it is not.."A War Dance...?"...but a "Preparation for a Performance.."...it is of course ..Cultural..and not only for that...it is an acknowledgement of being a New Zealander..on the International Arena/Stage...as a small Nation...!!
The AB's see it as a psychological advantage in all their games, impressive as it is it should really only be performed at 'ceremonial' matches eg player retiring, certain number of matches against a team, etc
I respect the haka, but I also respect other teams right not to stand there like spuds while being screamed at. Fuck the fine, get right up in their face.
How you going to deal with a wedge/spear formation? a. Stay in a line and let it break through. b. Outflank it on both sides and take away the point of first contact.
I have never understood why they perform the Haka and there is an objection to almost any proactive response by the opposition. In the very early days (e.g. 1925) the England team just ignored it and carried on with their warm up in their own half!
More misinformation being spread , they crossed the halfway line ffs. God the Media is so pathetic , they'll write anything to get a bit of controversy out of their BS stories.
Only a few media drop kicks made anything of this - they were fined for crossing the halfway not disrespect ...seems like some want to build into this big thing that somehow won them the game. Michael Kavanagh it’s a cultural thing and not an advantage - most rugby fans in the Southern Hemisphere seen it as a good acceptance of the challenge when England responded like that and think that things like that should be allowed because it’s part of your culture to act that way and that every nation playing should bring some of their culture to the game, the Haka for example. The game should be respectful so please calm down and just accept that on the night England were better than the All Blacks and that it could have also been the other way around and nobody would care otherwise.
Michael Kavanagh your ignorance is your problem. Samoa, Tonga & Fiji do it too, it’s a Polynesian thing. The whole world isn’t the same. Anthems are a western thing and that’s fine, other cultures have their own things.

Ok then. We've all seen enough here.
Snowy Richmond... challenging the Haka is worth doing and expected by the ABs.
Breaking rules set by officials, I would proffer, is not to be encouraged.
As a kiwi I love it when the opposition gets up close to the haka I think it shows more respect
Show respect England.
Honestly thought the England team were going to form into a heart shape, now that would be hilarious! My idea if they decide to go ahead with that.
New Zealand: Does a war dance to mock opponents to which said opponents aren't allowed to make any response.
*England scores inside the first minute then wins the game by a landslide.
New Zealand: Surprised Pikachu face.
And lost in the final to South Africa and they were as surprised as they could be😜
Haka, Yes.... not only for NZ, Tonga, Fidji, etc.... Show respect if you want some now.... for the reste of the WORLD RUGBY.... Please STOP this.... It's not Tradition... is an Insult for the Tradition.... don't Mixed up.... RUGBY is about Respect... Not Theater... Keep the tradition beside.... to avoid insult....Think of it. IF Canada start a Pow Wow ... Where are we going!, PLEASE No privilege anymore.
The video title is wrong. They were not fined for disrupting the Haka.
It was for not staying in their own half while the Haka was being performed.
Oooo the scary england V formation 😂😂😂😂😂
Gotta love Joe Marler!
Fines are ridiculous!!!
Joe Marlers comic timing is spot on
World Rugby's take on the Haka is entering the politically correct. Eventually teams will be cancelled for not bowing first to the All Blacks. Meanwhile, I never hear New Zealanders moan about any of the responses.
The All Black Haka is pretty lame now that they form a v themselves, it’s too choreographed for me!
They should be too embarrassed to talk about it... pathetic performance in the final
Proper gentleman .. rugby, thugs game played by gentleman. Football gentleman’s game played by thugs.
There's far more deliberately dangerous play in rugby.
Zoroaster1996 bullshit.
Boxing is a thugs game
@@williamhawkes7437 You clearly don't know know the sport: John Quill, Andrea Lovotti and Nicola Quaglio and then Sebastien Vahaamahina, just to name a few perps from the World Cup.
@Captain Insano Shows no mercy Completely irrelevant comment.
They were fined for crossing the line, team have fought each other when they get so close during such an intense moment, so they are pre warned not to cross the line.
Joe Marler's face before the haka was priceless.
the "Hah Kah" lol.
In 1989, Ireland made a really tight V and marched forward and were just inches from touching the NZ players.
I watched the video they was referring to and a lot of Americans commented saying surprised the English didn’t open fire on the natives .... hmmmm clearly the Americans have forgotten their own history typically and they forgot the Americans was originally british when they formed America ... there’s a lot of respect between Britain and Australia/New Zealand and many other countries but trying to explain and teach the Americans things is like watching paint dry 🙄 ... just think the yanks envy us 😂😂
You've gotta see the funny side
Lol we should of just do the normal English response...throw a few bottles...let's fucking have it lol
As Maori and kiwis from nz we embrace any response to the haka! Whateva culture represents you and your people is more than welcome . It’s a challenge and when you challenge back it brings great mana and respect to you !🙏 just don’t cross the line 😂we didn’t make io that rule that’s on the WRF 😂🙏
Yawns and armpit farts would be our response . No offense 😜
Ask any Kiwi the Haka is a challenge and a blessing from the gods. To face it is more respectful then to turn away or not engage at all. I am Aussie but every Kiwi Ive asked about it gives the same answer
Once Joe Marler committed, Kolbe knew he had the try.
