I was so surprised to see you use A Wrinkle In Time because that's one of my favorite books and I re-read it last year and loved it so much more. I hope you do this again and include Dumbledore (because he's my favorite character of all-time, not just of HP) and Snape ;) because I think whatever you recommend for him will be hilarious.
If you like Harry best read the Septamus Heap series, also about a young boy born to a world of magic who taken away from it till 10 years old in his case and then once returned learns over time he has a destiny to save everyone.

I know this was probably just a little mistake but I just thought I'd let you (and anyone else) know that what they do is actually called tessering and has a lot to do with tesseracts which are a kind of four dimensional hypercube with 16 corners. Ahahaha, love the Jack Kerouac reference, it totally cracked me up! Lbr, the only difference between reading OTR and Dementors is that it takes Kerouac 200+ pages to emotionally drain you and a Dementor gets the job done in seconds ;) And I love the comparison between the Mauraders and the Raven Boys, I can definitely see that!

Perhaps if you like Harry you would like Half Bad by Sally Green (and the rest of that trilogy) and its main character Nathan. Harry has to deal with loss throughout the books, as does Nathan. Both characters are put in difficult circumstances originally through events that they couldn't control. Both would like to think they can do it alone but have amazing friends who don't let them.
I seriously considered using that one! There are definitely comparisons to be drawn between Nathan and Harry, not to mention the fact that they are both magical in some way.
I was thinking if Harry was your favorite character then you might enjoy The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss because the main character Kvothe reminds me a bit of Harry in that they are both these sort of witty, sassy characters but they also have a childish quality to them.
I'm not sure if you have read I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak, but I see a lot of similarities between Neville and the main character. They re both undervalued and end up saving the day.

I feel that there is a difference between liking a character and approving of them. I personally am often drawn to controversial and 'bad' characters because they seem more real to me. Real people don't always make the right choices, they don't always act out of goodwill, they don't always have the best intentions in mind. Often these characters undergo significant development - or cause development of other characters. So I don't think there is anything wrong with liking characters like malfoys, snape, etc., even if your interpretation of them does not paint them in the best colors. A weak, scared, evil character can still be brilliantly written and given clear motivation. Liking them does not mean you agree with their actions, it means they are believable and, well, real. Anyway, great video, I hope you'll do more of these! Also you really intrigued me with Not your sidekick, I think I'll give it a go.

Harry's my favorite character and i feel like with Harry you should do cinder or the cinder chronicals in general just because harry and cinder are a lot alike in the sense that they've had to work as slaves basically their whole lives and they find there's more to themselves and they have to become a leader and take down the villan.
I need to read all of these books. What about book recommendations for people who like the Scooby Doo series??... something like a group of friends who come across a mystery?.... The only thing that comes to mind are the Haruhi Suzumiya novels. Also the novel Tick Tock by Dean Koontz gave me the same vibes.

Im not 100% sure about this one - but I think if you like harry you might like the Rogue Agent Series by K.E. Mills. The Main Character Gerald is (due to spoilery circumstances) recruited to be the court wizard of the New Ottosland king - in essence its all about magic and wizardry and a relatively unknown hero who saves the day - I think harry would like this because he always seemed to somewhat dislike that he was so well known, and also that its all about magic which is basically Harry's favorite thing (also at times the book is quite funny)
I was thinking the samething, because even though they are completely different series, they have similar pacing of action, similar amount of violence, as well as dating aspects. Harry and Percy are both smart alecks, standsup for the downtrodden, and not afraid to get a few ouches. Annabeth and Hermione, however...are so much alike, brainy, powerful, strategic, and just a bit scary. I don't see Grover and Ron as being to much alike, except both aren't terribly brave initially, but shows their worth by the end. Chiron (Thankfully.) Is nothing like Dumbledore.

I love 5/6 of these characters: Every Heart a Doorway, Not Your Sidekick, and Queen of the Tearling are on my TBR list, A Wrinkle in Time is one of my favourite childhood reads, and I'm reading This Savage Song right now (started it last night; the writing is amazing and I can't wait to finish it and start on book 2). I actually dislike Ginny (I like her more in the books, but I'd list like 50 book characters I love more before ever thinking of Ginny) and when I read the synopsis for Fangirl, I actually wasn't interested in reading it. So, I'd have to really commend how spot on and accurate these recs are!
CC - I like the new camera location and background. Your older videos have that wall with necklaces hung on the wall with those removable plastic hooks. It looks tacky and middle-school. A nice picture or print would be better. Even the new location has a red heart hanging by a thread in the back ground. Try to avoid ticky-tacky decorations. I know you often review YA books, but you want to avoid the cliche of ponies, castles and tinsel. Your makeup & appearance is much more sophisticated. The background of your videos needs to match.
