Agreed on the isolated island life but our bigger concern is how we shuttle all of our lumber and equipment over to the island on a Sea Doo to renovate the place 😂

You need induction compatible cookware and that doesn’t include a lot of stuff you may already have. You can test with a magnet. If it’s doesn’t stick it’s not induction compatible.
OMG I would LOVE to watch Eamon & Bec do a tiny lakeside cabin fixer upper. that would be AMAZING! Imagine if they fixed up a tiny cabin in their style! It would be SO BEAUTIFUL! PLEASE!!! GO FOR IT! Now would certainly be time and market to GO FOR IT!!!!!

You had to leave your van in Morocco, they had to leave their van in Patagonia. You started building a van, they stared renovating a camper. They are building a tiny home, and you might buy one!

Eamon - I looked up that induction error code for ya...."E2 - Supplied voltage to cooktop is too low. This may be caused by reduced voltage being supplied to the house circuit. If connections are correct and the supplied voltage returns to normal, the code will dissappear". There's a ton here on cookware compatibility too....more stuff to test on the shakedown cruise...
@@jodi94501 read up on the specific requirements for the metal bases - and they need to be FLAT - no ridges etc... works great, heats up faster than gas IMO
I am sure you have already figured this out, but just in case you haven’t, with the induction cooktop, you have to have pots and kettles that are rated for the induction technology. The symbol looks like a line in 3 loops
So great to see the Rideau Lakes featured - great video! It was wonderful to get to meet you both while you were visiting Trinity Cove. That’s what we call our little cove because the point of land we are on adjacent to your Aunt and Uncle’s cottage was called Trinity Point by the original family who cottaged here since then early 1900s. How fitting now that I know your first van is called Trinity! See you next year!

Nice! With the induction, it might be beeping because your kettle is to small for that circle thingy, it's not detecting something properly. So maybe a bigger surface would help stop the beeping? Dunno, love the new build!
For the future, personally I want to live in a van and then buy plots of vacant land, and then plop down a shipping container and sheet metal garage on them and convert them to living spaces so I have like little checkpoints to stay in around the country. I don’t if this is a thing in Canada but I always hear to buy land by Bureau of Land Management land.

Those locks look like some of the best we've seen, and so easy to install (if you read the manual) 😂 Would love to see you guys renovate an off grid cabin! Or even build one from scratch!
Heather Mac is that something you can do? We’d be putting in our own windows in the back which we were thinking about getting bars for or something. Not sure about the front ones though. I thought the windshield is made to crack but not break so that you don’t get glass in your face while you’re driving, but the side ones were made to shatter so that you can be rescued if the car rolls or something. Upgrading them to stronger glass might mean that you can be rescued from a wreck... not sure what to do with that one (apart from drive safely).
The window tint stops it from shattering we had a car in our shop the the rear passenger glass was broken but window was still there. Also if you do the nano ceramic tint will cut down on heat getting in
I'm not sure, but I think you can order replacement glass for side windows, from an auto glass professional, that is resistant to breaking, or penetration. You are right that it wouldn't be as easy to escape in an emergency. Interesting to learn that tint and such coatings keeping the tampered glass from shattering...

Everytime i looked at Eamon and Bec, im seeing so much humility, love and peace. It was refreshing, it was as if they have not experienced any downfalls (which I know, they have experienced), but it feels like I am with them all through the journey. I am a cancer patient and I hope someday, in my own little ways, i can travel like you. Only if I have the means.

We have an upper fixed bed in our motorhome but always end up leaving the Lounge area set up as a bed as it’s sooooo comfy to lounge on & saves time setting up at night. Loving the extra security measures too. 👍🏻😍
ᵀʰʳᵉᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵃ ᴷⁱⁿᵈ I had the same thought. I’ve seen quite a few other vanlifers install remove bars that prevent a person from being able to crawl into the van. Others have put windows that are bulletproof. I saw one where the front was screened off from the back so if someone were to get into the van, they couldn’t access the sleeping area. I’d definitely like to see them add more features just because it broke my heart watching Bec cry when they were robbed.

Happy trails! Edit: the beeping of the induction could be it has a hard time sensoring your pot. For example, if you used pans on gas before and want to use them on induction it won't work because on gas the pan warps. Induction needs flat surfaces of pans for the magnets to work

I had noticed the E2 error code also. Yes, induction cooktops require pots that will work with this type of cooktop. I believe the pot has to be stainless steel and if a magnet does not stick to the bottom of the pot, it will not work with an induction cooktop:)

