the trendsetter, and luck plays a huge role.

Just because Bobby, Suga, Rm were street rappers does not mean they should be put in the same category as the western goats because when you look at their work and put it next to the western ones, there is a clear difference. "D-day" is nothing compared to any of the work of the real goats in the west (except for Em's awful Revival album)
LITERALLY!!! I feel its kinda of disrespectful when kpop stans put their KPOP rappers on the same level as real rappers . Im not saying their rapper bad or anything it just feels less authentic and creative in a sense. The rappers that you named like kdot and tupac have lyrics with meaning and show passion for their craft and the rap culture in general whereas kpop raps feel like space fillers in songs or an imitation. But ig thats js how i see it as someone immersed in bot rap and kpop its just incomparable.
I don't stan katseye or vcha but one thing I noticed is both groups have a very childish sound to them. I think what makes me like vcha more is that they don't try to deny their childlike, disney songs. Katseye was going for, like you said, a bad girl vibe but came off as sort of childish and I hope Hybe either has them play into the childish songs, like vcha, or has them go a different route. I think they could be so great if they had a more RnB influenced sound, like the 90s and 2000s Destiny's Child and TLC, or like today's Flo.
Kaylee just turned 14 right around their debut, so yeah they kinda have to be a little PG-13 for awhile. If she's still in the group. If they're still a group. 😢 I do hope at some point they can do what Twice did and slowly mature the sound without being trashy.
Easy is literally easy to listen to no pun intended. It’s literally the perfect song when you want to workout or just go on a walk. The only thing I kind of don’t like about it is the beeping sound in the beginning of the track.
I know ppl rlly love purki's darker and more theatrical and dramatic concepts but i genuinely don't understand how so many people dislike BBB so much. It's such a fun and casual listen that just makes you wanna bounce. Although I agree it isn't their best work (the bridge and ending could be much better) it's still nowhere near bad at all. Bbb > memem any daayyy bro
I didn't like All night by IVE too much either and at first I didn't get why they released this kind of song... Until they went on tour in the US. As a dive who has been following them, I realized they released this song as an ending song for their concerts and from the clips I've seen it's a blast on stage. The song per se, is questionable. But taken into the context of performing it in concerts in the US, you'd get it. But I also get how non-fans wouldn't. I feel like it was released more for their US tour rather than taking a shot at the marker, considering it wasn't even promoted that much and they only sang it in concerts.
Nahhhhh I actually really really like BBB and would rank it at the top of the year's releases rn, the fact you're ranking it so low is CRIMINAL to me!!
I never take people's best or worse list of songs too seriously because different people have different musical preferences due to their own connetions to music. There's at least one song here that I enjoy but that's fine. Not every can hate or love the same things you do.
Lol, let's hear some clickbait. Just a remark though: the critic about XG is misled: they're Japanese, does anyone really expect them to write raps in english? C'mon... Their rap is dope.
@@Rachel-sm7ym Lol, one day you'll discover that pretty much every single famous US rapper has a team writing raps with/for them, like any other songwriter... The guy doing his stuff in his corner with his guitar is loooog gone. Today, writing music is an industry, with teamwork, brainstormings, and consultants. A star like Taylor Swift has a dozen of permanent authors writing for her, not even counting the countless people outside of the team who compete to propose songs and lyrics.
@@FlecheDeFer comparing taylor swifts songs to rap doesnt make sense because rap as a concept has been a strong part of black culture and has always valued style, creativity and individuality to differentiate REAL rappers and people who rap. Don't hate any of these songs, but most are in the mid/wouldn't re-listen more than two or three times box for me, so I get where your coming from. No offense but why are almost all gg songs included in the best k-pop songs in 2024 but most bg songs (with the exception of others) are included in the worst 😭😭 imo, deja vu and feel the pop didn’t deserve to be included in here at all…
Great chorus that sufferers from unrefined filler verses and a runtime of barely 2 minutes. It also doesn't display any of the members individual skills
the song is good as hell other than the short duration, the reason the reception is bad is because of how cheap and basic their debut looks visually (music video and styling/concept) and terrible promotion. a well produced music video and more fierce and appealing styling wouldve exploded their debut.
The chorus isn’t bad but the rest is barely there. Like it really sounds like nothing. Boring/bland instrumentals that add nothing of substance and lazy filler lyrics that take up most of the very short song. No bridge either with the whole song being basically only repeated lyrics. Not to mention that I personally think this song doesn’t fit their vocals, it just feels off.
7:56 I feel you , 2024 has so many good releases but also equally bad ones and I’m always nervous before listening to a new song cuz I know it might be really disappointing but also could be a bop ..