Haka is a joke. Pantomime stuff.
It's cringe.
it is not.."A War Dance...?"...but a "Preparation for a Performance.."...it is of course ..Cultural..and not only for that...it is an acknowledgement of being a New Zealander..on the International Arena/Stage...as a small Nation...!!
shutup
Our rugby players are down to earth and respectful and not overpaid like our footballers, who’d rather take the knee then get on with the game.
So they’ve got to stand there and take that intimidation technique with no reaction, by law?
Right, gotcha.
No. They can do whatever they want as long as they don’t cross the half way line
The AB's see it as a psychological advantage in all their games, impressive as it is it should really only be performed at 'ceremonial' matches
eg player retiring, certain number of matches against a team, etc
1995 World Cup Final will forever be the best HAKA
If they set the crowdfunding for the fine,it would be very interesting.
I respect the haka, but I also respect other teams right not to stand there like spuds while being screamed at. Fuck the fine, get right up in their face.
as a man specifically a " warrior" i think its more disrespectful to show indifference to a challenge
How you going to deal with a wedge/spear formation?
a. Stay in a line and let it break through.
b. Outflank it on both sides and take away the point of first contact.
The guy sitting closest to Ross looks like his mom dressed him in the dark
Love this !!!
South Africa RWC 2019 Champions🇿🇦
The British should form an infantry square.
Had sweet 'F' all to do with it. England a good team turned up and the ABs didn't answer. Ironically the Boks did the same to them a week later.
sorry the game isnt starting yet we should not have rules to your pre-match rituals to intimidate a team b4 play and it works prof in the game when we responded nd attempted to intimidate you and take you psychological advantage the all blacks are always given you couldn't handle it time we remove the haka it always been an unfair advantage your given the chance to intimidate a team no other team is allowed this nd were also not allowed to respond how we see fit the game was not ready to start or in possions to start there for sould be allowed to stand and respond were we want to as the haka is not a rugby start it no diffent to the national anthem its that southern hemisphere teams are getting a given advatages in rugby
@@april-tui3524 Just to add, there is mote than one NZ Haka. They have variations which are all choreographed and selected for various opponents and games. please don't keep n with this "disrepecting honour and tradition" nonsense. This silly hubris is why the AB's are admired but not liked by a lot of Rugby fans.
the womble what? Rambling on with no relevance to my comment 🤷🏾♀️
😂😂well I’ve already committed
*CLICKBAIT* They were not fined for disrupting the haka, they were fined for crossing the half way line!
Marler always makes me laugh 🤭🤣 plus he got it all wrong 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
As a kiwi hes right its a challenge and England responded and recieved the challenge much respect good laughs lol
if anyone wants to know why half way line rule exists, go watch New zealand Maori vs Cook island Maori, haka vs Pe'e. Sides always start fighting each other. I mean literally fighting.
The England team got disrupted very badly against the Springboks, what happened in the end?
But they still beat two SH nations back to back to get in the final though. Nothing happened, SA simply played better on the day.
Unreal!! .....fine every other team who smiles during the “Haka”.
Are you stupid?
And then South Africa humble them😂
Mah uso Mah uce thank god other wise we would never have heard the end of it!
What’s that got to do with their response to the Hakka?
Matt Thompson😂😂😂
Ross butchered the word haka almost worse than the poms butchered the all blacks 🤣
fucking oath 🤣
Mate South Africa mauled you guys way worse then yous did to the all blacks
@@rm6894 bro, im kiwi. felt the use of the term poms establishing my position on them c;
@@falcon_viii me too bro , just read your comment properly now 😅
Lol first time beating them since 2012 wonder how long it's gonna take them to beat the All Blacks again. Loss to South Africa but All Blacks beat South Africa at the WC Rugby's top 3 teams are going to be interesting next year
How to restore your iPhone from iCloud or a computer backup
Why should they be fined? The Haka is battle cry, a war dance to intimidate the opposition. Why should not other teams be afforded an opportunity to reply in kind.
It’s frustrating media have misrepresented this. They’re not allowed past the halfway line. That’s the only rule.
Oh please not pass centre line mate thats just asking for a fist in ya face and a kick to ya twat if anything respect rugby before disrespecting a haka we kiwi bokka descent dont care about your v formation response but once you step that line ima knock ya lights out but luckily we in a different era where your safety is important so please respect the sport of rugby before even criticise abour the haka why is it only the all black haka that is hated by you english chaps but not the island countries haka is it because we are a threat, our nation sets standards for younger generation by being professional about the game and leading by good example for the love of rugby.
Every nation is entitled to 90 seconds where they can offer up a challenge. England have all the right in the world to reply. Nobody is stopping them. It’s not NZ’s fault they have literally nothing they could do.
As long as they don't cross the halfway line.
@Badge Man
Well I'd like for the All blacks to put the Haka in the locker at least until and If they make the finals in 2023 because they've then earned it back. Fair enough
Prefer that at the beginning of a game all 40 sec than that migraine use love to sing for the duration of the match like a headache that comes in waves
