@@suenorth4419 ME TOOOO; so funny.
I'm continually trying to figure what it may have been intended to be... like, stand on it and drag behind a horse to cultivate?
Its a bridle hook. @KDbbasm
ASMR- A superb morning ramble, I think fits the acronym best.🙂
Loved this ep!! A Full English breakfast video would be awesome. Have a great week!
The floral card was a Cigarette Card that came in the cigarettes. They were collectible and many people had books of them collected.
I had no idea. This was a thing. What a gap in my knowledge thank you ever so much.
Yep def a cig packet collectors card, my Grand father used to collect the bird ones. 👍🏼
That walk was just beautiful!❤
I vote for the wc. it will make the place that much more comfortable to work in. it is small so you'll get a quick win which is motivating for you and enticing for your audience. I am sure we'll all enjoy whatever you choose. 😊
@@Nicesusurrus and having a finished WC makes for more comfortable breaks while working on the rest. 👍🏼👍🏼
I have 2 choices. The WC so that there is a working one on the first floor. Old kitchen? Is this going to be the only kitchen? It is quite small. Maybe you can combine it with another room to make it bigger. Kitchen is really a necessity.
Such a beautiful walk. The dogs looked like they really enjoyed it. It is a wonder that you can find your way back.
I wish that I had the opportunity to see such a beautiful countryside.
A quick win certainly might be good, but I fear there will be no quick wins with this renovation ha ha
I'm not sure who is going to need to be more patient us or our lovely subscribers. I hope they don't abandon us.
This one won't 😊🎉. No worries! Fellow Brit here...watching from South India with great interest and amusement! Thanks for sharing your life with us all. No signs of abandonment yet.....
Just delightful from beginning to end. Must be an awful lot of work crafting these vids, so thank you!
Oh, it takes me at least 10 to 15 minutes Katie ha ha
"Between 50 BC and 1950." Lol squeaky happy laughter ensues.
What it is so difficult to tell isn't it?
I'm here (from Italy) for the English breakfast recipe AND I vote for the kitchen, of course! 😂
Leave it with me I will get something put together for you
Agreed on the kitchen and please for the recipe. Us South Africans even believe we have the full English breakfast licked, however we don't do the (is it blood sausage?). That's a step too far for us lot😂😂. Looking forward the next video.
Vote for the kitchen too❤
As an Escape to the Country junkie for 2 decades, I must say, you are the in the thick-of-it preservationists I’ve not been seeking, but indeed needed. Having followed you on instagram, I am able to now cook in the comfort of my kitchen (not nearly as historic and dignified as yours Will be) and listen to your antics in these long form videos of comedy. I adore you both. I thank you immensely. I think the Jack/Stewie voice has now become my internal monologue, which I so welcome. Thank you Jazzy and Jack! For life is short, and trying, and your comedic timing and wholesome UK love, is all but perfect. Thank you, from Florida. 🩵
Well Mariel you shower us with high praise indeed, we are entirely undeserving of it but immeasurably grateful for it. Thank you so very much for joining us on our journey, when we purchased Duncombe House last year we couldn't have dreamed that months later we would be making instagram reels and RUclips videos, the entire thing is in equal measures, totally bizarre and totally delightful.
We very much hope you enjoy todays episode 😊
I'm so glad it's not just me. Pip pip and all that what. Cheerio from Seattle.
Yesssss please, the Proper English Breakfast instruction video!!! My sister and I are addicts of your videos, we are not in the least ashamed to say!
Well that’s jolly lovely to hear, welcome to both of you! Full English tutorial coming up then
I'm dying to know what the dark round bread cake things are.
A quick description of haggis would be great too. It doesn’t sound delish.
it taste like what we would call sausage here in the states@@loripadilla1
It's sheep's heart, lungs and liver stuffed into a sheep's stomach with oatmeal and boiled until it turns translucent. Yum. @@loripadilla1
Your videos are simply scrumptious! I adore the narrator’s witty use of the Queen’s English. I am sure you are firm friends with the local antiques dealers, tell them you are on the lookout for a chimney surround of the same era as the house, they might be able to help you. I would start on the downstairs toilet/bathroom, comfort is important whilst renovating. (And someone will eventually spot you behind that bush..). Afterwards I would tackle either the dining room, or the sitting room- so that you can have a room that is finished and decorated and furnished, it will bring a huge sense of achievement and an actual place to wind down.
