Incredible drone footage of Anak Krakatau volcano in Indonesia after the huge collapse, major eruption and tsunami. Shot on 10th and 11th January 2019. This is some of the first detailed footage of the volcano after the traumatic events in later December.
As an indonesian, this is the kind of footage that I hope was released by our government or our vulano disaster agency. Nevertheless, thanks for your effort and thanks for the video James👍👍
Thank you - I hope the footage can be useful for the govt and disaster agencies.
Hi James! Do you or anyone you know have the footage of this event and do you know why the water turned red is it iron ore?
@@EarthUncutTV we hope so...

What I don't understand is, how is it this is the first I heard about this? I saw no news reports of it, neither the complete collapse of Anak Krakatau, or the tragic tsunami afterwards . Not on RUclips either, where I was actively searching for material about Krakatau since last fall (although my internet and cable was out all through december to january..
Well, I know now.. My prayers for all that were affected by the tsunami.. And also, it appears we, again, have no Mt. Krakatau! For now, anyways ...
The discoloration of the water and also Krakatau itself is otherworldly
I found it amazing to see and film
Probably poison and broiled middle earthers, maybe?
Why does the shore look like that rust color??? Amazing footage 🙌

Dt0x75 interesting. Thanks!
I am 62. I did not even dream to see such perfect images... I slept with the book of Haroun Tazieff under my pillow in my childhood! Good job!
Yeah ... remember getting our first wiff of Krakatoa? As history or geology or science or through a documentary? This is soooo awesome being able to look at it now, here. Wow!
Excellent footage. Boy, would it be interesting to explore what's left of the island by foot and live to talk about it. I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Hi! I'm from Indonesia. I really appriciate your drone footage on Anak Krakatau and I like it. Keep up the good work! Warm regards from Indonesia😊❤
Thanks so much for kind comment!!
I've been waiting for something like this. thanks
Me too! I could see it was something major. Now it's clear.
I feel like I’ve been waiting to see these images forever. And they do not disappoint! Absolutely amazing!!!
Thanks - the changes really are crazy
What a spectacular transformation from the Volcanic Peak that used to be there!!!
This footage is incredible! Every frame is like an abstract painting
Been waiting to see this. Well done and thank you!
Mother Nature is just so beautiful! Thanks for the drone shots! This is incredible, prayers and thoughts are for Indonesia 🇮🇩❤️❤️
Amazing footage. I visited Anak Krakatau in 2010, and stayed on the beach on Rakata Island. I'm stunned by the change to Anak Krakatau. Thanks again.
Thanks Ken! Sadly no camping there for a long time. The tsunami damage is shocking and Rakata coastline unrecognizable
I appreciate your work and time in our country. 🙌🏾
Thanks so much!
It's magnificent.. Throughout the time, there is still no footage that records as close as you've done.. Great job dude, thx for sharing.
Thanks for watching and your interest!
Spectacular footage! So sharp, makes me wanna jump into the screen to feel it personally
Haha thanks!
We were on Anak Krakatau November 24, 2017. It was a very different volcano that day. Our guide took us within a few hundred feet of the summit, but told us going closer was not safe. It's hard to believe this is the same island! Thanks for the video.
Glad you got to visit safely before these major events took place
Man, this is just unreal. Thanks for sharing.
Thank -you for the visual update on Anak Krakatau!! It is very important to keep monitoring this volcano. It had been erupting for months before the recent tsunami occurred.
From 334 meters, into 111 meters. Wow. It is massive eruption.
One of those videos you just never tire of watching - thanks for sharing it. Eerily similar eruption to Mt St Helens
Thanks for watching Bob!
James, it's hard to convey the amazement I feel by seeing this *epic* footage. Thanks for sharing this beauty. WOW!
Thanks so much Jose - really appreciate it. Hope you’re well my friend!
Thanks for the Video!!! Good Job!
Amazing ! Realy thank you for these fabulous images !!!!
