I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with the writing in older classics! Lol

Not at all, I'm fighting for my life with Sparknotes open in the background all the time :(

I totally didn’t even realize that Come Out Come Out was by the same author as Beware the Wild.

Love that you'll focus on gothic literature 💜

I read Under the Surface last month because of you! I 1000% agree with you - it took itself way too serious and I would have preferred if it leaned into the camp. But well done for a YA novel!

Yesss either commit to being a meaningful commentary all the way or leave me to enjoy the silly catacomb ghosts in peace lol.

I listened to Hula & I thought it was really good too! I had been looking for books based in Hawaiian islands & when I saw you were reading this book I decided to read it & it was just what I was looking for & showed me a complete different way of looking at these islands & everyone who lives there!

Yes! It really put that history out in a really impactful way. I'm glad you liked it too!

Henry James' writing was not for me. I loved seeing how elements of his stories came together in Haunting of Bly Manor but that's about it. :D Chlorine was so wild. I am glad you liked it.

Yeah I think the story is best enjoyed as a movie or tv show where we don't have to read all that haha.