Makes complete sense: a house without a toilet/bathroom is right on the edge of barbaric. Then a place to forget the horrors of the day the sitting room. Just my opinion after many renovations here in the US of A.
Well, we do have a bathroom in the wash house which still works perfectly well so it's not too barbaric ha ha
Thyme Seed packet!
Also, "Nonsense, Nonsense!/That's what we're terribly short of!" Your 'ridiculous' videos are some of the best on the good old web right now. Thank you for taking us with you!
Well, Allison we can't ask for more than that thank you ever so much for your glowing review!
i have to admit, that reading the comments to the videos from the Duncombe House is additional pleasure
I'm very pleased to hear that ha
Absolutely a must!
Must add, that being an American right now I find great solace in simply listening to you repeatedly - especially after reading our "news". Thank you for an emotional escape as we rally to put up a fight over here.
Hello from Australia! 🐨🦘🇦🇺 LOVING your videos!! Appreciate you taking the time to film this all, edit and share with us all. It’s such a delight!!! 🥰🥰
Lovely walk through the pastures. Like true goldens, they found every mud puddle 😂.
They certainly know how to get muddy
The WC is a manageable size to hone one's building and restoration skills. Not to mention any mistakes will (hopefully) be in proportion to the room! Doing that room will also mean you will have to plan out the plumbing for the entire house - and THAT is an extremely important piece of the 3D puzzle.
A 3-D puzzle is an excellent metaphor. We have so much to plan it can feel very overwhelming!
The best channel on RUclips, superb production, and content with the most charming wonderful humans and animals xxx ❤❤❤
Gosh, you are very kind, Jeanette
❤️❤️❤️ xxx thank you
Watching you is such a wonderful funny ,interesting and peaceful time of my day. With all the madness going on. Thank you❤
You are so very welcome, Tammy. It's wonderful to have you here.
Dean and Borgia from My Tiny Estate? I’m sure they appreciate the cuteness
Absolutely right, Steve we have always been huge fans of their content and so when it came to naming our cats they were the first people we thought of ha ha
They most certainly are inspirational
Dear Sir, thank you for sharing your time at the museum. You had me in tears there for a few moments. So many objects were familiar, items from my grandparent’s home. Items they had brought with them when they set up housekeeping here in California (both having been citizens from Canada). They arrived here in California after grandfather served in Her Majesties Army during WWI. Over the years, everything they owned was saved, restored or repurposed. And for sure, the hardware store you spotlighted definitely looked just like my grandfather's workshop. Your video today was a kind reminder of my time with them and their make do and mend lifestyle, long walks with dogs, log burning fireplaces and times of absolute quiet, except for a few birds chirping here and there. Best to you from sunny California where it was 70°F / 21°C today.
California sounds absolutely delightful today, thank you ever so much for tuning in all the way from the United States. It's lovely to have people here on the channel that appreciate our interests and nonsense!
I'm here in Las Vegas and will say again how much I love watching your channel. I wouldn't want to miss a minute of your renovation. The longer it takes you, the longer I get to watch and listen to your wonderful narration. Cheers!
couldn't be more of a contrast, from Vegas to the English countryside, the joy of computers
It is absolutely fabulous to hear that you are enjoying our channel, the idea of you enjoying it all the way from Las Vegas is quite dizzinging.
@@jillsallade7168 Amen!!!
Thank you for sharing all of your hard work and humor with us! Just loved your father’s museum, your passion for preserving our history roots quite clearly run deep. Truly enjoyed the peaceful walk and the cats and pups contribute greatly to the charm of your home. Take good care!
Jen, thank you to you for being so supportive! Yes the museum really is something quite special. It is full to the brim with interesting insights into our recent history. Please look out for a longer dog walk video which we have been putting together for everyone in order to help them relax on those Sunday mornings!
@@DuncombeHouseDiaries Wonderful!
Might I make a suggestion? The tiles you found in the fire place, they would make really cute outdoor table tops. Here in the US, there are some really lovely table tops made out of broken tile and cement. When you manage your garden this spring, you will need a place to take breaks with tea or coffee.