Thank you for the awesome documentation
Excellent video James. Thanks for helping us visualize the current state of Anak Krakatau and the tsunami effects on nearby islands.
Many thanks Stan! my own curiosity and interest got the better of me hence I traveled down there to see what's going on.
What a vast, stark and awesomely beautiful place this has become. All this happening in the midst of the remnants that remain of the 1883 eruption. Thank you for sharing this.
You’re welcome Cynthia - indeed a beautiful place
The angry teenager now become a baby...
Undone all that hard work!
It's like the earth farded and sharded. Hopefully this eruption relieved some pressure. I love seeing the earth geologically active, but I am also saddened at the loss of life.
problem with that line of thought, the elevator shaft size of the vent, is now about a half mile wide, and insulated from the sea water.
The unruly teen will be back!!
Rizky Widodo And I hope, he's not growing anymore
Thankyou for helping us to taking this video
Thanks james and @earthuncuttv for this video. After eruption and tsunami happens makes us to be more pretend and aware with this volcano
Thank you for your posting.
Anak Krakatoa look so quite and slow down but look at back history before, it just a warning. Anak Krakatoa just resting awhile and build itself to make other mega eruption just like Krakatoa in 1883.
is like this volcano cannot be near. Sadly I live near which is Singapore and if it explode. Everyone on the island would be deaf
Don't forget that the 1883 eruption was the second explosion. There was an even more powerful explosion, c.1400 to 1500 and that lead to the eventual creation of the 1883 volcano within the center of the "Ancient Krakatoa" caldera. This was also the second time Anak Krakatoa's cone collapsed, so this volcano will also likely build another cone, much like what Mt. St. Helens is doing now with its large lava dome.
thank you for making this video, I really appreciate . Terimakasih !
You’re welcome, glad you found it interesting!
@@EarthUncutTV I found this video in local news tv 1hour ago
Thank you for sharing this with us. What an incridible video you have there.
Thank you!
Thanks for going there and seeing its current state. I really wanted to know what it looks like now in great detail. This drone footage is mesmerising!
Thanks for watching and glad you found the footage interesting.
Great job, really good steady clear shots!
Thanks Geoff
I wasn't sure this was Anak Krakatau it changed so much.
That's impressive how the volcano lose his "head" and how the tsunami touched the neighbor islands. And bravo for the quality of this 4K video.
If only we could have some of the explosion !
Yeah I was hoping for some small eruptions, not this time!
The weather itself was really bad during the main eruption
Very impressive footage. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Excellent work, so interesting to see the changes, effects on the sea and surrounding islands
Thanks Rob
Keren banget, terimakasih sudah mendokumentasikan ini.
In absolute awe of your video, thank you. Set foot on Anak Krakatau in 2002. Unrecognisable now. Is the other island Kecil Krakatau? As it's directly in line to Anyer resort area it would have buffered somewhat. Unfortunately at such close distance & speed of tsunami's any early warning may not be effective. Heading to Lake Toba again soon, one of my fav places on the planet, mesmerising relaxing on an island in a lake in the caldera of a supervolcano...
That sounds like a great trip to Toba! Not sure we will get all the way to Sumatra to see it, but we sure loved the volcanoes of Java!
The other island is Rakata. :) It used to be known as "The eye of krakatau" as post the major eruption of Krakatau the original, there was a perfect cross section through the heart of the volcano that made it look like an eye.
.
excellent documentaion !!!!
Amazing, not only the whole new look of the volcano, but also the damage of the tsunami to the coastline of Pulau Krakatau, Pulau Krakatau Kitjil & Pulau Sertung or one of those, I expect they al look the same now. I think if those islands where not there the tsunami would have had a even higher death toll.
Those islands got slammed so hard, incredible damage to the coastlines.
It will be amazing in the future. Like we did by taking samples of soil, seeing the line of white grey matter with dark soil around it, we could see evidence of 1883 tsunami from Krakatau.
