- Researchers captured dramatic footage of a steady stream of lava pouring from the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii. The heat of the lava as it flowed into the sea triggered explosions, which threw debris back onto the top of the cliff.

I didn't realize how big that flow is until seeing the boat next to it. Those people are taking a chance.
Wouldn't stay in that boat for all the money in the world. If the engine fails, guess what.
Plus I wouldn't want to inhale all the toxic gases it produces.
yeah it was a risky move

Chris Hristov Boats like that usually have two engines for speed and redundancy. They also have oars and a radio to get help. The other boat can also toss a line for towing.
Can you imagine how hot and energetic it has to be to flow like that, just think thats MOLTEN STONE flowing like water its like someone stabbed the earth and its bleeding out
There is a science to the composition of it. I believe its very low on silica so its very runny.

When your cobblestone generator breaks and spills to the ocean:
The amount of thermal energy behind this scene is mind boggling. It's like a foundry pot, dumping molten steel like a river for hours and hours and hours.
So hot it decomposes water into hydrogen and oxygen atoms, which creates the laze clouds.

The ongoing eruption has displaced thousands of people, with many forced to evacuate their homes. Despite the dangers, some residents have chosen to stay, citing a strong attachment to their land and community. The long-term impact of the eruption on the island's ecosystem and infrastructure remains uncertain.
Overall, the Kilauea volcano's eruption has been a dramatic and ongoing event, with significant consequences for the environment, local communities, and global interest. 😢😢😢

Probably one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. Just a big island of rock with molten rock spewing out of the side of it like a waterfall.
@Banned4life 1488 funny thing buddy, I actually just did the other day. And once before that. Also really cool.
It would have been fantastic to see what is happening just below the surface of water.
It's amazing how smooth looking it is. I always picture it as being kind of clumpy

That’s awesome! Did you go specifically to see flowing lava or for other reasons? After watching a couple of these videos I want to add seeing lava to my bucket list.
@@preston8083 No, no lava flows when I was there in 2/20. I doubt my wife would have gone if there was, lol. However, there was a whole lot of sulfur smelling steam venting up through crevices in the ground around the volcano, though, which was pretty awesome in itself. That along with the lava rock that flowed for miles right to the Pacific, made it all so other worldly. Hope you get a chance to experience that.

1000° Lava vs Water?
Luckytime lustig
salt water
Water has a high heat capacity which will cool the lava down rather quickly. But that's a lot of lava. It's like the unstoppable force against the immovable object.
Is that a question? What do you want to know? The lava will quickly turn to rock in the ocean, if that's what you're wondering.
It makes you realize how much earth there is to go around for it to flow like that for days
How long did it take to stop?
Will it become a obsidian?
Looks like the earth is bleeding.
Baby
Beautiful! Absolutely AWESOME.
The liquid lava can be turned in to stone wool, just build a stone wool plant next to the flow and divert some of the lava straight in to the plant for processing.