I grew up playing croquet (Michigan). My mom's side of the family played it whenever we had a family gathering. Buy some property and build your own tiny house. The pandemic has made people realize that it is good to have a home base to go to between your travels.
Off the grid cabin , I can see that in between travel times for you two. A fixer upper would be awesome and you can make it your own. Smal wood burning stove for cooking and heating you would be all set winter or summer.
Forgot to say, I can’t decide which van I like more, this one……or Trinity! lol notice how I called it (this one) I think I miss Trinity!! Has there been any updates on how Trin is or when you’ll be able to go back to her?! It seems like everyone who was out of country and is now back in their home country has built a new van and has moved on already. I have such an idea, the world needs a dating/connecting site for single people who want to do van life but would just prefer to have someone to share it with!!!! I mean sure you can do it on your own but I'm sure there are soooo many girls and boys who WOULD LOVE TO LIVE VAN LIFE :D doesnt even need to be romantic, could just be a communal virtual space to discuss ideas and link up the van life movement :D I personally found that finding more van lifers to follow didnt stop me from following the ones I already did so THE MORE THE MERRIER, Variety = Spice etc etc

The Amperage pull of that induction stove top is way too high for that little orange extension cord. You need to get yourself a proper 10g or 8g extension cord to plug into power so you don toverheat things in a bad way. :-) Looks amazing otherwise!

Everytime i looked at Eamon and Bec, im seeing so much humility, love and peace. It was refreshing, it was as if they have not experienced any downfalls (which I know, they have experienced), but it feels like I am with them all through the journey. I am a cancer patient and I hope someday, in my own little ways, i can travel like you. Only if I have the means.

Love to see you guys traveling again!! I have an induction stove and I believe you have to have certain magnetic pots and pans for it to work.
I'd love to see you two doing up that place!! Especially at the moment be very interesting what you would do differently with more space.. could be like your homebase when your not travelling or just move on afterwards.😂 hopefully you don't have to sell anything, to get it!

We have an upper fixed bed in our motorhome but always end up leaving the Lounge area set up as a bed as it’s sooooo comfy to lounge on & saves time setting up at night. Loving the extra security measures too. 👍🏻😍
That security stuff is good considering your last van got broken into.

@@OgressTit exactly. All of those security features are meaningless when those windows are so incredibly easy for a would be thief to break into.
ᵀʰʳᵉᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵃ ᴷⁱⁿᵈ I had the same thought. I’ve seen quite a few other vanlifers install remove bars that prevent a person from being able to crawl into the van. Others have put windows that are bulletproof. I saw one where the front was screened off from the back so if someone were to get into the van, they couldn’t access the sleeping area. I’d definitely like to see them add more features just because it broke my heart watching Bec cry when they were robbed.

Edit: the beeping of the induction could be it has a hard time sensoring your pot. For example, if you used pans on gas before and want to use them on induction it won't work because on gas the pan warps. Induction needs flat surfaces of pans for the magnets to work

I had noticed the E2 error code also. Yes, induction cooktops require pots that will work with this type of cooktop. I believe the pot has to be stainless steel and if a magnet does not stick to the bottom of the pot, it will not work with an induction cooktop:)

I grew up playing croquet (Michigan). My mom's side of the family played it whenever we had a family gathering. Buy some property and build your own tiny house. The pandemic has made people realize that it is good to have a home base to go to between your travels.

Off the grid cabin , I can see that in between travel times for you two. A fixer upper would be awesome and you can make it your own. Smal wood burning stove for cooking and heating you would be all set winter or summer.

I'm SO HAPPY for you guys. I'm one of those " don't like change" peeps , but I LOVE the new van. The "coffee/ tea" cabinets are beautiful. The seats are great , the pillows and bedspread are just lovely. Love the saved space with new shower lay out. It's awesome. And also, I really enjoyed the family time footage. I have such an idea, the world needs a dating/connecting site for single people who want to do van life but would just prefer to have someone to share it with!!!! I mean sure you can do it on your own but I'm sure there are soooo many girls and boys who WOULD LOVE TO LIVE VAN LIFE :D doesnt even need to be romantic, could just be a communal virtual space to discuss ideas and link up the van life movement :D I personally found that finding more van lifers to follow didnt stop me from following the ones I already did so THE MORE THE MERRIER, Variety = Spice etc etc
Would absolutely love to see a series on renovating a fixer upper!! would be really inspiring and would love to see the interesting designs and space saving ideas you'd come up with after living in a Van!

As far as where to buy property - - I live in Canada ( Toronto, baby! ) & we always head to PEC & Muskoka..... have no idea on prices there, but those are our favorites. Imagine having your own cottage to go to in the fall in Muskoka.... just the colors alone!

The Amperage pull of that induction stove top is way too high for that little orange extension cord. You need to get yourself a proper 10g or 8g extension cord to plug into power so you don toverheat things in a bad way. :-) Looks amazing otherwise!
Omg... YES YES YES... buy a fixer upper!! I would LOVE watching your DIY skills & then you can rent it out as a B&B while you travel but can always stay in it when in the area. An island sounds great!!!! Secluded but romantic with all kinds of solar fairy 🧚♀️ lights hanging from tree to tree. It would be your romantic home in Paradise❤️
Tons of us nomads have grabbed a lil place, tiny apartments, few acres of land, even lil’ cabins during this crazy time of global pandemic. There comes a time to be still, maybe this is it. Others don’t have the privilege to live in a fixed spot, many are struggling.