But this time, they will be able to see this new layer along with all the video footage & technical data & measurements, in further study of Krakatoa. This volcano has come full circle, study wise.
We got video of Anak Krakatoa being born in 1927. And now of a major stage of development is on film.
The information coming from all this data is gonna be AMAZING for future generations who study Anak Krakatoa!
Amazing footage. Thank you! Do we have an estimate for wave height on those islands?
That was beautiful... thanks.
Wonderful vistas of Anak Krakatau and effects of the eruption and tsunami, great job! 👍
Drone foorage is extremely exciting for seniors to see. Wonderful photography, enlightening, thank you and best wishes.
Thanks for watching!
Wow thanksyouuuu James ✋from Indonesia
Blew itself to bits, amazing.
Thanks for the video. Massive changes to Anak Krakatau from before the eruption. From this video it is easy to understand what caused the tsunami. I never expected the changes to be this dramatic.
thankyou for the video
Great video! Well done!
Love it!!! Great video!!
Thank you!!
great video! you did awesome job
Thanks Irul!
Awesome... Super awe footage...
¡¡Wow, increíble toma, es impresionante e imponente!!
Totally amazed by the HD content
Such an amazing creation
Wow. I've seen video and pics of it prior to the eruption, but most of the footage after was obscured by all the smoke and ash. It looks like a whole different island.
Yes. Incredible video!
Excellent footage, breaktaking drone shots.
Many thanks!
That iron deposit view i've seen this before while on plane, was around the islands off brunei and western malaysia..eye catching wonders. That collapsed caldera, we can actually make out the size of the crater now..its soo shalow covered with sea water.. the builtup below is sure to come soon..we know historically how active this volcano can be.
Amazing vídeo 👊🏻
Fantastic views!!
Thanks for the video..good job
Cheers!
Awesome video.
Amazing thank you 🙏
Wow such an incredible shot you have.
Thanks Denny
Welcome to Indonesia ❤️
Thank you - I always love visiting Indonesia
what a blast, its first i see an eruption result like this...
WOW what an incredible change, it's a completely different volcano , about 80 years it will take the anak krakatau to build another cone of the same height, depending on the degree of activity it has.
It basically an 1883 eruption happened again, but in smaller scale. Mind blowing
nandofigueira2005, i wondered how big is Krakatau Eruption in 1883. If this Eruption is big enough, how about 1883. It will be the worst year in your life. And, have a great day.
It's astounding what nature can do.
Owh god, thank you so much for the video,
Magnifique document très impressionnant ! Bravo.
thank you
Terimakasih James kau sudah memberi sedikit gambaran mengenai keadaan gunung anak Krakatau
Amazing footage.
Thanks for video..
Truly amazing video and footages. Impressive how technology let us record places and moments extremely hazardous for (almost) any living creature. Evidence of devastation and very high energy event. Wonder how 'dad' Krakatau had to be few centuries ago.
Thanks Luis - the drone was such a valuable tool, I'll try not to crash it next time!
Awesome job James, we all really appreciate your work, helping all of us amateurs to see clearly all the changes in detail, Thanks Mate.
Cheers Darren, appreciate the support and kind words as always!
Amzing, thanks for sharing
Cheers!
Frighteningly beautiful
Such amazing 👍👍
cool...thanks for ur video....👍👍
WOW. From it's powerful eruption in 1883 to it's big eruption to date, Krakatau now has a long ways to go to rebuild itself
remarkable photography
This looks very primordial. At list in the beginning.

Great footage. Thanks for sharing this amazing video. I hope you can docomented another volcano in Indonesia, like Mount Agung in Bali, Sinabung in Sumatra and many others.
Visited Anak Krakatau, Sinabung, Paluweh and Merapi so far :)
@@EarthUncutTV Cool. Try another active volcano in another island. I recommended you to visit Gamalama in Ternate Island. Thats would be awsome.
