      What I don't understand is, how is it this is the first I heard about this? I saw no news reports of it, neither the complete collapse of Anak Krakatau, or the tragic tsunami afterwards . Not on RUclips either, where I was actively searching for material about Krakatau since last fall (although my internet and cable was out all through december to january..
      Well, I know now.. My prayers for all that were affected by the tsunami.. And also, it appears we, again, have no Mt. Krakatau! For now, anyways ...

      is like this volcano cannot be near. Sadly I live near which is Singapore and if it explode. Everyone on the island would be deaf

    • @rwboa22
      @rwboa22 3 года назад +1

      Don't forget that the 1883 eruption was the second explosion. There was an even more powerful explosion, c.1400 to 1500 and that lead to the eventual creation of the 1883 volcano within the center of the "Ancient Krakatoa" caldera. This was also the second time Anak Krakatoa's cone collapsed, so this volcano will also likely build another cone, much like what Mt. St. Helens is doing now with its large lava dome.

    In absolute awe of your video, thank you. Set foot on Anak Krakatau in 2002. Unrecognisable now. Is the other island Kecil Krakatau? As it's directly in line to Anyer resort area it would have buffered somewhat. Unfortunately at such close distance & speed of tsunami's any early warning may not be effective. Heading to Lake Toba again soon, one of my fav places on the planet, mesmerising relaxing on an island in a lake in the caldera of a supervolcano...

      It will be amazing in the future. Like we did by taking samples of soil, seeing the line of white grey matter with dark soil around it, we could see evidence of 1883 tsunami from Krakatau.
      But this time, they will be able to see this new layer along with all the video footage & technical data & measurements, in further study of Krakatoa. This volcano has come full circle, study wise.
      We got video of Anak Krakatoa being born in 1927. And now of a major stage of development is on film.
      The information coming from all this data is gonna be AMAZING for future generations who study Anak Krakatoa!