Very true Tammy and a very nice idea and as soon as we have some spare time, we will be cracking on with all manner of craft projects!
That museum was amazing!! I just love the nonsense you put out! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love your property and look forward to your renovations…but…my most favorite thing of all is your absolutely delightful and humorous narration. Well done !! ❤watching from Canada.
Welcome to you all the way in Canada it’s lovely to have you here!
The plane is a coopers plane for barrel making. Love the channel and best wishes!
Was going to comment this. Glad i wasn't the only one to make that connection😊
Brilliant, thank you so much John. That is good to know. I just couldn't understand how one person could possibly have wheeled it with any serious efficacy.
It’s actually a stationary plane and the workpiece moves over the plane…TTFN
4:40 It's a collectible cigarette card. As it says 2nd Edition, 39 of 59. So you'll only have to raid 58 more fireplaces to complete the series! Good luck!
Genius, thank you very much. This is extremely interesting and not something that I've considered.
I think it might be tea card rather than a cigarette card. I remember as a little girl my mother collecting the cards so we could stick them inside a small booklet. I remember they did fish as well. She didn’t smoke so it definitely wouldn’t be a cigarette card.
Just remembered it was Brooke Bond tea which had the cards in the tea packet.
You may already know…but it’s aWill’s Cigarette collectible card.
It's a Wills cigarette card from 1937 of wild flowers.
A ridiculously perfect bit o content to unwind at the end of my week.
Thanks ever so for taking me out for walkies. I especially loved learning the layout. And how generous to introduce us to more family members. Y'all are aces. 💛
Your kindness is so truly appreciated thank you!
❤ my vote is to start with the Boot Room. Since the wood stove is already installed might as well get it cozied up. Also might be good to add a dog washing station in one of the twins.
Yes, we can't wait to be a build a dog walking station!
Every renovation requires a WC which is both nice and actually works, maybe only for the lady but genuine delight to close a door on one useful and finished happy place.
Yes, I think we need to avoid ourselves that level of congeniality
Thank you for taking us to the Milton Keynes Museum how wonderful to see so much history and to get an insight as what your home may have been like. The walk was wonderful💕
Yes, me and my father certainly shared a keen interest in history!
You must start with the least essential/important/aesthetically prominent rooms! Thereby improving your skills as you progress toward the ‘state rooms’. Therefore I suggest, loo, hallways, kitchen, dining, sitting. Love, love, love, your videos. Keep ‘em coming!! Xx
I second the motion 😁 and I also am so glad for longer versions of your updates although I have kept up with your shorts. I also love your chapters it prepares the mind for the next adventure of the day. Love you guys, great fun we are restorers too but our little home if 6 rooms is 1920's ❤
Thank you ever so much Bev. Yes there is lots to think about and lots of planning to be done. We want to make sure that we get it right the first time!
Your dad looks like a sweet man and a very good sport 😊
He certainly is that!
Clive is magnificent, it’s going to be a pleasure watching any room done. You have such a beautiful house, watching her return to all glory is the process I’m looking forward to 😁
you are a breath of fresh English air❤
Thank you ever so much, Anna Maria
Love. Love. Love. it all!! ❤❤
Thank you ever so much, Barbara. It's jolly good to have you here with us.
I would watch 10 hours straight of the ASMR dog walks! The crunches! The splashes! All so good
Bravo!!! Yes, do a job right, worth it every time!! I, too, was tossed off the YT notifications, I did re-add myself. Your commentary is so delightful, this US person needs you so much right now. I adore the way you praise your partner - bless you!! Thank you for this program!!! I have restored a home once. It's hard. Thank you so much!!!
If you are feeling artsy crafts, you could make a mosaic stepping stone out of the tile fragments
We both very much hope to have time for all that kind of fun once the house is finished!
I have absolutely clicked the bell and all. I can’t imagine missing one moment of absolute moment of sardonic updates or a incredible round of sarcasm. I feel I would simply perish at the thought of missing one single minute of the fascinating moment of the guided tour through your amazing home. Though not as fascinating as your narrative on it ❤️😎
Gosh you are so terribly kind Melissa it's jolly good to have folk here like yourself who are so optimistic and positive!
Look like a seed packet to me. Thank you for another wonderful update. Always good to hear your charming voice 👏
Love, love, LOVE your videos….many thanks from California!
