  • In this video number {1103B} Silicone Coating, Conformal Coating removal. I explained how to remove silicon conformal coating from LG6870EC9025C-0 lg washing machine circuit board
    i am sorry, i forgot to mention in video
    After getting part number, it is important to remove component and clean PCB tracks using soapy water and then cleaning with alcohol or any cleaning solvent.
    note: if we remove component before removing paint, somtimes the heat causes to fade the printing on the PCB. then application of paint remover erases the remaining marking as well.
    it is best to remove paint and then remove component and clean the component and PCB area

    What about using Hot Air Gun at 200C ?

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  5 месяцев назад +3

      yes
      hot air at 200 - 300C is also good, but it produces some bad smell, i don't like that

      @@HaseebElectronics In the past I opened epoxy blocks containing parts using hot air. Yes it's a bad smell but I did it outside. It's quicker than using flame. The very hard epoxy will break off in small pieces easily. I don't think that small flame will do anything for thick solid epoxy.

    Hello Ashraf Sb..salamah
    Its really good trick but I had created some damages on tracks while components generally stops my tool. I used temp controlled airgun to get Silocon soft. I noticed silicons have variations in formulation n thickness that need higher or lower temperatures. The best I did was I heated the PCB on non Si side with temp of 200 deg c for 2 min n later about 300 deg c on Si side while keeping the comp side over 150 deg c. I used Temp monitoring gun to have reasonable temp on both side. The outcome was I was able to peel bigger pieces of Si rather than dust or granule.
    One must keep in mind the fire safety as I had fire alarms in shop location due to high level of infrared radiation...lol

    using plastic tools for removing coating is preferred, as those are unlikely to damage the board.

    It might be worth taking hi resolution close-up picture of the board right through coating as it still intact and transparent. It might help in case some components get damaged or dislocated during coating removal.

    SIr, I am always watching your videos and I really like them as they are just like university classes and very informative. Pl make some video on ATX power supply using SDC 606p IC on hot side and SDC 2921 on cold side. I am troubleshooting it for no 5V SB and final power output. There is no shorting at both the sides.

      Sí, pistola de aire caliente, secador de pelo, quema de gotas de gasolina o alcohol son las mismas técnicas para retirar este revestimiento rígido a base de silicona.

    This coating already breaks the same way i see you doing after the "heating with alcohol" because it is silicone base. There is no need for that.
    Hope you are not starting to make fake videos to get dumb people attention.
    Keep your videos professional, you are already doing an awesome work.

      @@tvbox8478 but there is no need to heat it up. This easily breaks.

      @FixDaily this coating is very hard, until we heat with hot air gun, or hair dryer or siprit lamp or heatup using gasoline drops / alcohol
      it never allows to enter knife or sharp screw driver or scrapper.
      i don't attempt to make fake or misleading. i just share whatever i know or whatever i have practical. i never copy other's ideas. anyone can oppose to my opinion / thoughts / practical / words
      please accept my best regards

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  5 месяцев назад +1

      if that is hard material then it is near to impossible, because that is epoxy based filling.
      if that is some soft material then it is rubber sealant, that can be removed by slow heating and scratching carefully

    Make a video on how to remove IGBT Module Gel..

    • @FixDaily
      @FixDaily 5 месяцев назад +1

      you need to replace the IGBT module. If you remove the gel, you will end up breaking the bound wires. Even if you can remove the gel, what are you going to do about the IGBT itself? Are you able to solder bound wires or replace the silicone chip? No!.
      You are more likely to replace that module with regular IGBT components than fixing it.

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  5 месяцев назад

      that is epoxy based coating. you need hammering to remove and it will destroy the module
      just for study purpose you can dismentle it, but not for repair purpose