Okay so i highly agree with that you said for feel the pop. Zerobaseone has so many talented vocalist and giving them a lack luster song was a questionable choice by wk1. But IMO, Sweat was supposed to be the title track but since Max asked to write the lyrics for feel the pop, wk1 changed the tt to feel the pop in the last moment. Other songs in the album like ''Dear eclipse'' and ''hello'' showcase the vocal talent of the members.

That wave is over.
everybody complaining about easy when the real villain is smart
honestly that entire album is the villain ☠️ and i like majority of their other albums entirely so i just pretend easy doesn't exist
deja vu being on here is insane
The issue with xg as carkpop has said multiple times is that they do not write their lyrics which makes it very difficult to rate them at all when it comes to rapping. The main defence for it is that they are all japanese and might have difficulties writing in English which is the languages they make most of their music in, but i feel that is a bad excuse because if so then they should not be making english songs and rather focus on japanese so that they can get some writing, or at least make a couple more japanese songs etc for their cyphers so they can prove that they can write aswell, since right now we do not know that.
I couldn't agree more.
I feel like in 2030 we'll have 30 second songs😭😭 I hate it
For the 2 : it's right that it's the first English track of ive, but i don't think it was actually considered as a comeback (in english, like dynamite by bts or aespa's better things) as it was never promoted.
It's so comically bad it's good tbh 😂
Exactly
smoothie ate bye
Even though I love Dream I agree. The rest of the album is good though.
I expected BBB to be here. The only catchy thing about BBB is the pre-chorus. Man, I miss PK's horror concept, can they continue the cliffhanger from Sweet Juice pls?

He meant "his" worst songs of 2024 like the songs he didn't like, not generally the worst songs of 2024
Basically no one in kpop is a "real rapper" being real even a lot of khip hop falls short in my view
just watch carkpop, he brings up what he thinks are the best rappers in the industry and there are a handful of self written rappers. he once made a tierlist of rappers which also included how much each rapper wrote their lines

And twice needs to find their exact mature sound that works for them. Deja Vu is good but not good enough for sure and easy I rarely ever listen to

WHAAT I loved deja vu so much, i guess it reminded me a bit of old kpop maybe thats why
I love woke up with my whole life idk. Also I don’t mind that they don’t write they’re own lyrics, I don’t think it takes away from them being extremely talented girls.
Justice for Deja Vu! Literally everybody loves that song! And Katseye is not even a kpop group, though i agree the song is meh
Woke up and deju vu is literally my fav song of his year 😭😭
Oh wow I was not expecting Déjà vu to be on this list 😮 Imo the song is really emotional and has a sense of longing I always appreciate in these types of concept.
Honestly I like the original song but I didn’t like what they did with the instrumentals in the IVE version.
Its wasnt really super popular it was very mid popular

I think the bsides are good but Maestro was definitely not that interesting as a title track
king kong arguably has hyunsuk's best verse in treasure's discography, BUT the song does suck, yes
I got the Nicki-Minaj’s-verse-on-“Monster”-syndrome from King Kong thanks to Hyunsuk tbh.

