There is something about this song which is infectious. I'm a bitter 55 year old misanthrope but 'Oh Lori' manages to carve a smile into my face. Sublime.
The 70s rock.. Lovely people lovely times❗today is f*#ked..most People are arrogant self obsessed & generally unpleasant creatures!!!.. Technology has changed us not for the better that's 4 sure❗✌️😎
I'm now in my sixties but every time I listen to this song, it will take me back when I was a teenager and I become one again. It's on the repeat in my car and oh boy, I become that teenager again, complete with the butterflies in my stomach!
Sixteen I was and all the girls were in love. I remember my neighbour, friend, classmate had the record and I loved to listen to it. Can't believe it's so long ago. So much has changed. Her mother died, her father has Alzheimer, my parents died. Life was so good back then, we just didn't realise it....
I agree with all that and have said EXACTLY all that how many times! I lived the whole of the seventies the best decade of my life and love this song! I can't tell you what I think of works like that.I feel so nostalgic.I remember it from when I was very young.I was singing it at the time on a tram going to a fairground with my cousin once and my cousin said how lovely it was how I sang it! Especially when I went doo-aa doo-aa!
MERCI MERCI MERCI !
I first heard this song back in 1998 when I was in the Philippines during a Friday Classics run on 96.3 WRock Manila, I'm still loving it now. Thank you Alessi Brothers!
I remember I was 13, looking after my younger brother in the summer holidays. When I got my pocket money I was straight down to Woolworths to buy my 45rpm record. I loved it then and is still one of m all time favourite records I play often. From sharon.
FINALLY FOUND YOU OH LORI! OMG I've been hearing this song on the radio and it is amazing. I always heard Oh Lori but I always thought he was saying Oh Glory instead.. I'm just so happy to have finally found this song!
They make me feel as though I've been born again.Delicious song from my very early childhood which I remember with delight since then! Nothing is even the fingernail of that these days!
The summer of love ! We strolled hand in hand down through the willows. The birds sang in a clear blue sky, the hot August sun burned our backs. We bathed our feet in the slow flowing stream and laughed as we chased each other over warm, grassy banks. We lay close and watched the sun set over the valley. 34 years later, still holding hands, still loving each other, Johnny, here's to the next 34.....
The odd, gift of youtube : I didn't know this was sung by two fellas! I remember the song well, it was massive in 77 in the UK as we ploughed through a lovely summer of fun... but I had never seen them perform (seems I missed them on Top of the Pops!) and thought this was performed by a girl jazz-band. Awesome, well-produced song, brings back terrific memories of innocent years and uncomplicated days, as we stumbled into our teens...
I wish I was born in 70's. Listening to songs like this made me imagine how my past life would be. A dressed classy woman walking in the park ...........
I love your comment! I was 21 in July 1977 and sitting in London's Green Park on a glorious summer's day, passing the time before heading to Switzerland by train after graduating Art School...... when I was totally entranced by a beautiful - "dressed classy woman in the park.........." Quite 'boho' - soft and serene, as she glided by in original Laura Ashley dress, raffia wedge sandals, hand made jewellery, flowers peeping out of the straw bag she carried so elegantly, her flowing hair glistening in the sun and the unmistakable 1970's mandarin scent of Aqua Manda on her warm skin...... How I would have liked to have spoken with her, but in the time I thought about what to say - she was gone and - I had my journey to make. As I left the park 'Oh Lori' was playing in the background........ and now, all these years later, I still remember the "dressed classy woman" and that lovely 'essence of summer' song - together! So, why not be the "dressed classy woman walking in the park" - now, in 2021.........and who knows, you may stay in someone's memory for many years too!
This song is dedicated to Lori..you're a true inspiration and the one that I have been looking for..and finally after 2 yrs..I had the courage to say hello..LOL..stay beautiful and keep that smile...🌞💐🙏
Wow! How have I never heard this song before? I was 14 years old in 1977, a freshman in high school, but have never heard of The Alessi Brothers or this song! My name is Lori so how is it possible that no one, NOT even my husband have heard this song! I'm so glad that I found it! I think I'm going to hint to my husband that I would love for him to sing these lyrics to me now. 😉❤😅
Gosh, I remember rushing down to the local record shop in my lunch hour to buy this. A great, great song and arrangement. Fantastic song, performance and recording. It has such a fresh, breezy sound and the light jazz arrangement is brilliant. I always feel happy when I hear it.
My father knew them through his work. They came over with Lori for Sunday dinner (which means in the afternoon if you're Italian) and I was maybe 17 or 18. They were really nice and Lori was so beautiful and petite. In their earlier days they were in a band called Barnaby Bye . On that album there is a song called Jessie Girl written by Peppy Castro. Forty years later, it still warms my heart and makes me cry --such a beautiful yet upbeat song paying tribute to an elderly woman in the neighborhood. Whoever's reading this, please type in Barnaby Bye and then Jessie Girl. Gotta listen to this song.
This is just a pretty summer song. It conjures up that 1977 summer for me. It is so young! You can't replicate it in your life ever again. You must just grab it.
Oh Lori! I noticed one thing I LIVE for songs like this! If it were the last song I ever heard I wouldn't have enough of it! A song I have known for well over 50 years! They make me feel as though I've been born again! Dooo-Aaaaah!
I love the 70’s every time I hear this song I stop what I’m doing and listen to this song and I’m on my 60’s now and 2023 and I’m still listening to this song ❤
Reminds me of when me an 2 mates were caught trying to climb over the local soft drinks factory fence and were caught and got a bollocking from the police,it was 1977 i was 13, funny thing is when i left school i went to work at the factory. this always takes me back to that. Great song.
I can't tell you what I think of works like that.I feel so nostalgic.I remember it from when I was very young.I was singing it at the time on a tram going to a fairground with my cousin once and my cousin said how lovely it was how I sang it! Especially when I went doo-aa doo-aa!
I remember this from when I was about 3 or 4 around 1970-1971. All I can say is we didn't deserve blessings like The Alessi Brothers. They make me feel as though I've been born again.
. . . Released in '77 - summer of , or a summer hit at least . Great songwriting , arranging and performance of . I was hitching back the 300 miles to the far north of England , after seeing the great Neil Diamond at an open - air concert at Woburn Abbey - the most exquisite setting , concert , weather ... and all - around ' m a g I c ' in every possible way . Got a lift ( one of about six or seven ) from a very attractive woman . I'd like to stay in love with you All summer and after fall I'll keep you warm through the winter Because I've noticed one thing This ain't no summer fling I'd like to ride my bicycle with you On the handlebars You'd laugh and run away And I'd chase you through the meadow Without you I'd die Let's never say goodbye Oh Lori You bring the spring The summer, fall Ooh and winter By the season Oh Lori (oh Lori) You make me feel as though I've been born again, born again You danced for me in your bare feet That mellow afternoon When we made love to each other And I'm loving you That's all I want to do Oh Lori You bring the spring The summer, fall Ooh and winter By the season Oh Lori (oh Lori) You make me feel as though I've been born again, born again
the first time I ever heard this was when it was used in an advert for Lenor back in 1994. When listening to it, women in halter neck dresses sipping champagne springs to mind...it's the musical equivalent of Galaxy chocolate, just melts in the ear.
Remember listening to this whilst doing my first summer job on the farm, classic, , a TY50M, independence, warm beer and a itchy back, it never got much better than that... :)
And there was pretty extreme racial discrimination. Music just happens to be a pretty positive hallmark of that time... I think; I wasn't born around that time either XD
What a time to be a teenager in the 70s a wonderful time just makes me sad for a time when I had no cares in the world and the world was a happier place 😍
Heard this song the other day for the first time in 20 years or more. Brings back memories of youthful scorching summers! Love it. Off to listen to some Godsmack now.
So so much love this song... one of m very fave makes me feel warm all over and reminds me of much better times. 🙏🏾❤️ pray those times will return. Keep safe.
I was about 10 years old when oh lori was played on the radio constantly in 77 and i always thought it was a woman who was singing to my young impressionable ears. But what a cool mellow tune. Still sounds great in 2021.
What happened to real radio shows with real dj's? 1960s and 1970s was the best time for radio. Even the AM pocket radio had to be taken everywhere in those days.
This song touches me in a way I can’t explain it takes me Back to the 70’s when I was a teenager early 20’s and describes a Girl i always wanted but never had
There is something about this song which is infectious. I'm a bitter 55 year old misanthrope but 'Oh Lori' manages to carve a smile into my face.
Sublime.
If this song can make you smile you are not that bitter. I bet you are a really nice guy. I adore this song.
Me too I agree.
Same.. and a total misogynist.

