The jackrabbit at kennywood was my first roller coaster
Kennywood is my home park, and it's always great hearing out of towners comment how great the coasters are. Growing up at this park has spoiled me and didn't realize how great the coasters were until I started to travel to other parks.
Really? My homepark is Canada's Wonderland and I'm really bored of it, I know people have Homepark Favourtism bias, but I think I have Homepark Negativity Bias, the only thing I think Canada's Wonderland does better than any other park is Layout, the park is so easy to navigate with no dead ends, everything is a loop and it's easy to jump from coaster to coaster to coaster, but nearly every other park I've been to has better coasters than CW
@@coastaku1954 I had hometown negative bias growing up when I was in my late teens through my 20's. I was tired of riding the same rides and wanted big faster coasters. Older I get the more I appreciate smaller parks over large ones. I never made a trip to CW since the coaster collection didn't excite me. Maybe one day I'll make it out there.
@@Astrojack83 We have 3 great B&Ms, an Arrow Suspended coaster and a Backlot Stunt Coaster... and the rest is kinda crap...
My personal record for Jack Rabbit was back in August of 2020 when I marathoned it, ending the day with 43 rides.

You guys really need ride the Turtle next time you're there. Since Conneaut removed their Tumble Bug, Turtle has joined the list of last surviving rides at Kennywood.
I’m definitely one who thinks Steel Curtain is super underrated. I freakin love it. So unique. Same goes for Sky Rocket.
Agree steel curtain is my #3 coaster overall
The only good parts of sky rocket are the drop off the midcourse and the drop off the top hat

I’m sure that popcorn is good but they really need a Pittsburgh Popcorn Co place in Kennywood. Also black and yellow isn’t just Steelers colors, it’s basically the theme of the entire city.
It is indeed very good popcorn, Kennywood is my home park and I would have never tasted the Popcorn until a friend I was with purchased some. It is very buttery, flavorful, and crisp I highly recommend if you haven’t tasted it by now.

Phantom’s Revenge is just pure perfection to me. I’ve ridden the original steel phantom and I preferred that one more but the revenge is still amazing! I hope Kennywood keeps it until it doesn’t work anymore 😂
I had the change to visit a few weeks ago phantom’s revenge is as awesome as it looks steel curtain is incredibly underrated the park is clean and small and has a cute old charm 10/10 park can go on about this park al day!

Just went to Kennywood for the first time yesterday, absolutely loved it. Phantoms Revenge is absolutely filthy, and every coaster was fun. Can't wait to go back.

Just got my first visit to Kennywood over Memorial Day weekend and I loved it. As expected, Phantom's Revenge was the best ride in the park. Overall, I love the quirky charm that Kennywood has. A truly odd, yet awesome park. My only gripe though is that they had absolutely no merchandise whatsoever for Phantom's Revenge.
They have tons of merchandise. I Have collected many shirts of the now defunct rides like the log jammer or turnpike. Plus others. U went early but it's possible u didn't see all the gift shops. The one in lost Kennywood (near the exit of PR) is where I usually get my stuff.
Was just here recently. Loved the design and refurbishment!
I just rode black widow for the first time this year and it is now my second favorite ride in the park behind phantom. I went on it 3 times and even got a rain ride on it before we left.
You guys forgot about the scariest ride at Kennywood.. the ride home! This is my hometown park. We love it. Nice park in the middle of the ghetto.

Btw I agree with your sentiment on Steel Curtain that it doesnt do much. Really wish there was just one more top tier metal coaster like Phantom at KW.
Oh yeah and also I thought Pantheon was pretty "meh" on the first ride but once I loosened up a bit, put my hands up, and let myself fly it's now my #1 coaster!

I rode the Jack Rabbit which was my first coaster at age 7. Been hooked on Coasters ever since. I grew up in Pittsburgh but haven't lived there in a long time. Need to go back to "Kennywood's Open" soon...

I loved the Skyline shirt too! I also loved his joke about the Steelers being a baseball team. That's the way to represent Cincinnati properly.
We have a similar ride like the Kangaroo at german Funfairs, called Beach Jumper, its really fun 🙂

There's a ride in Ocean City, NJ at "Playland's Castaway Cove" that isn't the same and not as old but is quite similiar to "Kangaroo." Just thought it was worth pointing out, seeing as how you've been there for Galeforce (and Wild Waves) at least multiple times, it's worth a ride even though on more crowded days it can take a while due to how it's loaded (and how it could kinda use one extra person if possible to operate it). For all I know there might be many of them out there, think I'll check it out actually.
As far as Kangaroo goes, there are several ‘flying coasters’ (the generic name for this ride type) that still tour the fairgrounds in the UK. These may (or may not) have been created by different manufacturers, but they’re basically the same thing.

The kangaroo isn’t the only one of its type … we have a few of these travelling on the uk fair circuit !
I think they mean it’s the last one as a permanent fixture in a park as the others travel around in the fair circuit.

Are you guys going to be visiting walygator grand est in France ?? I went the year it opened, when it was the Big Bang Smurf Park. Course I don’t remember I was only a baby lol but my dad was stationed in Germany at the time.
I feel so validated by your complaints about Premier Rides trains. I have such a hard time feeling comfortable in their trains. It really makes some of their rides unbearable.
I went to Kennywood in early June and they let me and a friend load up one side on exterminator.
In August they're open from 5-10 for only 5 hours, but do you think I could get in all the coasters in 5 hours?

The true racing experience is when ur riding Gemini and on the big turnarounds u high-five everyone on the other team. Also it always duels
Disagree. Every time I'm on Gemini we weren't even close to the other train. Even going up the hill we weren't close. On the Racer ur always neck and neck. And yes, u can high five in the bends too.

its not exactly identical, but it does share a lot of similarities, including that they both feature a mobius layout
steel curtain does not pull much airtime in my opinion and when i ridden it 4times i did not feel any forces

Kennywood had a Bayern Curve for a long time, I think it is gone now. Are there any parks around that still have one or is it officially defunct?
I THINK Knoebels has one in storage that they just got and are going to refurb and open, but don't quote me on that
I believe there is one still in operation in the US and one in Europe.
Bayern curve is defunct along with paratrooper and volcano along with the old kangaroo ride

Well Black Widow has reopened. Zamperla actually came in to look at Aero 360 and they fixed Black Widow while they were here. I was told from alot of people that it was likely done for the year. Nobody expected to reopen.