Thank you ever so much for joining us all the way from California
I adore long walks in the country with my dog. Sitting here in the warm with my tea and very heavily buttered toast, I could sit and watch videos of them for hours. Thanks for the lovely asmr.
Well, it's funny you should say that because hopefully very soon we will have something together for you that you can enjoy for an hour ha ha
I think most of us would like your English breakfast recipe. Thank you so much!
Indeed we would!!
Jolly good than Monica, I will carve out some time to put one together for you
I vote bathroom first and then kitchen. Love the videos, no matter. They tend to my heart of remodeling anything. Splendid home! ❤❤❤
Ever so kind thank you!!
Renovate the WC first. Also known as the necessary room, it may be necessary. Next, I recommend the kitchen. Maybe switch the boot room with the kitchen. You need a bigger kitchen. Clive is very handsome. And I was very impressed with your dad's knowledge of the museum, which was fabulous.
We certainly do need a bigger kitchen despite the house being absolutely massive. The kitchen really is not in proportion and this has been quite the head scratcher for us.
I’ll say it again….your videos are absolutely wonderful. I wish for you so much success with your endeavor. Thank you so much for allowing me to take my mind off of “The Madness of king trump” for at least a little while! And yes…please do a full English breakfast. All the best!
Jolly, good to have you here very happy to hear that you are able to gain some escapism from my videos!
I vote for either the WC or the boot room!
The most expensive room is Brenda. You have good taste.
I would start in the WC first, priority. Second I would do Lounge or Office. Your home is beautiful with so much charm. Looking forward to see the rooms when finished.
Thank you ever so much you are very kind to say so
As I’m practical, I would start with the WC because of its usefulness. 😊
Yes, that does seem to be the sensible choice, doesn't it!
I love your videos. So good to see the puppers have a mud wallow. I think you are underestimating the function of the kitties. Not only do they provide good pest control services, but they are usually quite decorative. With the exception of the visits to the kitty-loo, cats' poses add more to the decor than designer pillows. I always loved to come home on a cold winter day to the cats cuddling on the sofa-- so homey!
Thank you ever so much for joining us here, Debra, we are certainly very lucky to have such a loving bunch of animals at the house
My heart💗says the lounge but my 🧕says the water closet because you could be using it asap!!!
We do already have a WC, but it is outside in the wash house
I actually squealed a little when I saw you had a new video. The chapter opener is my favorite, I could watch those trees in the breeze with the cheerful miss marple music all day.
These rooms with their curves, hard to pick a favorite but I'd get in the WC and Lounge first. Gotta have a place to clean up and rest after all the hard work.
I am so glad you will take your time. It will be done well, if not always right.
Onward intrepid restorers! I'm in for the long haul.
Slainte! And a huzzah to your dad and the museum.
I was in the middle of watching something else when I noticed notification. Never clicked as fast nearly dropped my phone.😅
@helenab7390 🤣 I totally get it.
Golly gosh, you are both so very kind thank you ever so much for being so supportive, Cynthia, we are making it up as we go along so the fact that you are enjoying it really is so heartwarming!
I'm fairly agnostic about where you start. However, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE save the fireplace in the office. It's just beautiful. Thank you for another highly fun and entertaining video. As my country slides into Fascism, I need videos like this to remind me there are still sane people in the world. Take care, Donald
Start with the kitchen! The house is so beautiful! I can’t wait to watch the restoration. ❤
Thank you ever so much, Barbara. It's fabulous to have you here!
Your English breakfast looks deliciously amazing
Thank you ever so much, Jennifer. I certainly enjoyed it.
I don’t know what I love more, the videos or the commentary ❤😊
I absolutely adored the ASMR walk because the countryside is incredibly beautiful and it's a real joy to see the dogs running around and being so free. Also, still love the chapters! Haggis looked amazing! And yes, to the lovely English breakfast tutorial. I think you should start with a front room because of the light. I like the idea of working in rooms where there is natural light. Anyway, whatever you choose will be fabulous, I'm sure. Thank you for the brilliant museum tour! So happy to see your father on camera, that was very kind of him. And kind of your friend to film the nature walk! Thanks to them as well! ❤
Thank you ever so much and as always you are so kind and supportive. We will be putting together a longer walk for the water to enjoy very soon so please do let me know what you think of it when it comes out!
my heart skips a beat when i see a new episode is up,
So looking forward to the next one.