Well I hope everything turned out well for you in your adulthood ❤️✌️
Not even close
Really hope that you found the healing that you need. Be safe and be good ❤️❤️
This reminds me of happier times, when I was a child with no cares in the world and summer seemed to last forever 😊
Same here.
Amen to that, I was an 18yr old squaddie in the summer of 76', the best summer ever. This song takes me back there, happy days indeed
100% I don't know what went wrong?...🤔🙂👍🏻

I'm now in my sixties but every time I listen to this song, it will take me back when I was a teenager and I become one again. It's on the repeat
in my car and oh boy, I become that teenager again, complete with
the butterflies in my stomach!
How wonderful that you can hold on to that feeling.
Agreed, not really a care in the world, meet friends and cycle or especially skateboard.😀
Thay don't make music like this no more. Heaven. Loved the 70s
To any aspiring writers of summer love songs, this is a master class ❤

Same! After hearing a few jazz chords, it immediately caught my attention.
When I was a kid I used to sing 🎶 oh aunt Lori and my older siblings used to chuckle and I never knew why until months later 😂
They make me feel as though I've been born again.Delicious song from my very early childhood which I remember with delight since then! Nothing is even the fingernail of that these days!
What is is about this lovely song that keeps bringing me back to youtube time and time again' The harmonies are so cool and jazzy.
It still sounds good , the harmonies, a touch of jazz, youth, innocence.
Great feel.

Woohoo! I'm 24 and love the 70s too!
I'd like to stay in love with you
All summer and after fall
I'll keep you warm through the winter
Because I've noticed one thing
This ain't no summer fling
I'd like to ride my bicycle with you
On the handlebars
You'd laugh and run away
And I'd chase you through the meadow
Without you I'd die
Let's never say goodbye
Oh Lori
You bring the spring
The summer, fall
Ooh and winter
By the season
Oh Lori (oh Lori)
You make me feel as though
I've been born again, born again
You danced for me in your bare feet
That mellow afternoon
When we made love to each other
And I'm loving you
That's all I want to do
Oh Lori
You bring the spring
The summer, fall
Ooh and winter
By the season
Oh Lori (oh Lori)
You make me feel as though
I've been born again, born again

Vietnam War... You're forgetting about the Vietnam war and the political unrest that came along with it.
Olivia D everybody was getting high
And there was pretty extreme racial discrimination. Music just happens to be a pretty positive hallmark of that time... I think; I wasn't born around that time either XD
Those harmonies !, after all these years still love this song,, timeless music
I was born in 61 and moved all over the states and never heard this song. My brothers would have joked me all the time so it’s a good thing.
