  • Unlike traditional keying methods that use an alpha channel to control the transparency of an image, additive keying works by adding the color information from the source layer to the destination layer. This can help to preserve fine details, such as hair or smoke, that might be lost when using an alpha process.

    Do you have a video where you finish the refinement to the end showing the nodes clearly? I'm following this method but get stuck at the keymix and the premultiplying section. That would be very helpful.

    Brilliant, but How you manage the dark areas on the butterflies, because when you multiply you are multiplying also the values on the butterflies, so there is a problem with blacks...

      Hi Ilaria Baldini, its really apt question. in this video my primary target was to just talk about concept of divide & multiply, obviously refinement is next step. to your query my answer is "manipulating contrast ratio ( in this case its butterfly) always helpful but this should be done selectively (using masking)"

    And also, in the first case , you are applying a saturation node with the value of 0, so you are removing rgb and not luma, but how you dial, after, with the restoring of the hair-details- colours?

    • @auxiliarynatter
      @auxiliarynatter  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Ilaria Baldini, i missed to mention that adjust(lower) saturation as per need ( making zero is not rule) also in case of green screen or blue screen doing proper despill before divide operation to both plate & Clean Plate exactly the same way gives the proper intended color.
      Thanks a lot to bringing this into attention. much appreciated. 🍻
      Thank you

    awesome as always. i used this method but i didn't understand why you cleaned hair with paint node why it is necessary in chroma and live action plate also?

      @@Naruto_uzumaki7979 hi Narutouzumaki, i said "i made clean plate with plate information, i didn't do any cloning" means i have taken available information from different frame which area is free from hair and made a clean plate, i have not used any paint node in above showed both example.
      even
      i would like to highlight please make clean plate using available plate information .
      i hope it's helpful. thanks