I appreciate how much time it takes, but absolutely worth it!
Thank you ever so much, Lorraine. We do appreciate the support.
What do you mean you're not Michelangelo and you don't pretend to be him? Your modesty never ceases to amaze me! You must accept the fact that the men of the Renaissance would have envied your many and varied skills, among which, of course, drawing was included! Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar!
Well, you are extraordinarily kind but I fear your praise although very warmly welcomed is undeserved perhaps in a few years when I can dedicate myself full-time to the arts I will become more accomplished
Love you guys! Love your new episode! Your English breakfast looked very yummy although as an Italian I will pass on the haggis lol. Sending you big love from Los Los Angeles. The asmr was perfection! ❤
If you ever get the opportunity to try Haggis, please do it is far better in reality than it sounds or looks ha ha
❤Another delightful episode. It’s a seed packet.
Thank you ever so much, Colleen
I would love to see the lounge, front entry and hallway have a makeover first and then can work on the dining room and stairs.
Start at the front and went backwards very sensible
Fabulous video once again 👏🏼 I vote for boot room renovations first! Can’t wait to see.
I think the boot room is going to be our favourite room, Amelia Bowles - t5s
Regarding the glacial pace of your renovation:
1. It makes it only more enjoyable when you take the time to also look at history, landscaping, handicrafts etc. 😊
2. Much more importantly, your approach of a sympathetic renovation deserves the biggest of applauses! Only in that way it can be ensured that nothing is overseen, destroyed in a rush or not taken care of to prevent future damages! By moving slowly, you can act considerately and cauciously and thereby make sure to have minimal intrusion and maximal preservation of valuable historic fabric. 🎉
Well that’s exactly what we hope to achieve so thank you awfully for your lovely and supportive comment
I think the floral piece of card is an old cigarette card, they used to include them in the packet, and you were meant to send off for the booklet into which you'd stick the card and collect the whole series. I think it mentions on the card that it was a set of 50? (they also used to do something similar in packs of tea)
I’m guessing the paper is a remnant of the collector’s cards that came in cigarette packs. I have a collection myself of birds & eggs. They’re lovely. 😊
Yes, it appears from the comments that you are correct how very interesting thank you ever so much and well noticed
Splendid! 😂 💙🌏💙
Thank you ever so much, my friend
The Office please I think it's the best place to start!!!
An important place for penning ones letters
👌❤and thank you for the MK museum footage - had no idea it existed!
I have the same caste iron and Brass bed thats in the museum.
Try Google maps, type in “museums near me”, or you can search any area you like farther away. That info will cost 1500 pounds. PM me for my address🇺🇸
Yes Paula Milton Keynes doesn't necessarily scream out as a location for a museum does it? But it really is a fabulous place entirely run by volunteers and full of the most fantastic treasures!
I vote for the kitchen, so that you can make some more delicious meals and prepare the lovely afternoon teas.
And the most expensive room to do, Linda, you have excellent taste
I love the Marple-esque chapter pages. Youre making this a real production.
Thank you ever so much Jules. We are putting a lot of time and energy into making these videos good so it's so joyous to hear that people are enjoying them.
Awesome video. As far as what room to start on. Put them all on a piece of paper and drop them in a tea kettle and see which one comes out first. 👍👍👍
Well, that sounds like a jolly sensible way to make the decision Lonnie thank you ever so much
Love your videos. Love those beautiful kitties, 🩷.
Thank you ever so much, Nicole
Watching from the drought-stricken, fire-adjacent, earthquake-prone arid, coastal plain that is Orange County, California. The flora, fauna, topography, cuisine, and weather from your part of the globe is exotic and wondrous. I'm looking forward to experiencing an English spring and summer. Imagine having four seasons!
My heart just gave a little leap - I saw I could enjoy another visit to Duncombe.
You are so terribly kind, thank you
My favorite piece found so far in the house is "the pot of stuff that leaked onto a thing!" Too damn funny and brilliantly descriptive!! 🤣🤣🤣I'd love to see what you do with the Old Kitchen and WC. And YES, PLEASE, a video on a full English breakfast! 😎
Thank you ever so much Eilleen. Yes, the pot of stuff that leaked onto a thing really is the most special thing we have found so far and I cannot wait to display it pride of place somewhere.
