      That is a good question. I have not used Plex as I use Cody (spelled wrong on purpose so we don't run into issues) but my neighbor has a network hard drive system where all of his media is stored and then connects his devices to that network drive. @@SimplySmart123 I don't understand what you mean by 'same network'. I'm not trying to share the Kodi app, I only want to get the desktop & Shield to be able to transfer files without the need for any USB or cable connections. Is it possible to send files via Bluetooth, as I can do it from my desktop to my Android phone no problem after accepting said files. The Bluetooth settings on my desktop shows that it's paired with my Shield, but won't transfer files without acceptance from the Shield & there's no pop up which allows me to accept any incoming connections. It's all very confusing to me, as I want to send over rom files or at least have them accessible to use in gaming emulators on the Shield.

      Not sure. It should work like shown in the video. Are you sure you followed all of the steps?

    I followed these instructions to the letter, however, after I've mapped the network drive the internal folder only shows the Android folder which Windows says I don't have permission to access. I've tried this on my Mac and get the same problem. I've also copied files to the root of the network drive, but when I check the Shield they're not in there. Where did they go? lol Anyway, I've searched reddit and the Nvidia forums for a solution but nothing seems to work. Even disabled and enabled SMB; allowed all permissions on the Shield, and still nothing is working. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

      Ok. I solved the problem. The issue seems to have be cause by the USB storage I had connected to the Shield. Once I disconnected it and told the Shield to forget the storage device everything started working.

      Yes. You should be able to find it but I don't know the path. If you have a file manager installed on your device it should help you determine the path but the beginning part may vary slightly.

      You would have to set this up in in your router to use a static IP address for those devices.

    • @SimplySmart123
      @SimplySmart123  2 года назад +1

      You wouldn’t need them and that could cause issues because that is the Kodi installation itself. These files are generated on the target device when Kodi is installed on that device.

    You did NOT mention the big Win ISSUE, you can get in as the mayority of win users (WIn is one of the worse system still in use) and which is UNSOLVED...the "Win Network password"!!!!...Even entering the correct username and the WIN login password, I do not get it working! Sorry for that, but your video is almost useless for the most of users, for this stupid unsolved issue (all tutorials do not work)

      Once you use the correct credentials it will work. You might try to set up a new profile just for this case. Check the comments. Many people are having success!

      What the hell are you talking about?
      I'm running Windows 10, and it worked first time.
      From what you wrote, it seems you're mixing up the credentials.
      In order to connect to the shield, you must not use your windows credentials.
      The credentials are provided by the shield itself; they're displayed when you enable the SMB file sharing.

      They should show but they will be in a different path. Not sure of that path you might try to install a file manager on your Sheild and try and find it that way. They try from the computer.