If anyone’s curious, some tts and singles I might consider would probably be BBB, King Kong (oops, that was in the vid), Stuck in the Middle, Smoothie, Oh Mmy : 7s (it tricked me into not being excited for tws), Sweat (worse than feel the pop imo), Wish You Hell, and Bad Villain

Twice has become so westernized and it makes me so sad.
Which culture? If you’re talking about American hip-hop/rap culture, they weren’t raised in that either, that’s why if feels so disingenuous

People are just aggravating.

do not agree with woke up at all. chancellor and jakops cooked something delicious.
why would you bring their ability to write at all when rating the quality of a song? btw they DID actually work on their xyphers
the thing is that they are a multi-talented group. they can all rap, sing, dance outstandingly. they already did a vocal-based song (winter without you), so why this all-rap song doesn’t make sense all of a sudden? also, it is really strange to hear someone put a song of the genre they don’t usually like on a list of /overall/ the worst songs of the year? especially when rap- production- lyric- and performance-wise it’s incredible? no hate, but it was weird

You are definitely in the minority for Deja Vu, that song is beautiful. It sounds “outdated” to you because it’s not jumping on trends but rather harkening to a time where there was emotion and drama in pop music. I think it’s actually timeless in that way.

😢 I do hope at some point they can do what Twice did and slowly mature the sound without being trashy.
i dont think their sound is childish, debut was just kpop-ish in its lack of explicit lines

I agree, i love the song it still bops for me
I've found my people LMAO
PLEASE stop calling every slight underwhelming chorus an antidrop when it's not. BBB is not an antidrop for example
Smoothie sucks so bad how tf they made ISTJ, the epitome of a great boy group title track, to pull off one of the worst releases of the year
Although I felt disappointed as a Carat, I'm so thankful you explained respectfully why you didn't like Maestro 🫶
I never take people's best or worse list of songs too seriously because different people have different musical preferences due to their own connetions to music. There's at least one song here that I enjoy but that's fine. Not every can hate or love the same things you do.
the only disagreement I have with this video is that I thought god of music and sweat were bad too😭😭
Lol, let's hear some clickbait. Just a remark though: the critic about XG is misled: they're Japanese, does anyone really expect them to write raps in english? C'mon... Their rap is dope.
If they want to be taken seriously as “real rappers” they either need to start writing English lyrics or start rapping in Japanese
You’ll notice in the actual rap community that having ghost writers discredits people whereas rappers that create their own raps like kendrick lamar for example are seem as the real rappers
Don't hate any of these songs, but most are in the mid/wouldn't re-listen more than two or three times box for me, so I get where your coming from. But that's been a lot of comebacks this year and, as controversial as it is to say out loud, it's how I feel about Nayeon's ABCD, it's my biggest disappointment of 2024 so far. Again, the song isn’t bad, but it just doesn't do for me what Pop did
Crazy that XG and LSF are here but Aespa isn't when supernova is an absolute mess
no but how is feel the pop on this list ?? it's so catchy and one of my faves from this year 😭
No offense but why are almost all gg songs included in the best k-pop songs in 2024 but most bg songs (with the exception of others) are included in the worst 😭😭 imo, deja vu and feel the pop didn’t deserve to be included in here at all…
Debut was actually one of the best songs released this year. I'm surprised that the reception seems rather lukewarm.
Not to mention that I personally think this song doesn’t fit their vocals, it just feels off.
bro that song is so boring to me
7:56 I feel you , 2024 has so many good releases but also equally bad ones and I’m always nervous before listening to a new song cuz I know it might be really disappointing but also could be a bop ..
Dejavu is incredible and I’m not a Moa tbh
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like woke up and debut. Woke up sounds too minimalistic to me. I just don’t enjoy it at all. And for debut it just sounds stupid to me and I just hate it. I don’t agree with any of the other ones though but I understand why someone wouldn’t like them. Deja Vu is like my favorite song recently 🙏🙏
Instead of hating them how about keeping your own opinion to yourself cuz some people might like it (just to let you know)
Okay so i highly agree with that you said for feel the pop.
I hope PK will go out white background mv phase sooner. They had been so buried by the current kpop nowadays.
I honestly agree with everything. I didn’t listen to katseye's debut.
Is it just me that hates the quote "ur not a real rapper if u don't write ur lyrics" they're still rapping theirfofe a rapper
yeah but the ‘real’ part is writing their own raps which makes them come off as more authentic rappers