😂😂😂😂❤
I loved the ASMR segment. It must have taken several takes to perfect the collision sequence. Nice bit of choreography!
You may think that Gayle but they are constantly charging full tilt towards us for no reason it is quite bizarre
@@DuncombeHouseDiariesMy sister broke her hip and wrist when her springer spaniel, running full tilt, came at her from behind, hit the back of her knees and knocked her down. Please be careful!
Another wonderful and entertaining video! Thank you for the floor plan sketch.....it's fun to picture the layout of the house. I'd vote for the little WC too....practicality is one reason, but remodels and updates of small bathrooms are something most people can relate too. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you ever so much, Nancy. It's lovely to have you here on the channel. Please do look forward to the next video!
Love love love your videos. Thank you for taking us all along on your journey with your beautiful house. ❤
Delightful as always. Thank you
You are more than welcome, Sharon thank you ever so much for being here with us
Another vote for the downstairs loo renovation pls. I’m no expert in these things so was wondering why the fireplace is so deep? Another wonderful video thank you.
Loving these videos - thank you!
You are so very welcome, David. Thank you ever so much for joining us here.
Nothing has ever been more charming.
Well Victoria you are terribly kind
Oh yes, please...I would love to make a full English breakfast. I was lucky enough to enjoy a few on a visit in the 80's. The memory has remained as one of the best meals ever...well, next to a Sunday Roast. Today's video is a joy to watch as always. Enjoy your week!
Well, I will certainly put something together for you, Julianne and at some point if it goes well, maybe we will attack the Sunday roast
I would love to see what you do with the Lounge and entry you have a beautiful new home and loving fur family
Thank you ever so much we have lots to do but cannot wait to get stuck in
I vote 1) wc 2) kitchen 3) office ( to have a place to work and pay for rehab.)
Jolly good Nina, thank you ever so much
The only thing in which I take issue with these videos is that they aren't longer! I could watch all day long. I appreciate the time and effort you make to entertain this Ohioan.
Well, if that's your only complaint, then I think we haven't done too badly, ha ha
The ASMR was wonderful!!!
Very pleased to hear you enjoyed it. We are going to be releasing a much longer video soon with a mixture of ASMR and classical piano.
💛💛💛 I love the quiet walk! 💛
Very pleased to hear that!
Oh, the kitchen and wc first! Once those 2 are done, the rest can follow much more comfortably and easily. And absolutely do a video of a full English! Ta ta ☕️
I feel there will be no rest for us for many years now, Nancy ha ha
@DuncombeHouseDiaries LOL, you speak truth!!🤣
Lovely to have a new video and a walk with the dogs! They definitely are water dogs! And so is Jack? I think, with his deliberate walking in that deep puddle!
I think you should start with the WC and that small kitchen - the plumbing will be connected anyway, and with those to very necessary rooms completed, rest stops and tea will be easily available, and the the rest will be more comfortably finished!
There is no way that I can resist a puddle
I love your comment about the cats the museum is interesting as is your father.
The cats are such funny little murderers
❤ home and family!!!’ Wishing you all best
Your cats are beautiful.
I would have to agree with you on that one
Would love to see the lounge plans.
Would love to see a full English breakfast video!
Once again, smiles galore! Looks like you are having early spring. Thank you for the whistle wetting, the wonderful walk through the country side, and history. Here in the Southeast part of a small state in the USA, we had 3" of SNOW last week! Probably from watching your series, it got lost in the atmosphere and ended up in TX instead of the UK. Lucky us!!! Snowmen and slippery roads. Without saying (but I'm doing it anyway) roads, schools, and Sunday School cancelled. Hugs to you, Jazzy, Dean, Borja, Brie, Quincy (who gets the lion share), and Clive, and once again, thank you for the humor and making my Sunday!
Thank you ever so much Barbie. It's lovely to have you joining us once more all the way from Texas!
I am here from Serbia and would love the Proper English Breakfast introduction video!!! If you will film how I would gladly try to make it and learn something new. As an Interior Designer I do enjoy renovation videos, but this channel has quickly become my favorite by far. It is so relaxing to watch. Thank you so much!
