A useful tip when preparing those small clams. In Jamaica we called them cockles. After you catch them, keep them in a container of water for a couple of hours or a day if necessary. What will happen is they will spit out a lot of sand that they have been storing, that way you will have a more cleaner soup with less or no sand in it.
Please oh please do another one. Maybe a week or a month perhaps. The longer the journey the more i love watching it omg I didn’t know how much i love watching this type of survival thing😍
I think slowly adding time to your previous experience is probably the safest method on any return adventure. I'd say go a full week next time, and that works out for you, tack on more day for the next trip. You don't want to throw yourself into a situation where it's TRULY a do-or-die situation until you're 100% it's not going to be a completely miserable experience. Health and Safety always first.
@BUSHCRAFTTOOLS Try to get a satellite phone if you are planning for a long stay because anything can happen, and it is always a good thing to have safety net like a Satphone
I think he would eventually hit the 'coconut limit' where he would get diarrhea. Unless he figures out a farm of stilling bottles. Which itself maybe dangerous in the long run, drinking from dirty bottles which were sitting on the beach for god know how long ?
This was so awesome, thanks Dustin! As for the next adventure, id suggest 10 days for 240 hours, as 3+ weeks is tough for some people who have to take care of pets and stuff back home too, not to mention after 10 days it might get lonely. Loving these adventures, keep it up, cheers mate!
I dunno how this doesn't have millions of views. Watched and enjoyed every minute of both episodes. You show all the little details and all the cool stuff you see. Would love to see you do 2 weeks or a month doing something like this. Earned a new sub pal.
For future adventures in places with coconut trees, learn to weave sections of the leaves to create both thatch and a sleeping pad. You can also weave platters, etc. Fresh leaves are much better than dead ones.

I always say this to survival channels, but do take a failure pack with you. Just in case you can't do it for some reason, you can use that pack and save yourself. Pack food, water and medicine in there and take one of those gps things that allows rescuers to know where you are if things go bad. Good luck with more videos.
Nice vid, I thoroughly enjoyed it though I suggest next time instead of picking off coconuts using long sticks you could easily make steps to the coconut tree itself using your big knife. It will be safer for you since you wouldn't have to worry about falling coconuts and less energy to get them.
Use sticks for spoon. Find a clam shell for scraping coconut n for spoon.. hibiscus tree is a good source of line. Wait until low tide n go fishing in sand. Banana stem can make water all the time.
I feel like I should have known this, but I have to say, it is very eye-opening to see how much plastic there is on that one beach. It's something that even modern survival stories rarely seem to include - the one I think of the most is the video game Raft which is literally a post-apocalyptic story. Thanks for sharing - will check out the rest of the channel!
Week at least! Next time bring some spices and herbs to flavor your curry! No one would dock you for that. Very interesting and educational video. You're a true outdoorsman and survivalist. Your positive attitude is the best thing about your channel. Cheers mate!
Well done, this was a superb exercise in improvisation. I think maybe 10 days but allowing yourself a certain amount of kit (such as a downed airman might have, for example) would be an interesting experiment. And I know you only said it for the camera, but please don't drink the mystery Baileys... 😁
Loved this series Dustin. I think you did an excellent job of cooking up the fish and pippies (clams), the broth would have been very nourishing. I would have added a couple of crabs too. Can’t wait to see more videos 💜💜🇦🇺
Hey Dustin! Great and entertaining videos always! You remind me of me. . .long ago! Comanche trick!. . .folded green bark can make a container to heat water, soup etc. Coconuts should work fine after you scrape out most of the coconut flesh. The trick is to never let the flames rise above the top of the container. As long as it is full of water/liquid. . .it will not burn. The outside will get burned but the inside will not! I am a West Texas guy and I remember my grandad teaching me this trick as a kid. . .I have used it many times when out in the scrub. I remember one of my grandads friends shaking his head in amazement asking why the bark container didn't burn! My grandad was a caution. . .he knew more about "roughing it" than any man I have ever known. Long before the term "bush crafting" was ever coined. Happy Trails!
The tree where coco stands is a tree that gives almond shaped fruits. The thin outer flash is edible when ripe, but it's quite tart. The dry ones you can smash with a piece of rock. The small nut inside is delicious
Wow so very interesting. No moaning, no griping just getting on with what you are faced with. Huge respect and PLEASE do another one. But I would feel better if you had an emergency number you can call ... just in case!

Nice vid, I thoroughly enjoyed it though I suggest next time instead of picking off coconuts using long sticks you could easily make steps to the coconut tree itself using your big knife. It will be safer for you since you wouldn't have to worry about falling coconuts and less energy to get them.
One week! I was fascinated through both episodes,
Use sticks for spoon. Find a clam shell for scraping coconut n for spoon.. hibiscus tree is a good source of line. Wait until low tide n go fishing in sand. Banana stem can make water all the time.
Really enjoyed this series, subscribed
I feel like I should have known this, but I have to say, it is very eye-opening to see how much plastic there is on that one beach. It's something that even modern survival stories rarely seem to include - the one I think of the most is the video game Raft which is literally a post-apocalyptic story.
Thanks for sharing - will check out the rest of the channel!
Week at least! Next time bring some spices and herbs to flavor your curry! No one would dock you for that. Very interesting and educational video. You're a true outdoorsman and survivalist. Your positive attitude is the best thing about your channel. Cheers mate!
Such a beautiful island, just amazing . Do 2 months Luv from UK 🇬🇧
Omg Yes!!! Do a full week would love to see you going more inland to look around aswell... awesome video dude 🤜🤛
Well done, this was a superb exercise in improvisation. I think maybe 10 days but allowing yourself a certain amount of kit (such as a downed airman might have, for example) would be an interesting experiment. And I know you only said it for the camera, but please don't drink the mystery Baileys... 😁
That baileys 👍👍😁
@@BUSHCRAFTTOOLS 🤣🤣
Best video we have watched in ages, we were sorry to see it end! We would love to see you do a week next time👍
Loved this series Dustin.
Happy Trails!
wicked stuff! really cool, nicely put together!
The tree where coco stands is a tree that gives almond shaped fruits. The thin outer flash is edible when ripe, but it's quite tart. The dry ones you can smash with a piece of rock. The small nut inside is delicious
First time watching! Loved the video…I’ll be nice and say a full week! 😂 Anyway you have a new subscriber ❤️
Wow so very interesting. No moaning, no griping just getting on with what you are faced with. Huge respect and PLEASE do another one.
But I would feel better if you had an emergency number you can call ... just in case!
I say 7 days survival ...
But this time bring a couple of fish hooks and build a betrer shelter, always elevated and more protection around it. Other wise thank you for sharing your adventure with us.. Keep safe and stay safe...
